Posting this again because I guess you didnt read my reply further up the page. It appears that Eve has recieved a lot of crap from the Korean fans. Negative reactions to having a girl on the team etc. I wouldnt be suprised to see the same disparaging remarks aimed at her on TL.net  Unfortunately it seems to the mentality of the community....(ie the reaction to the female interviewers at NASL for example..)SlayerS_Jessica 김가연SlayerS_Jessica 김시윤선수 어린 선수입니다. 커뮤니티에 헛소리해대는 거 .. 강력한 처벌 드릴겁니다. 이제 새롭게 시작하는 여성게이머에게 몹쓸 소리 해대는 악플러는 죄다 처벌 할겁니다. | ||

The SlayerS team has produced the first female progamer in SC2. 14일 2011 GSTL 시즌1 주피터리그 4주차가 열리는 목동 곰TV 스튜디오 선수 대기실에 미모의 여성이 나타났다. 알고보니 이 여성은 슬레이어스에서 발굴하고 육성하고 있는 스타2 최초의 여성 프로게이머다. In the 4th week of the GSTL Jupiter League, a beautiful face appeared in the waiting room at the Gom TV studio. As I found out, this girl is a progamer who was discovered and nurtured by the SlayerS team. 올해 22세의 김시윤 선수는 ‘슬레이어스이브’라는 아이디로 활동할 계획이다. 한 아마추어 방송 대회에서 우승을 차지한 경험이 있고 다른 게임을 전문적으로 한 적은 없다고 한다. 슬레이어스의 김가연 게임단주가 실력과 미모를 높이 평가하며 직접 발굴한 것으로 알려졌다. Kim Si Yun, who is 22 this year, plans to use the ID SlayerS_Eve. She took first place in a broadcast amateur tournament, but said that she has no experience playing other games professionally. Kim Ga Yeon (Boxer's gf) said that she recruited her after being impressed with her skills and looks. 2011 GSTL 시즌1 주피터리그 4주차 슬레이어스와 TSL의 경기를 시작으로 팀에 합류한 김시윤은 “<스타크래프트 2> 명문 게임단인 슬레이어스에서 게임 할 수 있게 돼서 너무 기쁘다”는 소감을 밝힌 뒤 “초등학교 때 <스타크래프트>를 재미로 했었고, 그때 테란으로 플레이해서 <스타크래프트 2>에서도 테란을 주종족을 선택했다”고 말했다. She will be a part of the team starting from the 4th week of GSTL competition, making her first appearance in SlayerS' match against TSL. Eve stated "I'm delighted to be able to play SC2 as a part of the SlayerS team" and added that "I used to play Broodwar when I was an elementary school student, and since I played as Terran back then I decided to choose the same race for SC2". 또한 김시윤은 “팀에 합류하기 전에는 문성원 선수의 팬이었다”고 말한 뒤 “앞으로 팀원들과 함께 열심히 연습해서 팀에 보탬이 되는 선수가 되겠다”는 각오를 전했다. If Eve's play is fast (TN: I think they mean if she improves quickly) then we might even see her in this GSTL. SlayerS plans to give her a chance to play this season. | ||

I find that a bit troubling. I'm very much in favor of females being given equal opportunities and respect as progamers, but the idea of a progamer being given a slot on a prestegious team even in part because of their looks isn't okay. Especially a female progamer, since that makes a statement that detracts from the legitimacy of females as competitors in esports. That being said, congratulations to Eve! I'm looking forward to seeing what she's got. | ||

Maybe the translation made the sentence this way but I sure hope a player's looks don't come in the equation when they are selected. But this is Slayers, I think they know what they are doing. | ||
