But his standard ling/infestor/ultra play seems like it just spooked Terrans because theyre not used to it. Think DRG's mass counter style. It feels like if you give SlayerS a month and stephanos replay pack theyll just come up with an answer. Regardless, hes a beast You can say this about any strategy any player does in league games. Anyone can have any style, and if you give SlayerS a month, they'll always be an answer to stop it. ....until a new play style unleashes.

stephano was pretty much the godfather of ling bling muta in euro before mixing up his style, he never went to T3 back then, and just slaughtered EVERY TERRAN with t2 ling baneling muta, he was actually really SCARY. but now he just feels like this other style is better.

Of course he can play other styles. Even if he is weaker with others, he can certainly improve. He did play muta/ling/bane at IPL3 as well, so it's not like he only knows ling/infestor/ultra. The scariest thing about his play is how easily he beat TheStC (who is fairly strong in TvZ). I mean, in the game on Antiga, TheStC went a very greedy and economical quick third and Stephano let him get away with it. TheStC was up a base for a long period of time. Despite that, Stephano was still able to close the gap and get to a point where he was even in that game. And in the other 3 games, TheStC never touched him. He didn't just beat TheStC. He outplayed him every step of the way.

Where as FXO.Lucky seemed to have a much more scary ZvT style. The quick heavy roach (2-base pressure into 3rd base) was a lot more effective, Lucky played ZvT like he was playing ZvP. But Lucky's ZvZ doesn't seem to be his strong point. I am curious how well Stephano could actually do against top Code A Protoss and terran or even Code S. But I don't see TheStC as a good example of whether or not Stephano could compete at top level in Korea. From watching terrans in this season of GSL(october), TheStC's TvZ was lackluster and kind of weak compared to Code S Terrans, and reaction time and micro were less than what I'm use to seeing from Korean Terrans. I definitely view Stephano as 1 of the best foreigners now though, and maybe the best foreigner Zerg. Dimaga was my favorite, but Stephano stands above the rest.

he's a BEAST. this is maybe the most applicable use of the term. he made me want to play zerg because they look so much less fragile in his hands. what he was able to do on two base in some of the games was breathtaking.
