Evil Geniuses MCSL Season V Finals Weekend Hosted by Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham and Greg "IdrA" Fields
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. – June 24th, 2011. - Today Evil Geniuses (EG), North America's premier professional gaming team and a world leader in e-Sports, is excited to announce the Master's Cup Series Season V Finals Weekend to take place July 2-3. Marcus "djWHEAT" Graham will continue his hosting duties at the broadcast desk alongside Evil Geniuses’ own Greg "IdrA" Fields. Greg will be providing his expert-analysis and commentary for all the games of the Finals Weekend.
"It has been a very exciting season," commented Scott "SirScoots" Smith, CEO of Evil Geniuses. "If the playoffs have even a fraction of the intensity and competitiveness we witnessed in the regular season, we are in for an exhilarating weekend."
Since May 1st, eight of the world’s best StarCraft II teams have been battling it out for seven weeks in the hopes of qualifying for the Finals Weekend featuring the top four teams. Mousesports, FnaticMSI, Team Dignitas, and compLexity Gaming secured their spots in the playoffs and have now earned the right to compete for a piece of the $10,000 prize pool.
The format for the Finals Weekend is that of a double-elimination tournament with every series being a best-of-three match. Much like the regular season, each match will have a pre-determined set of maps with the exception of the Grand Finals. In the Grand Finals, the team that advanced from the Winners bracket will have the opportunity of choosing every map from the official map pool including the ACE map if needed.
The broadcast will be produced by OneMoreGame.TV and will be available at http://www.onemoregame.tv or http://www.twitchtv.com/onemoregametv. Spectators will be able to tune in to the free high-definition broadcast on both July 2nd and 3rd at 9:00am PDT / 12:00pm EDT / 4:00pm UTC for the pregame show. All teams from 2th to 6th place with 4:3 stats. Thats what I call close results. Too bad EG didn't manage to qualify. GL & HF, I love watching 2v2. More 2v2 please.(Axslav & StrifeCro fighting!)
I really enjoyed the league so far, I would be ROOTing but with the departure of KiWiKaKi, I don't think that coL has any players who can reliably win the Ace and one of the 1v1s versus some of the best players in the world
I don't get why nobody made a big deal out of match fixing so sixjax wouldn't get to top 4. Sad. I am not gonna watch this shit because of that. Good luck have fun match fixing fnatic. Lost a fan in me

There was a whole thread about this. Go post in there assuming it's not already locked, otherwise nobody cares.
To the OP, I love the thought of IdrA casting with Wheat, they seem to mesh really well as a player and caster.
What fnatic/dignitas did to sixjax has stripped all the respect I had for them away. Preeeeety disappointing I must say. Intentionally throwing a match is a scumbag thing to do.
I think when an entire team makes a conscious decision to rig a match it's much worse than what select did vs mc. Select didn't effect anyone else's ability to participate in nasl by throwing games 2 and 3 vs mc whereas sixjax lost a spot they would have most likely been able to take if it wasn't thrown.

They didn't rig anything, don't make hyperbolic accusations. They were guaranteed a playoff spot so they didn't take their match as seriously, happens all the time.
The teams don't know the results in advance according to Xeris, they weren't actively trying to screw over anyone, keep your outrage for moments when it's warranted.
It happens in a league format.

Can you give it a rest, when even the Sixjax players know that's not what happened. Stop with the slander, seriously.

No, whatever you guys did was complete and utter bullshit. Forever lost respect to those teams.

Also, not that Fnatic really did anything either, but what the fuck did Dignitas do to Sixjax? lol

What was bs about it? The fact that Fnatic had already made it in and as such didn't have to worry about the rest of the games? Or the fact that sixjax should've won more if they wanted to make it?

It's just amazing how some people chose to stick with believing the worst no matter how many times they get the situation explained. It's like talking to a wall.
On topic, grats to all four teams making it to the playoffs! Gogo Complexity, we are rooting for you!

I'm curious about this as well, we lost 0-3 to Sixjax, so I'm quite confused.

The original poster misspoke when they included Dignitas in the issues from last week.

Xeris you need to stop running your mouth on forums so much.
The guys at EG that I know wouldn't screw Sixjax over like this. I don't know who actually made the final decision, but you're a piece of shit. ViBE, DDE, and MajOr put in retarded amounts of effort and didn't deserve this nonsense.

I find it funny that people are trying to point the finger at other teams that sixjax didn't make the playoffs. If they really wanted it they could have just tried harder and win more. Just because fnatic ended up losing(intentional or not) should have nothing to do with a DIFFERENT team making it. In the end it's sixjax's fault for not posting better or more consistant results for them to qualify
In the end i would just like to say next season, if fnatic makes the playoffs to please hold sixjax's hand and try and help them make it as well because apparently the fans believe that without your help they can't take their own wins and secure their own playoff spot.
