By french canadians you mean quebecer ? I didn't know Testie was quebecer, but I think Kiwikaki is ?

Almost all Canadian Starcraft players are quebecers.. Hell, look at HuK's last name (might just be a coincidence but still funny

Are you sure? Montreal was like a Western version of Seoul back in the golden BW days.

With 6 of the top foreigners, Germany as a team is quite strong, and could give a decent run for the money to the teams of Sweden, Canada, USA, Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Australia+UK. I would love if someone organizes such a team event with the best players per nation. Granted, it won't be as competitive as the individual cups, because of lack of such high individual incentive, but would be fun.

French Canadian, a Canadian with french as mother tongue.

EDIT: Doesn't the name Loranger sound a bit French Canadian? Maybe he is a distant relative to the legendary Testie?

French, a French with french as mother tongue.

I dream about something like a real "World Cup" in Starcraft 2. With an system like the GSTL has. This would be soooo coool!

I just wish WCG Canada didn't suck so we could send someone to WCG this year. I would love to see Canada represented along with all of these other great countries.

I'm certain. Canada had a ton of talent. Sure, the XD's~ boys originated from Quebec, but there were many other notable names who rose to the top as well. If you want to talk about the golden days you should never leave out a guy like Smuft who hailed from B.C. for example.

this made me laugh, and unfortunately is true. Not as much of a disparity as it was in BW, but the fact that Koreans win almost every single tournament they participate in means a lot. Especially considering it's WCG, Koreans will put everything on the line for their national pride lol

I won't lie though, Poland is looking strong, with Mana, Tarson, and Nerchio
Of course Sweden is the strongest foreign country, with the TSL3 finalists, naniwa and thorzain

North America is a country now? What did I miss?

Dude, Canadians and Americans are pretty much the same except for Quebec.

Except for the metric system and universal health care you mean.

Germany does have a strong lineup it looks like, but I don't know if it'll stand a chance against Ukraine/Sweden.

Kinda off-topic: m0s1n0, your thread titles remind me of the amarillo(I think?) guy that posted the two Korean articles with title quotes of :"Nada is an outstanding Progamer" and "Flash would do well in SC2" hehehe

thats in a good way though :D

well this is crazy what you say

Sure Nerchio is good but closed on results he isnt as good as Socke so i would always say Socke is the way better gamer then Nerchio.

Also germany have TLO if he isnt a superstar (who cares his results) who then ? no one! have mor watcher on his stream then TLO

Hasuobs and Socke by far the best german players, darkforce plays so much and after seeing him in NASL destroy alive i think we can expect alot of him (wcg germany place 1 by two times 3-2 3-2 socke in the finals where he had to win 2 bo3 says everything)

and goody well goody man !

but in case of superstar jaeh there is no one cause goody hasu socke darkforce tlo are just on the same fuckn level and in other countrys everone of them would be "the" star.

same in poland with tarson moon nerchio etc

@figq: uk ? australia ? rly ?

ps: i love how americans, to be able to compare with poland ukraine germany sweden and co declear themselves als NORTH AMERICA and took the canadians for themself too xDD

yeah, I know, the Austrians are jealous again^^
I think the top 3 German players are

1. Socke
2. Hasu
3. Darkforce

(Sorry TLO, but you have to deliver again)

But even in Europe I'd say they are behind Sweden and Ukraine and possibly Poland

I don't think this is so surprising, Germany is a large country. It's a little more striking that less-populated countries like Sweden and Canada have produced so many good players, and some other countries don't seem to do that well.

I mean, I can't name a UK player besides DeMuslim, or Russians besides Kas and BratOk. (Or any Chinese players besides Loner, but I feel like that's just because they have a separate community).

lol, yes I do realize that. but do you realize that he was somehow playing down the fact that Germany is a very stong country in SC2?

and I was obviously joking around a bit and alluding to Germans and Austrians always making fun of each other, as they are neighbours. Is that so hard to get?
I tink, MC so sterong
