Additionally, the build was new, and presumably caught MVP off guard, who knows if a response will be developed in the next two weeks? Not to say that it has been, but you can't say that a new build that did well against ONE 111 is a surefire counter. Puma is above kiwi in skill level most likely anyway, making the point moot.
As for the patch, it delayed the build by about 10 seconds and gave us one more range on Immortal, which hasn't been proven by anyone yet to make a huge impact on holding the push.

Sucks for DRG and Socke but good for Team Liquid :D

Kiwi nearly beat Puma last MLG and with the patch going in his favor, He should have a good chance.

May I point out that that was AFTER he had slogged through Open Bracket and dealing with jetlag. Now that he lives in NA with EG, and will start in pools, I give him a MUCH better chance...

dang open bracket just got quite a bit easier. =p

I dislike down time after each match, so Drewbie vs Idra is not on my list of matches to watch... we all know what is going to happen already, why bother broadcasting it

Holy PvP....
I really want to see another Kiwikaki vs Puma. :D

I'm sorry, I guess I was misinformed... That probably makes this match much closer than I originally believed then. I wish both players luck! (I still think Hongun Ret would be a much more interesting MU, but w.e XD)

who will win the election? I think mc was impeached when he left code S
And then he resigned when he fell from Code A

I feel like pool D is going to be really weird, as MC, Huk and Hero have all lived together, and Huk, Hero and Tyler have all been on team liquid (though I think Hero and Huk have not been on team liquid at the same time). I feel like they probably know each other really well, and it's PvP, so... some strange stuff is going to happen, I think.
Should be good!

This guy summed up on how I feel about the whole thing :
James Berthoty · Florida State University This is terrible, I blindly voted Huk vs. Tyler because of the epicness, but then saw that the next match was the rivalry that is Idra vs. Drewbie. Stream both of them split screen. Stream inside a stream etc. etc. Reply · 1 · · 2 hours ago

DRG's got his Code S spot, no wonder he decided to pass. This makes for a very interesting group.
July will have practice much easier since he needs to focuss primarily in ZvP. He's my pick for 1st in group D.

People seriously voted for MC and Hero over a Boxer game? What is the matter with you people?
|
looks like we're going to be seeing quite a bit of protoss on Friday. This will make up for the lack of it in GSL =D
been starving for protoss

Really sad that DRG and Socke couldn't be there, but Hero and Tyler making it into the pools is great! Go Teamliquid!
I voted for Idra vs Drewbie, Puma vs Kiwikaki, and Hero vs MC. They should all hopefully produce interesting games, if not just story lines.

wow sucks when 2/3 of the games you vote for are PvP just cos you cant stand watching bad players like drewbie/haypro/machine
