Fucking disgusting how terrible this community is 96,557 subbed to the starcraft reddit,16146 stream viewers on TL, judges the whole community based on a few posts. Terribly community indeed >_> A few posts? Do you not visit this site or reddit often? I'd like to see some proof its a vocal minority. Certainly those posting are a minority (I wouldn't even add the qualifier "most of the time" as you do), but for all we know most people who don't post could be reading and generally agree with the negativity.

Ok, Please let me just state. You do not know anything about Day9, Idra, Naniwa, Any other contreversial figure unless you've talked, met and had a very long conversation over a long period of time. Other than that you are all gossiping like little school girls on some big name celebrity. You are taking "OH MY GOD HE IS MAKING MONEY" as a sex scandal in a magazine. As we grow as a community this will obviously happen. People will hate the changes or like em or be neutral. What really matters is that we all play nice. Now people can rage at forums, type angrily on their keyboards, or not. Either get educated, learn, be patient, inquisitive, and so on. But honestly, we know nothing about them. And everything everyone says on this forum is a guess, an assumption, an opinion. Therefore:
GROW UP
We are a Starcraft 2 Community. The community said to be MATURE. How is this mature? Squabbling about how people are making money. Lost their passion. Arguing about who said what. Why some people have more money than others.
The world isn't fair people. I've worked at place where my co-workers we're renting room apartments and living off cup of noodles. I have had classmates who came from pretty well off families. Some of them were arses. Some of them were great. But you just have to accept you cannot stereotype ANYONE, based off speculation. I KNOW Day9 BUT I do not know Sean Plott.
We do not know what goes on in his head. We do not know how much money he makes. It is not his job to inform us. He cannot bend to our every desire. We need to Grow Up. Accept what he gives us.
AND BE GRATEFUL
Look at what Teamliquid gives us. A forum, constant updates, streams, access, coverage. We should be PRAISING the GOOD in our community rather than just Shitting on it. I mean come on, We already have enough crap outside the world, why Cant we just for once have all around happiness for everyone in the community.
Is it really too hard to ask to just STOP flaming, STOP hating and just learn to accept and give critique.
Can we stop calling people fake, washed up, rager, hater, troller, etc. and Just bond together as a community.
If its really that difficult, how are we mature?
How are we going to be able to build an Industry around people who are just angry about making money, acting, etc.
Passion goes on and off. People go on and off. But what remains is the community. We are what makes up Starcraft 2 and E-sports in general. If we really want to make a better e-sports, shoudlnt we look at ourselves to improve it?
Thanks for listening :D TlDR: Lets all get along and stop the hate

The problem is that most of us readers who recognize the bitching and whining as stupidity also realize the futility of trying to respond to it, it just baits more trolls and haters while wasting your time and dragging yourself into their lowly mud.

SirScoots says 2GD went on a tirade, only thing 2GD said was: "Day9 has done allot for esports...and himself". Seems more like a joke towards Day9 than a tirade...
anyways Scoots is a tard and I still don't know why people are going mental about this and blowing it up, but everyone sure loves some drama.

The statement from 2GD is interesting since the same thing can be applied to 2GD himself. Is that a bad thing for either of them? Nope.

To give James the benefit of the doubt, he ought to know that. It might be just another instance of James being James and reddit happily jumping unto it.

If someone would say the same thing about 2GD, I wouldn't care neither but the fact remains that the community loves to make drama and anyone with a bit of brain knows that any personality in esports like Day9, 2DG and even you Totalbiscuit has to work a shitload to make all this content that you do every day of the week.
Tip of the day: Use your own brain to make your own conclusion and don't go mental.

Aeroplaneoverthesea, you're literally the most absurd person I've encountered all day. There are all these facts available to you, and you bothered to seek out precisely none of them. Let's just go over some of the more ridiclous things you've said here.
He adds absolutely nothing to any discussion on any shows he attends (not the he really does them anymore unless he has a product to sell (i.e the latest Red Bull foray into Esports or the After Hours Gaming League, which is terrible by the way, but Day9 doesn't care because he's making money from it) other than to be 100% positive about everything and anything because he wouldn't want to ruin his public image by having an opinion on something.
So uh, I don't know if you knew this, but Day[9] does this show Sunday through Thursday, it's called the Day[9] Daily. In it, he analyzes professional replays, and uses his extensive knowledge of Starcraft 2 to dissect the game and use it as a teaching experience. How can you sit there and imply with a straight face that Day[9] doesn't care about the scene, or the game, or doesn't contribute, when he still puts on this show, and it's still immensely useful? Like, I don't know where you got the notion that the daily was stale, but it helps a lot of people, myself included, learn more about the game. It's not like the whole daily is his face drinking a can of Red Bull. If you watch it with a pen and paper, you DO learn something.
You do understand that the AHGL is a charity event, don't you? And that he actually SPENDS money on it? Actually, here's the liquipedia article on it, maybe it will explain it better than I can:
The After Hours Gaming League (AHGL) is a team league that puts leading technology companies in competition at StarCraft 2 for both fun and a $5,000 grand prize donation by Day[9]TV to the winner's charity of choice.
In Sc2 his number one priority is taking pay cheques from big business to make Sc2 or any general gaming related content (he's not really bothered what they want from him anymore provided esports dollars are changing hands).
I'm also curious as to why you think you know a person's motivations. If you're psychic, you should probably tell us now. The world needs your power.
Day9/the panel completely ignoring the distinction between getting into esports for the money (which clearly Day9 didn't) and becoming a corporate shill once the money comes in (which imo Day9 has become).
Which part of being a "corporate shill" is a bad thing for an industry that needs sponsorship dollars to expand? Is it the corporate part? Where do you think the money is going to come from? Donations? Small businesses? Finding pennies on the street?
Please, explain to me how we are going to grow esports without corporate connections.
Exceptions to this include Artosis, Wolf, DjWheat, Khaldor and CatzPyjamas who regardless of their casting or playing ability definitely follow the scene as much as they can and watch everything because they love the game.
I don't know if you knew this, but there is a limited amount of time in each day. I know you think that somebody who "really loved the scene" would just "watch everything even if they were really busy," but if you don't sleep enough every night, and don't get enough time to yourself to do things that are not related to your job, you burn out. I don't know if you know what real burnout feels like, but it prevents you from, er, working. Day[9] frequently mentions that he is absurdly busy (which is unsurprising as he has his hands in so many things). He needs time to rest, too.

It comforts me that there actually mature and rational people like you around. Keep posting, who knows, someday people might grow up/calm down and see your behavior and view points as an example.

This whole Day9 hate thing is such an embarrassment.
What, no one has said a racial slur for a bit, so we have to cannibalize someone to feed the machine?
Community just wants personalities. It wants to suck the life out of them, then spit them out. Day9 makes questionable decision: !!!!!!! News! People make questionable decisions. Get over it. He's done so much, Idra points out, he's done so much that he didn't want to talk about it. We should, as mature people, be able to forgive a personality for a bad decision when they've done so much for us. His payment or non-payment is a non-issue. Personally, I love computers, I'm in IT....But I wouldn't be here if I weren't being paid, we all have to eat.
Stop trying to be cool by harping on problems with the relatively good personalities in the community. You're just going to make them go away.
