Ryung won the wild card tournament, and receives an up/down match spot.
Due to Rain's withdrawal from the GSL, there's one spot remaining in the Up/Down matches this season. GomTV has decided to award the spot to the winner of a wild card tournament between the players who LOST in the RO16 in the current Code-A.
The matches will be held at 13:00 Korean Time, July 4th. The games will not be broadcasted.
Wild card is really wild, since this mini tournament is given to a specific set of players only Oo It could have been a blessing in disguise for the eventual wild card winner to lose in RO16 Code A.

Maybe Artosis helped him find that Subway Sheth mentioned he was trying to find.
More seriously, he has to stay at least until FXO has finished in the GSTL. I imagine he might as well participate. If he doesn't make it, no big deal. If he gets the spot, by the time the Up&Down matches come he may have adjusted to the lifestyle and want to stay if he makes Code A. At least, that's my thinking.

Gogogo Ryung!
I think you misunderstood, the winner of this will play in the up/down matches with the RO16 winners and 4th place finishers from code S. There is no benefit to having lost in the RO16.
Check vs Sheth OUCH Sheth is known for having less than stellar ZvZ, but I hope he practices as hard as possible so he can overcome it. Predictions from myself:

I've never seen him play, but i'm cheering for him because of his name. (Which i think is a reference to Nujabes who is a boss) Though someone who names himself like that has got to be good.

They're still in Code A, and besides Sheth will leave regardless (according to ^ post)...
This is very cool. Considering how much the average Code A player has improved, it's good to see the Ro16 losers compete for a potential spot in Code A. Best of luck Jinro!
Ghostfoot, I would have done that. I wanted to play in it and just have the experience. GSL wanted me to as well. However I wasn't given the time so I couldn't play in it. All good though! Go Jinro! : )

Jinro FIGHTING!!! Don't choke this time!
well if sheth wins this (and the up and down matches) he won't be in Code A, so we'll see. But if he decides to participate in this I guess he wants the code s spot. Wouldn't make sense otherwise since to money is on the line

no he cant, he doesnt play well lately, does he? why u still root for him? I dont find him being talented but he's good.. not good enough for code S though
I suggest people drop some tweets to @gomtv -- they need to know that we are interested in this kinda stuff and they should at least pass this off to a partner to broadcast. Even if they tweeted the results that would be cooler than nothing at all! Go go Sheth and Jinro, make the most of this opportunity!

So you will Root for someone that is ONLY the best?
Dude, You have no idea what so ever what competition really is. Or what it means to be a fan of someones.

no, u got me wrong. I root for those I find unique and talented, I always rooted for mc, mvp, sc and maybe someone else.. for foreigners too but only when they're not terrible :D its good for u to root for him, but after such bad games for long time I cant root for certain persons

The term is fair weather fan. If you only support people when they're doing well, you're just on the bandwagon. Jinro showed unique and talented plays on his run to two semis, and I'm confident he will do so again.

you misunderstand they don't get an automatic code s spot from this they get a spot in the up and down matches, which is what they would have got had they not lost in the ro16

Well if he gets into code S he gets $1400 even if he's KO'd in first round, which is the same prize money as winning the whole code A

It's obvious, Sheth likes his sandwiches. Sheth like his food! Look at his size!
In his interview, he said he did not like the food. Actually, he said, "getting used to the food." (Korean food is so deliciious, American food sucks, personal opinion)

Which means he didn't even compete in this tournament so clearly can't qualify.

Gogogo Ryung!
It's a wild card to play in the up and down matches, people who won their RO16 match are already qualified for the up and downs, so there was absolutely no point in loosing the RO16 games ^^.

The winner of this tournament has an equal chance as a ro8 player. they arent giving a code S spot. They are giving away Rain's spot in the up and down matches since he finished bottom of group A (due to ff loss)

I think they have it so that nobody is guaranteed the spot, but that they get a chance to play the up/down matches in place of Rain.

They dont get a Code S spot, Rain went 0-2 by not showing up to his code S group, so he is down to the Up/Down matches, the winner gets Rain's Up/Down spot. Just as if they had qualified for the ro8.

its actually worse than if they qualified for ro8, cause they only get 1 shot @ code s, instead of 2 like the code A ppl

That's now how they do Up/Downs anymore. They put everybody into 3 groups of 5, play round robin, and the top 2 from each group goes to code S.

Oh true, i guess its even more fair then

I don't understand what you mean you weren't given the time so you couldn't play in it? Wouldn't they tell all players when this was happening? How were 7 other players given time, but not you? Plus you live in the gom house which is across the street from the studio so you could get there fastest out of all players.
This is hard, I want all 4 to win, Jinro and Sheth obviously, Tails for his awesome PvP, and Ryung because of his TvT and general likeness of all SlayerS players
Jinro the gods have smiled upon you and given you this glorious chance to restore your former glory. Don't let it go to waste.........for me for you FOR ALL FOREIGN TERRANS
Go Sheth, go Jinro! I am so happy I decided to purchase a season pass for July. Though I was under the impression Sheth would not attend GSL in August together with the rest of FXOpen?
Shame the Jinro couldn't claw his way into a shot at Code S again. Too bad Gisado or someone else couldn't cast this but ah well. We have another entrant to up and down matches and gl to Ryung
What was the score of the Sheth match? In the image, it shows 2:0 or 2:1 for all the other matches but for the match with Sheth there are some characters instead of the score.
