A few things:
Firstly people saying that if a full switch comes it'll be the end of foreigners as happened with Brood War I don't agree. Now that a lot of big foreign teams are partnering with Korean teams, training in Korea, having team houses in the west and with the scene being a lot bigger outside of Korea, it won't be anything like the same situation.
The partnerships which exist now allow the foreigners who want to compete the chance to get Korean training and get to that standard (specifically, look at Huk).
Additionally, with a global scene there will be more new talents emerging outside of Korea than inside, and if they have the right attitude teams will get them the training they need to get to take it to the next level.
And even if Kespa end up involved with running SC2 in Korea there's no sense in them doing anything that will shut out foreigners, it makes no business sense for that to happen.
Secondly, I don't think it's certain that the top BW players will necessarily be the top players in SC2 if they switch. They'll be good, sure, but I don't think it guarantees that they will be the best. The games aren't the same, hence a lot of BW fans don't like SC2, and the skills won't match exactly, perhaps the people who've switched already and done well have a skill set suited more closely to playing SC2. Say a bunch of field hockey players switched to play ice hockey, sure there's some crossover but it's not the same thing.
If we look at the foreign scene are all the top foreign BW players the best SC2 players? For instance Tyler won TSL2 but hasn't reached the same heights in SC2.
With the exWC3 pros, Grubby hasn't done as well as less successful WC3 players have in SC2.
We'll see what happens I guess...

it might not be "exciting", but to look at a minimap and see over half the map is purple is something to be impressed by

e. I'm betting that the team that already started practicing is either KT or SKT. That's because they only asked ongamenet's CURRENT viewerships, which consists mainly on broodwar players. uhhh no,the polls were open to everyone in korea. Dude, really? Is his argument so hard to comprehend. If I'd ask on NHL.com if they'd want to rather watch the FIFA Champion's League the outcome would be the same and barely representative. those polls were on fomos, they were open to everyone,it wasn't specific to OGN. Fomos is a BW community. They are like the BW section of TL, very anti-SC2. The reporters there didn't write any SC2 stories until recently after KeSPA made it clear they're dipping into SC2 too. They still love the BW scene dearly.

If it was played side by side like Special Force proleague, that would be fine. If its phasing out BW, thats it, im leaving the E-sports scene... And I just started getting pretty good at it(BW)...

fomos is not a BW community its a korean news site for all of esports, kpop and other korean teen interests and is very pro SC2, atleast compared to DES.

I am EXTREMELY excited to see the BW pros come over. Curious to see how many of the bonjwa's will come over, and who will just go into retirement.

I honestly just don't the Korean public will have the same interest in the game as they have have for StarCraft: Brood War. Summarily, it will be more and more hard to fund the teams and OnGameNet.
Truly the end of an era.

Though I probably have the cause and effect mixed up in that the lack of SC2 fans there was because SC2 just isn't as popular in Korea.

I can't believe that Blizzard can just slap a Starcraft sticker on Command and Conquer 5 and destroy the naturally developed Korean Brood War scene by throwing money. I hope every player, caster and tournament organizer feels ashamed of pretending that SC2 is the true successor of Broodwar in order to make money and gain popularity. If this goes through I will never by another Blizzard product ever again.
This is just too horrible to imagine. Blizzard fucking balances the game for noobs, and terrible players. Can you imagine what would have happened to Brood War if Protoss had been balanced for D level? Blizzard makes incredibly shitty maps so that players can "rush," yet ignores the fact that you can be aggressive on big maps also.
It's like every design decision has been made to dumb the game down so that its popular among casuals. You want to use a shuttle + Reaver, too fucking bad you have a colossus now, its pretty much the same thing. You want to micro carriers, tough shit, the interceptors will now come back, also the goliath can now fly over terrain. You don't like to take more than three bases, cool Browder doesn't like to either, we've changed worker gather rates and added an extra geyser so that taking four or more bases is pointless. You are having problems with seige tanks, no don't use drops or positioning, just make marauders or immortals lol. They have also removed losses from the profiles of noobs, now Joe reddit gold league can feel like a gosu, because that's what makes game good.
I can't believe that every WoW fanboy, Redditor and youtube caster watching noob is getting their way. Oh well, at least I'll have the last laugh when the SC2 foreign scene dies. This has probably damned the Korean scene to a new coke like fiasco as well. Nice rage post but you forgot couple of stuff: 1. You forgot to ask for your money back. 2. You forgot to make threats to get all your friends to not buy any future Blizzard products as well. 3. We can probably guess but normally you also mention which game you are going to go play instead of this one.

Obviously I'd prefer BW and SC2 to coexist together but if SC2 does end up taking the majority of proleague (not likely this coming season) I hope KeSPA realizes that there is a sizable community of players already formed in Korea and an actual foreign scene. I think what people who come from both BW and SC2 can agree on is that it would be a step in the wrong direction if KeSPA completely ignores the world like they have done in the past. I'm counting on Gretech to make a deal that is fair for everyone involved.

Excited to see the BW pros come over. I feel sad for the BW fans though, especially those who dislike SCII. It is a different game, but the future money lies in SCII probably.

Considering BoxeR and NaDa play, iloveoov is in military, and sAviOr is banned for life, you should probably only hold your breath for Flash, if people consider him a bonjwa at all. Taekbang-Leessang is a different story.
