need day[9] for Code S! would be epic Moletrap + doa combo lacks the knowledge tho, they're entertaining and all that but can't really give any insight on anything like Wolf and Artosis can for example.
/facepalm
No one needs "Insight", thats bullshit. There is no "Insight" in SC2. It's all about the entertainment. I rather take Moletrap or Totalbiscuit than some retarded Pseudo-Grandmaster who is boring as hell.

I want to see all three of them do something. Dolftrap! The three-way archon!
Of course, that would probably just mean listening to Moletrap 95% of the time.

Remember when some pro casted, like Idra back in the days? That was true insight, and it was pretty nice to hear.
But I agree, we cant expect pro insight from the likes of Idra etc, so I too only want entertainment.

I don't mind it either way (insight and entertainment are both fine). When a caster lacks both though, then we have an issue. Code A/ GSTL is at a stage where it's losing viewers (or followed on mute) simply because the casting is really painful (to some).
As a sidenote, I'd love having TB in GSL ^_^

Wow really? Doa + moletrap are almost as bad as they were the first time around. They constantly interrupt each other literally midsentence and the sad part is it's necessary because they both ramble on and on without letting the other guy get a word in. They have horrible chemistry. Wolf + Moletrap is decent, Wolf + Doa is decent, but Doa + Moletrap is terrible.

What? The only reason why Wolf + Moletrap seems to "work" is because Wolf is too nice to interrupt Moletrap, but Moletrap interrupts Wolf all the time.
Moletrap is just too used to solo casting and he hasn't quite gotten the chemistry down yet. Hopefully he can improve on his co-casting skills and we'll see him settle into his role.

I absolutly don't care about the entertainement as long as I can watch games without hearing wrong stuff about it. I'd prefer people who don't talk than people being under grandmaster level, trying to explain what they try to understand in a wrong way... An entertaining guy like tasteless doesn't bother me as long as he doesn't try too hard to explain the game and let artosis do it. Artosis is sometimes wrong at understanding the game but it only happens when a terran player desn't make a very conventional build so it is understandable since he doesn't play terran at all. About doa, wolf and moletrap, my favorite is doa for the way he speaks but no one of them is good enough to be a good gsl caster, at least alone. They need someone who understands completly the game.
|
My biggest problem with Moletrap is that he doesn't bring anything new or analysis to the cast. I can accept humorous or laid-back commentary, but I cant accept just wrong reads or analysis. Especially with Doa and Moletrap, I often wonder whether they even played multiplayer in sc2.

I can't describe on how many levels this post is just wrong. Artosis/Wolf demonstrate real passion for the game by accurately explaining what is going on, what can happen, what is about to happen, etc (where many other casters fail). They spend an incredible amount of time researching/playing the game, and as a result are a level above some other casters. They can just as easily inject excitement into their voices during tense points of the match, and often do.
I don't mind moletrap and doa, but the viewing experience isn't as enjoyable when they make so many bad predictions, observing errors, and don't take the time to understand the game on a deeper level. It's mostly only a problem when the viewer is a player who can pick these things out, but that probably includes a lot of the viewership.

so much hate for moletrap in here. he gave up everything to pursue his dream in a completely different country and it's not good enough because his name isn't Artosis or Tasteless.
|
I can't watch the games that moletrap casts. His voice ruins it for me
|
I like the trio casters for Code A, it mixes up the duo every time and keeps it fresh. Moletrap is the weakest of the three in my opinion, but that doesn't mean he is bad.
|
I like moletrap because he is tolerable. Any caster who is tolerable and can bring excitement to the game is a good caster in my book!
So yeah... Keep up the good work!
|
Nice hes a good caster! Congratz Moletrap !

You're generalizing quite a bit here. I am fine with Moletrap and Doa - I don't dislike them, I can listen to them, but they're far from my favorite casters. If you listen to what Tastetosis or Idra say when they cast compared to when Moletrap/Doa is casting, you can clearly tell that the former just know more about the game, and you actually learn and realize certain things that you didn't realize before when you listen to them. I find that far more enjoyable than just enthusiastic play-by-plays with mediocre analysis. Who knows - maybe Moletrap and Doa actually have great game knowledge and just don't communicate effectively on camera for some reason. I respect them, they're cool guys, but I have clear reasons for preferring Tastetosis beyond just their identities.
