Considering how his image has been bashed (for good reasoN), at least he's trying to cover a little bit of the mess.

Unless we know the details of IPLs payment schedule its reasonable to believe did not he have the funds even though they were paid on time from IGN: they may have went to other upfront costs to cover other sponsors that may not pay so quickly. Whats not reasonable is that he favored his own players with what funds he had rather then the other players. It seems pretty reasonable to favor the international/Korean players and casters in terms of funding priority: they are what the sponsors are after really, due to the much larger following for those scenes, and they have no shortage of tourniment offers so if he delayed in the slightest they would just tell him to F off. It's not so reasonable to favor his SEA players over the SEA players of other teams though. And its frankly incompetent not to be completely transparent about this sort of thing and the decision making process that went into it. If he pays his assorted other costs like this 13000 dollar bill and the other payments to event staff, then I'll be willing(and granted my opinion is pretty meaningless) to chock it off to good intentions mixed with a little favoritism, and a lot of inexperience.

I wouldn't trust him organizing a pizza party for a school classroom.

I actually believe that he is a truly inexperienced and imcompetent manager, that relies on manipulation, fast talking and false hope to create opportunity. But when it comes to making things actually happen, he has neither the mental discipline or the street smarts to come up with a real plan, let alone execute one. This just makes him look and act like a con man, rather than being one. Quite frankly a real con man would have done a better job conning everyone. Of course, that doesn't make him any less reprehensible.

I don't want to be horribly intrigued by that. If something really happens to Gus, even if it had nothing to do with this at all, that could be used as evidence against him. Not too cool to get stuck in situations like that

If he does not fix this, I swear he will never be able to step in to another e-sports event here. Or SEA for that matter.

Actually Four members from our team Qualified for the PPSL, it was even put on the ppsl.tv players site that me,CubeDione,CubeSalt, and CubePayAso were going. Mysteriously when the brackets were generated I did not see CubePayAso's name anywhere. Who could have taken his slot? 1 week before the event Gus told us to buy our own ticket and he'll just pay us back at manila. Our team was hesitant with this and we decided that the risk was to great. We might not get refunded. So we didn't buy our own tickets. Though things would have been fine if Gus told us a month before the event that he wasnt going to fly us there. Because frankly a ticket from Cebu to Manila is not that expensive but buying a ticket a less than a week before the flight from Cebu to Manila is more that triple the price it could have been weeks before. Worst case scenario for us could have been that we bought our own plane tickets because Gus said that he would reimburse us once we meet him there at Manila. Which would have been impossible knowing how dodgy he was. And lose more than 25,000 thousand pesos that like 580 USD. Then CubePayAso would have purposely gone absent from work just to play at PPSL and arrive there with his slot gone. Page 23 has alot of damning information on what Gus 'Did' Oh and that's probably only half of 'it'
