And to every person who thinks Bitter is a biased commentator, you're delusional. People hear him say things like "wow, this is such a bad situation for the zerg right now because of X", that doesn't mean, "wow, fuck that protoss or terran player for doing something imba versus zerg", it means "wow, I've played in this situation a lot and that zerg player is in trouble!"
He's bringing a level of analysis to the game that we don't get to see as often as we should in pro commentating. We're used to hearing people give their neutered "this is what's happening" casting without ever bringing the game knowledge into the equation that gives depth to casting. When Mr. Bitter says "Wow, that was such a good play from zerg, his multitask versus Protoss is unreal" you know that means something.
Did you ever listen to Day[9] cast Brood War games? He talked a ton about what the smart plays for Zerg were, or what he didn't like about what the Zerg was doing, because he played Zerg competitively at the highest levels for years, and he knew if the zerg was fucking up or doing something really good.
People love hearing IdrA commentate, do you know why? Because he knows what the fuck he is talking about. When he sees something, he'll tell you what's going to happen because of it and it will be right. He knows, and people like to hear that. Do you think GARIMTO became a commenator and didn't share his game experience in his casts? Do you think OGN Hired Nal_Ra to give a neutered commentary and never give any depth to his Protoss analysis? FUCK NO.
Stop thinking that just because a player brings some experience to the table, he's biased. Without people with real game knowledge commentating, the commentary becomes useless to all but the newest to the community. What do people expect him to cast like, fucking Chill's Neutral commentary?
Had ot got that off my chest after seeing so many hate responses because he's "biased". Gl Mr. B and it will be great (hope you keep playing competitively though) I've only seen the MLG showmatch between White-Ra and Ret and sure you're right to a extent. But he also whined quite a bit and argued alot with TLO about stuff being so bad for zerg and his cast was more or less totally focused on what Ret was doing, how good or bad it was for the zerg player instead of focusing equally on both players. From your portrait i guess you play zerg so you might not care, i have a hard time watching casts where the casting pov is very centered around one player/race. I watched that, and I can't disagree more. I didn't hear him whine once. And yes, I play zerg, but that doesn't matter. Mr. Bitter isn't unique in what he brings to the casting table. HE brings his ingame experience just as any pro player does. Did you watch HSCIII? Tyler is very much the same in his casting to protoss as Mr. Bitter is in relation to zerg. They understand that race, of course you're going to hear more about that race from that player. THat's why there are two commentators.
Agree to disagree i guess. But the standard setup is a play-by-play guy and one specialist with deep knowledge of all races. Not one guy being very race specific and another one covering the other two races.

I don't think that MrBitter is biased either, but it's nothing to do with his being some great Zerg player (you just compared him to IdrA and Day[9] lol). I've seen games where he has said the Zerg is in a terrible position because of X when really they aren't etc.
He just is used to playng the game from a zerg point of view, and so am I! This might be why I don't feel he is biased, because I may be biased myself!
Anyways, I agree with you that Mr Bitter isn't really that biased. But the logic you use to try and convince TL of that is pretty stupid.

The logic that he uses his experience from playing Zerg on a competitive level to back his casting, which doesn't make him biased? Yeah, moronic.

I've always enjoyed Mr Bitters work. From near the start of the phenomenon that is SC2 it's seemed just that for him, work. Constantly educating, training, and asking questions of the pros in order to increase his understanding of the game, but mostly Zerg. Which brings me to my next point, as a Zerg I am biased (gasp) towards Mr. Bitter and am happy to see it, and his effort, rewarded. As for his biased I enjoy that too, because to me it's mostly tongue in cheek humor in a sea full of anger on both sides of the debate that is Zerg balance.
So yeah. Congrats dude, keep being so damn happy smiley all the time, it's refreshing.

I'd rather have a Master league Zerg than a Platinum league random. Also, it appears to me that he is eager to learn the other races and takes feedback quite seriously. I like his calmness in 12 weeks with the pros, but I didn't watch it too much to say more.
Btw, he will probably cast IEM? Since ESL has two international casters now, will they still fly in Day[9] for bigger events?

Their might be the problem that Mr.Bitter isn't as known in germany or even europe compared to his status in the US, but nevertheless I guess he will convince everybody with his casting style. And also there's no alternative in europe. Name on if you can! HomerJ gotta be a joke, since he's obviously one of the worst casters ever. I guess he could be fun for guys who only speak german are very new to sc or sc2, but for someone who knows the game it's just terrible to see him missing like every drop and talking offtopic bs more than ingame-stuff. Anyways great pickup for both sides, again best of luck to you Mr.Bitter!
So unnecessary to hate in this thread, it has absolutely nothing to do with MrBitter moving to Germany.

RotterdaM and MrBitter... haha oh wow it's going to be amazing

Had ot got that off my chest after seeing so many hate responses because he's "biased". Gl Mr. B and it will be great (hope you keep playing competitively though) Well, his casting was really good and definitely not biased in TL open finals between Hack and HwangSin. Congratulations for MrBitter and I hope they both will form a good archon (DeMusliM and Rotti formed a nice archon, but I'm sure MrBitter will do quite well).

I liked his casting on NASL and I didn't feel any major bias issues that people seem to be bringing up here. I liked his analytical casting style so I think he'd work very well at ESL's studio.
Best of luck to him.

haha kind makes me mad that this guy wanted to join the clan that i had started and i never messaged him back or anything. Haha hes getting so successful in the esports world now. Gl to Flabulous!

Congrats Ben - I'm super stoked about this for you. I hope the experience doesn't end up Bitter ...haha lame joke is lame

great
rotti and him will be a great duo will be even more interesting to watch for masters players because most likely he will be very anlytical and bring some more knowledge to the table
wouldve been so great if he and day9 would cast gamescom sadly its not looking like it is going to be that way

hm, i see terran bashing incoming when zerg(mr.bitter) and toss(rotterdam) players cast together. but bitter did a great job at nasl in my opinion, so i'm looking forward to him having another shot at it!

I do think MrBitter gives a slight Z bias in his casting but that's to be expected. I'd much prefer a caster like MrBitter who can actually give strategic insight over some silly shoutcasting ^^

Welcome to the country of good beers and unfriendly people, man!

That's maybe because neither Hack nor Hwangsin are zergs?
And comparing MrBitter to someone like Idra commentating is ridicolous, he's not on the level of pros like Idra, Ret, Morrow etc. He's more like a Rotti or Wolf, aka someone that plays and understands the game on a decent level but a step or two under the pros.
