On August 6th, Jarett Cale (the actor who plays Jeremy from Pure Pwnage) along with Adebisi co-casted the Frag For Cancer tournament finals where players competed for various headsets from Sennheiser. Although there weren't very many well known players competing, the games were intense none the less. Jarett showed extensive game knowledge (and a little bias here and there) produced an excellent viewing experience for all who watched. From mentioning previous game strategies as far back as the early beta, to possible future metagame strategies he believes will have a strong showing, it's clear that this is a person with just as much love for Starcraft as the rest of us on TL.

I believe that with more opportunities and practice, Jarett has the ability to cast with the biggest and the best and bring that unforgettable viewing experience to many more people and many more tournaments. I sincerely hope he is asked by another tournament organizer to cast an event, because I know I wouldn't miss it for anything.

Keep Pwning Jarett!

I thought his casting was absolutely amazing for a first time thing (at least first time doing something big like this). I really enjoyed it and despite being silly I really feel his voice is good for casting.

Agreed, keep pwning and nice write. :D

I completely enjoyed his casting. Was surprised to see how much he knew about the game, but then again I guess I shouldn't be surprised since the early episodes of PP he would just talk about owning newbs on Red Alert haha

Pure Pwnage is a popular web series (begun May 11th 2004) turned TV show in early 2010. The web series features Jeremy (played by Jarett Cale), who was a fictional RTS pro gamer. Along with his friend Doug, a hyper active FPS player and Kyle, Jermey's "noob" brother who is behind the camera, the viewer is taken through the life of Jeremy as he hones his skills as a gamer.

Here's a link to the first Episode of the web series (I recommend watching these first):

I'd appreciate this even if he was complete beginner, but apparently he is surprisingly well informed about everything Starcraft-related. Thumbs up!

You could make this a fan club actually. Seems like that more than a thread. Can't say I listened to the cast, but after this I will.

I really enjoyed his cast and I hope he does more in the future.
But yeah being a Korean gamer is very imba. If you're a non-korean gamer you have to balance your game playing with earning money and your real life. If you're Korean you just sit around playing games all day eating 2 cent ramyun and becoming gosu.

Have you ever seen this?

I love Purepwnage, watched every episode more than once . I really liked his casting too, always knew he was big on RTS and SC in particular but he showed some really good analysis.

The casting was a bit shaky to start (the energy between the two) but you guys really seemed to warm up to eachother as more time went on. Considering this is Jarett's first cast (don't know about the other caster) he did a good job, and he can only improve from here.

Yeah, I found it abit ackward too, it was a combination of me trying to be abit withheld because I know people were tuning in basically only for him, so I didn't want to be talking too too much, but he was also actually nervous! <3s to Jarett haha.

i just want to say if Jarrett Cale casted tournaments on a bigger scale, my interest and my need to view these tournaments would increase twofold. And my interest was already really big to begin with, so it could ruin other parts of my life like..my life. But it is my wish :D

<3 Jarett. I haven't watched purepwnage since 2006 or so, but I have an i pwn noobs tee shirt, and a signed bandana, back when they still sold those, hah.

I hope Jarett gets into casting some. I would love to watch him casting a goofy weekend show of almost any kind, if not a big tournament. I'd also like to see him stream!

He had a web series called Pure Pwnage. It was about man claiming to be the greatest gamer out there. In each episode he would take on a different genre of games and try to become the best. If you know who Athene is, then its kind of like that. I'm pretty sure Athene got some of his inspiration/ideas from Pure Pwnage though.
