I never knew I had a minor condition until I saw the swarm host. It makes me feel uneasy and overall in a shitty mood after thinking about it. Sure, I've seen those gross infections and shit but I think everyone hates seeing those because we sure as hell don't want to catch it. I'm not even someone to be grossed out. That worm in the face didn't bother me, gore type things don't bother me and I can't really think of anything else that does that most people can find disturbing.

Half the people here are now saying the OP is just complaining about "gross things".

You're forgetting this is all about that pattern. The annoying thing to me, is that I only noticed these patterns now after the OP (and I have this problem, but not at an untolerable level) and get annoying tingles and around my neck when I even think about it.

This wasn't ever a problem because although zerg units are somewhat disgusting, they never had these hole-like patterns which triggers this "phobia".

I made it through though. By the way, watching that and feeling itchy or uncomfortable is pretty fucking natural. It isn't a phobia.

I'm wondering why complain now since this design is already in WoL.The swarm host's back with the holes looks very much like a creep tumor. If you zoom into an unused creep tumor it very much looks like a swarm host burrowed.

I can't stand things that look parasitic in any way, and the little eggs coming out of the little holes on that things back make me a bit uneasy. It makes me sad when I reflect on it because the lurker is one of the coolest Zerg units ever and I like how the Swarm Host functions, just not how it looks while doing it.

I originally didn't like Zerg because I thought they were gross in the overall broad sense (which they are). I play them now since they're the most fun to me and I like how they function and produce, but this is a different kind of gross. It's more of an unnerving discomfort that rises in you and makes you feel nervous, anxious, and makes you squirm (I can't watch those things with those frogs that have eggs in their backs and things like ringworms and ticks fuck with me). It honestly wouldn't bother me if the unit laid the eggs or threw them up (like the Infestor with ITs).

This sucks, in summary.

I sincerely hope Blizzard never change a graphic because a few people are scared of it, ridiculous. Zerg are supposed to be creepy, if they make you itch then they've done their job.

Well, coming from a person that has this phobia, I've been constantly forcing myself to look at the pictures that bother me and the reaction isn't so bad anymore (been doing this while I was in the library studying all night). I actually just watched the swarm host preview video again and it didn't bother me one bit, but the gross pictures still give me a small reaction. Hopefully I can just keep training myself to not be completely disgusted by the pictures.

On topic: Uhhhhhhhh I have a hard time actually believing this phobia will affect you in game, and I don't really think it should be changed. But I do want to see a halloween version of starcraft 2 where every unit is completely repulsive to the human eye and the game is unbearable to play..

I don't really think that test video is valid. If you're sitting there like "am I feeling uneasy? can I take it? do I have a phobia? is it itching?", which it invites you to do, of course you're gonna feel uneasy. The belief that something's bound to happen is a very powerful thing, think of the placebo effect. The biggest mistake you can make in an experiment with human subjects is to tell those subjects in advance what reactions you expect from them.

Plus, there were other things involved that can trigger uneasiness, like holes in bodies, insects etc.
