Weird strategy though. Went top-heavy with their top 3 players - qxc/Sheth/Oz - and try to win without having to rely on some of their weaker players. Unfortunately once qxc lost 0-1 without winning a game it became incredibly hard to accomplish what they were trying to do....Sheth going 1-1 and Oz going 1-1 was good for them but not for team...to have won that with qxc 0-1, they would've had to go 2-1 each, and I could see Sheth going 2-1 with the win against Curious but then Oz would've had to fight Bomber first and then probably July....not happening. Still, <3 Sheth and Oz for taking a game off Startale. Disappointed with qxc for not taking a game off ST , Tiger is just a regular solid protoss...could've picked him apart with qxcdrops but they never came...sigh. The early game pressure was also so juvenile, few marines picked off here and there for no reason. ): ): ):

So, we had Oz and sheth to choose from. Our other players wouldn't have beaten the execution style strategies that tiger was dishing out. He played 2 strats that were purely (if this works i win, if it doesnt i cant come back). As you saw in sheths game, once he failed his all in, he lost. Sheth would have had a hard time vs bomber, so he went out next. And it would also mean they wouldnt send july out cos julys zvz is pretty bad. So we lined it up so that they would send out another protoss, curious wasn't expected and is very good. Unfortunately, sheth wasnt very familiar with the map he was playing on, but put up a good fight. So then we have a z left in.. Do I risk going 3-1? its better to keep it tight in this situation so they really do have to bring out the big guns. After Oz came out, he beat curious (curious knocked him out of code A quals 2 seasons ago). So he got some revenge + kept the scores even...I have results on ladder to say that bomber and july weren't going to be the hardest player. I was expecting them to send our squirtle, and I thought that Oz would win, he played mechanically better than squirtle, but the strategy exchange on PVP is sometimes very unforgiving. I was hoping that instead of squirtle, ace would come out, as their ace. It didn't happen. But squirtle is good anyway. Finally Moonan went out as our final player because he was safer on the maps we had left than tgun and slog. But nerves got to him. The best part of what happened in the GSTL is now the players have the experience in the studio, so next game the nerves wont be much of an issue. I hope this helps with my decision making.

You guys played the match well. There's a lot of comparative strategy choices that'll happen. Btw, Sheth & Oz did kill it in their first games. Sheth's hold on Metalpolis was nuts. If Squirtle goes anything but DTs, Oz beats him hands down (his micro was really good there, too, btw). I was also expecting Bomber as their Ace for today. Limits the risk for a ZvZ matchup for July. Hopefully, everyone has the nerves issues mostly worked out. It was pretty noticeable. But it's a topic that Tastosis always talk about, so you guys actually handled it pretty well. The scary bit is FXO is only 3 total map wins behind Prime in GSTL. No joke, they're at 5 total wins through 3 seasons. (fOu was @ 5 until last night). Should also probably be noted that getting Sheth out there early will help him for Code A this coming week.
