well, at least we know it isnt costing GOMTV an arm and a leg to host this at blizzcon, in other words, its more sustainable for them. Of course, it sucks for the audience T_T but hey, with blizzard production crew around.....it could possibly look more awesome then a normal GSL finals

lol blizzcon sc2 2010 looks like a rave but yea anyone worried about the crowd for SC2... This is looking quite full and SC2 has gotten even more popular.

No problem with having a final at Blizzcon imo. GSL is the biggest and most popular Starcraft 2 league. Blizzard created Starcraft 2. Besides, all the other finals will return to Korea afterwards I'm sure

Nothing makes better finals than for the Koreans to be jet lagged. I guess it is who handles it better will succeed.

It's also a shame that the StarCraft 2 fans will be missing out on viewing it live as Blizzcon is a general Blizzard event with a large majority being World of Warcraft players and not interested in a game that is worlds apart. Hopefully it is not within Blizzcon itself but at a side event.

If GOMTV want crowd noises that bad, then fine. I however want the players to be in their best condition and fans to have the choice to go view it live.

This doesn't seem like it'd be good for promoting GSL within korea, i mean korea is only an hour behind australia time wise and blizzcon is notoriously at horrible times.

won't this hurt the GSL in korea?

If they hold it at 6,7, or 8 at night in California, that's like 10-12 in the morning in Korea. Not terribly bad, not bad like GSL is for foreigners right now where I have to stay up from 3-5am to watch it.

Holding it in blizzcon without any way for us to attend if we didnt already have tickets is sad. Only fans who had $150 to drop and enough time to camp the website at a specific time could go.

Your crowd could be 10x what it is going to be if you just find a way to let outsiders in as well

They sell out in less than 2 seconds in the 2 sales batches (no, I'm not joking). The only way to get them after the 2 sales waves and Benefit Dinner tickets (all of these sales occurred in May and maybe early June) is to hope eBay/Craigslist are good to you and to pay a lot more than face value, or get lucky and find someone who has to cancel and sells their tickets for cheap.

Yeah, I was there in person for this match as well as the finals (Genius vs Loner) and it was pretty amazing. The whole area was packed and it was tough to even get a seat for those games. The crowd's going to be pretty crazy for this one I think.

I am really hard pressed to see how this can fit in two days. Not the GSL finals itself but how it impacts Blizzcon Invitational. Expect to miss out on most of the games.
