I await the day when SC2 outgrows this phase. How often do invited players win over qualifying players? It certainly hasn't happened in GSL except in MMA's case so far for the Ro32. Even so, it was less of an invite and more of him qualifying through MLG rather than the prelims. In TSL3 1st and 2nd place both had to qualify in among a significant field of invitees. Puma was the only person who actually needed to qualify into NASL, the rest of the league was invite only, and he ended up winning. MLG invited some Koreans to Columbus and Anaheim. Dunno what happened to them tho

Live 256 Man Double Elimination Qualifiers at the venue - top 16 enter the Championship Bracket! That leaves 8 more spot for the Championship Bracket. Is it safe to assume that top 8 from last season will get in? They said 8 invites. And no I don't think so. CatsPajamas said they are inviting koreans. But they will almost definitely invite white-ra/idra (season 1/2 winners). The finals of IPL2 already revealed who will return for 3... unless they forgot or changed their minds... Oh? I don't remember hearing that. What'd they say?
the "returning 16" from IPL2 could be pushed over to the next ONLINE event, and this offline event is seperate from their online series of events, thought they are calling it IPL3....

Please Invite Marineking, We need to see more and more and more of him.

I hope the event stays in the Bay Area

Live Event is so much better than an online, delayed tournament like IPL1 & 2 :D I realize this requires a lot more investment from your side but this is the way to go. Excellent move, don't forget to fix HD streams without lag for the 50k viewers (which don't have to be free, of course) ^_^

So many events in October.
Devastation in Phoenix from the 7th-10th, this event from the 6th through 9th, MLG Orlando from the 14th-16th.
Might as well rename October altogether.
Excellent news.

IPL doing things the correct way.
Two online tourneys to prove their mettle. Then a live tournament with a great setup, some invites, some qualifiers and an open bracket. All expense paid to the invites and those who qualify, as it should be.
Very well done, looking forward to hearing who the invites are!

Looks promising, thank you.
