Hong Jin Ho (Yellow) made an appearance in GSL July.
Yellow, who retired very recently, appeared on stage recently through GSL July Code A player introductions. Yellow did the "ID Call" during the GSL July Code A Round of 8 on the afternoon of the 4th.
Yellow had his retirement ceremony this past June 25th and ended his 10 year career as a Progamer. GomTV suggested that Yellow do the "ID Call", and Yellow agreed. Yellow's ID Call was filmed this past Saturday (the 2nd) at Gretech.
Yellow, during the filming, said that "The ID Call filming is really interesting and different", and remarked that "I would like help out in the Starcraft 2 leagues in any way possible"
Meanwhile, the ladder ID "SlayerSYellow" had become the topic of conversation recently, spreading rumors about whether or not Yellow transitioned to Starcraft 2. Regarding this rumor, SlayerS had remarked that the rumors are baseless.
Saw this today while rewatching the games, very cool. I thought it was funny how embarrassed Wolf was when qxc pointed out that Yellow would be wearing yellow since Wolf didn't recognize that it was Yellow who was doing the ID calls.
Unfortunately, I think if yellow were to transition to starcraft 2, we would have heard the rumors of him playing with one team or another. The SlayerS rumor turned out to be just only the rumor, so it would be good if maybe we hear another rumor.
I just thought it was really cool for him to do something for the GSL. If he switches over, that's great. But if he doesn't, then it shouldn't be a big deal.
I felt so embarrassed for wolf & qxc haha. It was funny though, they went from criticizing his reoccurring "fist bump" to being like.. "oh shit.." It's like criticizing a guy in an I AM GOD T-Shirt for his silly T-Shirt, who's actually god. lol

The Chinese casters recognized him immediately. Yellow has a pretty distinct look, imo.
i think we all need to give it some time, if YellOw is getting involved in SC2 it obviously means he still wants to be part of the scene, whether or not he becomes part of the staff or part of one of the teams who knows, it takes a bit of time to get used to the mechanics of sc2 as well, so maybe he will see how good sc2 is in the coming months and want to start playing again. will be awesome if he did :D

No doubt some certain members of the Korea media will reprobate this news. I thought it was very impressive by GOM to ask him to announce the players, almost respectfully so.
I would imagine a 10 year career would instil a great depth of knowledge about large scale RTS tournament success; so Yellow working with SC2 can't be a bad thing? Even if simply for his name hehe
i must be the only one who thinks yellow should not switch to playing sc2
however I'm not against him still being involved in esports and i actually like the name i.d idea (although they really need to work on trigger timing it right)

if yellow and reach switch over...oh man, I might like sc2 more then scbw as blasphemous as it sounds. I think the greatest thing about scbw is that we love the players, the legends, they are bigger then the game. I am not a scbw fan as much as a stork/bisu/reach/boxer....etc fan and will cheer them on no matter what. When sc2 reaches that cult level, it has truly become the worthy successor of bw

Heh, it's probably a lot more likely that Nal_rA or reach will come over long before high code a/code s powerhouses like Stork (slump or not) or Bisu. Just look at "The elephant in the Room". Can you imagine those guys making GSL level money as salary and then giving it up for a game where every couple of weeks, they find out that one of their favorite units has been nerfed or altered? lol. Of course there's also the "wth, zergbong just made $200,000 USD in the last year? sign me up!" side of it though haha.

Nal_ra is still in milatary service so he isn't making much, and he has shown a lot of interest in sc2, I can't wait to see the dreamer in GSL <3
