Not sure if I want to congratulate them on doing something that was in the game 13+ years ago, but I guess better late than not at all.

I havent read all the responses, but as far as i Know, KR users also get a NA account too (correct me if im wrong)...
So that means they will have KR+TW and LA+NA on one account? THATS CHEAP

EDIT: Just notices it's SEA who gets the NA, still SEA + LA/NA

SEA will probably never be linked with other regions, SEA has a dedicated server, whereas the other regions (LA and RU and taiwan)have already used existing servers on NA,EU and KR, the only separation was the ladder, so merging them will be a soft change.

But there is a separate server present for sea, hence linking them to other regions will be a lot more complex, because one set of people connect to the SEA server, whereas the people you are linking to use another server...so how do they then play? pc connects to server, and then the servers pass information between each other, and then the server connects to the other person ? That seems like might cause a lot of problems.

But playing with the koreans would be a lot of fun(even if it is at a higher latency), would be happy if they find a way to do it

oh ok good explanation I didnt realise there were differences in setup : )

Great for asians to come together on the same server, and LA + NA is good too I guess. I hope Blizzard is really thinking about making it possible to play on all regions on 1 account. The community would benefit from it so much. In BW I met most friends from NA and all my clans was based in NA and I'm in Europe. It's a real shame that you have to pay up 30-40 bucks extra for another copy of WoL if you want that experience in SC2.

In terms of lag, all those servers being merged are apparently already on the same server as NA, EU, SK.

Also cheating won't get out of hand probably.

Cheating probably got out of hand because Blizzard doesn't really pay much attention to LA or RU >.>. Now that they're being merged, they'll probably be less hackers (at least the detectable ones) due to Blizzard really paying attention to the more popular servers.

I've had a lot of terrible experiences with LA servers in WoW. I feel like the serious LA players always choose to play on English realms, so for the most part only noobs are left on the LA realms.

I rarely play team gamers in SC2 though, so whatever.

Seriously though, as long as this doesn't cause lag issues I don't see an issue with it.

Wtf did I just read.

Nice for Blizzard to be doing this, sorely needed for players in those fringe regions.

Now cross-realm please =)

Do I have to state the same thing again and again about WoW?
WoW =/= SC2, both were made by blizzard BUT the community is really different.

Wow interesting i would want to play a LA player see how things are. But how is the language barrier going to work lol, i'll be bming someone who wont know what im saying xD

Edit* i didnt play HoN long but what my friends who did tell me was always make a game name that said "NO BRAZILLIANS" because they apparently sucked and didnt know english well. Lets hope this doesnt happen on SC2

edit: Gonna assume that this is intended to cut costs of server maintenence. There is probably a lot of overhead with keeping a server running, regardless of how many people are using it, and EU/NA/KR probably had the capacity to continue running just fine despite the increased population.

I'm also hoping that they are making some level of upgrades to their server software/hardware to give them the confidence.

Would you please show some information you gathered to post this position?
As a LA player, I haven't found cheating nor lag, plus, LA server is held in the same server as NA one afaik.

You're just stating your personal thoughts, they may be valid, but you have no proof to show that LA or RU is a massive cheater/lagger community, it depends on the ISP mostly, so, it's different for every player, at least, for me, I never had lag/cheat issues in LA.

Just one week for the server merging and get positioned on silver probably :D.

From my experience most people using hacks in WC3 were from Russia and SA, even though the actual developers usually weren't.

no offense x6Paramore, but the only thing that changes for NA is there are more players. Do you even talk to your opponents more than the standard glhfgg?

When have you ever heard ANYTHING about the LA server? Ever hear of Fenix? or Capoch? I hear those guys are pretty good and they're from LA server. Plus alot of the top LA players already play in NA and it's actually more rare for them NOT to already have an NA account.

Such ignorance, ugh...

So basically... we got jipped.. since we will have no new players come out of LA while Korea + Europe will probably have at least couple hundred thousand... meanwhile..everybody from LA server "mostly already has NA" ...

My original post still stands.

If I had remembered correctly, didn't Russia have a Pay-to-play thing going on? Similar to WoW except for StarcraftII?

lol, I laughed so hard...I've played Ragnarok for so many years and I know that most brazillians are really annoying but like every other country can have it's annoying people.
I hope that the region linking improves the gaming experience for all.

The Russians are coming :O. I just hope SC2 can one day get the same options we had in wc3 where you could just choose servers. Maybe one day.
Furthermore, I think the Collosi should be removed! (Zorgaz -Terran/AbrA-Random/Zorg-Dota2) Guineapigs <3
