The first tier is his cheese and all in play. MKP has the best micro in the world, and the best Terran all inner. He cheeses a lot in the Korean ladder and dominates it. If you cannot defeat his all in play, you do not deserve a macro game from him. This was shown evidently by his match against SaSe, where he cheesed 3 games in a row because SaSe could not deal with it. Notice players like HuK have defeated his dreaded 3 rax, and so in the future, I bet MKP won't try and all in Huk. Unfortunately, after watching many of his games in the NASL qualifiers and random online tournaments, it just seems that very few can defeat his all in play and so do not deserve a macro game as they are wasting his time.
This post is so true. MKP's play is a double edged sword for him. In foreign tournies such as fxo opens and the china tourney, he can 1 base his way to victory because it's pretty hard to stop.
However, I'm a huge MKP fan as he's my fav player but this success also hurts him because you can't 1 base your way through gsl which is part of the reason for his gsl slump. He crushes foreigners with his 1 base timings, but it's teaching him bad habits that don't translate well to gsl.
For MKP to evolve as a player I do believe he needs to break from his habit of 1 basing and become a mass expander like MVP. However, he's won 2 fxo opens and the china tourney with that play because foreigners can't stop it, but it's also hurting his improvement.
I want MKP to win, but in his current state, I think puma would have the edge on him if they met.
Must take off work, drop everything, and attend. This is like... monumental, the most stylistic player (probably where 70%+ of Terran opening originate from) is coming overseas.
EDIT: This is the dude that held an unscouted two-gate proxy in his base, while expanding. No sweat.
By lucky coincidence I will be in amsterdam with my car on the weekend of the 17th, just 3h from cologne when this is going on, but how on earth does it work?
I buy a ticket for the whole gamescom at their website, and the IEM is just a section of the expo centre I can go to?
Also, I am wondering for any cologne residents, can I just drive into the centre and park there for free? I looked at the gamescom website and it didn't mention any prices or bookings, or problems with the congestion zone?
I really cannot wait to experience this, there is no esport scene in the UK so this is a brilliant twist of fate ^^
stephano is good and all, but the dude is SO overrated as an underdog. I mean Nerchio is WAY better. I mean he has the highest winrate in grandmasters right now too

You do realize that grand master league just got on today, right ? You can't really take this as a certification for Nerchio's domination.
Group D is hard to predict. MKP should come out on top, but Mana's PvT is good enough to take their series. But then you have Stephano, who's ZvP is good and either Protoss could take the PvP, especcially if a week in Korea turns SaSe in to a mega gosu. I can't see MKP not beating at least SaSe and Stephano to take 1st place, but 2nd place could go to anyone.
PuMa getting Idra is just a rite of passage of that all EG members must go through.
I'm really glad to see a player we don't see often like Killer there, though Ace coming back to try to get another IEM victory would have been better imo. Either way, great invites.

The whole Gamescom will take place in the five biggest "hangars" (I call them hangars becasuse the are really large) with the ESL having their promotial area in hangar 9 (you can see a map of the convention area on the gamescom page). There will be a big stage where all the games will be played. There are many large parking areas all around the convention area. One day parking tickets cost 5€ (They at least did in '09 and '10, so I assume there will be no change). I always visit the Gamescom, because it is such an amazing experience for every gamer! And I can not wait for this years trip to come ... That is when I look back at last year, where I was able to speak with NaDa which all alone did just pay for itself^^

Nerchio just got owned at his first LAN, while Stephano got third place, only losing to Dimaga in a ZvZ. But, I mean, Dimaga hasn't beat anyone special in a ZvZ before.
Wow looking forward to see Killer compete in the foreign scene! I am predicting HuK to take this tournament. and if he doesn't I hope the top placing foreigners will consider competing in GSL and MLG.
