Also in French law, there is a time to retract. Gogo Stephano! Is it a common theme for French people to not take the time to fucking read something before committing to a response?

Well IMO for the legitimacy of E-sports, contracts do need to be honoured. If a player can make a mockery of contractual obligations, then that sets a precedent that isn't very good for the scene. While my understanding is that legally, Stephano is allowed to opt out, it doesn't leave a very good impression in my mind.

Yes, let's all give a big cheer for a player that obviously couldn't make up his mind about what organisation he wanted to be part of, and has created an embarrasing problem for one of the few actual, decent, professional teams out there.
At times I wish SC was played by people in their 20s/30s instead of in their teens.

Verbal agreements are binding (at least in Norway where we have real laws) just as written signatures, they are just harder to prove for obvious reasons. I honestly don't know how it is in France though, but it wouldn't surprise me if they have some loophole in that as well, country with pussy laws it seems.

Sounds like millenium just being an ass in general. From coL's statement, seems like complexity did absolutely nothing wrong.. All millenium's statement said was coL "disoriented" their young playing into making a bad decision, whatever that means. Actually, seems like it means absolutely nothing... and any chance of it meaning anything was completely denied by complexity's statement, since they gave it plenty of time without any shady business of forcing (if that's even possible) stephano to sign the contract. I don't know what stephano is thinking either, signing a legally binding contract then changing his mind afterwards...

Considering the Sneaky Snake moves they did with vVvTitan i wouldn't expect anything different from CoL. At all.
They are actually going to try and take Legal action if i'm correct after reading the Official Statement.
Hrm... Not good Did you even read it?
Yeah I READ IT
The way it was worded i wouldn't be surprised 'even though its CoL.'s 'side of the story'
Sounded like Stephano may have been pressured into the Contract.

w/e 1 less player i have to worry about following and cheering for.

Hrm... Not good How did anything in their statement make it seem like they pressured Stephano into anything? You must be trolling at this point, though at least this time you made it through a post with out calling coL "slimy".

Pretty fucked up. I can't see how both Millenium & Stephano can come out of this without losing credibility.

Time to go read it again.

Even if I dont like coL that much, I'm very disappointed. Stephano should have sticked to his decision and go with coL for his own sake.
I doubt he will ever go to Korea now and travel as much as we would have with complexity.
Just hope the outcome of this wont be too bad for both complexity and Stephano ( Mill definitely lowered their image in that desperate move ).

This whole situation makes me sad. I know things like this happen in the 'real world' all the time but I don't like to see it creeping into e-sports......for the record, I appreciate Complexity's effort to remain open in communication with everyone about it. I'd like to see Millennium release a statement in the interest of open communication as well.

This is one thing that confuses me. Every French person is talking about how all contracts allow a month to back out and such. I assume that the contract that Complexity drafted doesn't have this clause in it. So does that mean the contract itself was illegitimate for a French person to even sign, or does French law somehow automatically add in the probation period, regardless of what the contract says?

Then what part of it "sounds like they pressured poor Stephano"?

Sounds like ultimately this will be decided by whether or not Stephano is able to opt-out of a contract (French law?) before a set time passes. If he is, then I don't see what coL is going to accomplish by taking legal action against either Stephano or Mill. It is unfortunate for coL. that their offer was accepted and then later spurned, but if Stephano is legally able to do that coL should simply move on and learn from this experience.
