Personally I don't see the point in wearing only a jacket when you're breaking the dress code connected to a jacket. I absolutely got the point the caller was trying to make which is "make it easier for me to show this to my peers". When you're wearing a jacket at least tuck your shirt in, and so on... to me those are "obvious" problems which are easy to fix. Overhyping is Day9's signature and his attitude towards critique (you’re just a stranger so I'm not going to care that you think I scream too much) and fan following doesn't help either. Ending sentences with "man" is not good and a jacket won't make it more professional. Same with the second casting area which was extremely dark. Again, to me this is an obvious issue, yet it wasn't dealt with. And no, I don't think it's ok to boo at valid critique or call your viewers "kiddos" (JP), even though I enjoy the shows in general.

I don't know that that's a really accurate description of how he evaluates criticism. He's talked pretty extensively about the idea that his product is his personality, and that trying to alter his personality to fit some imagined idea of what he might think people want him to be is just a way to wind up awkward and unfocused. Also, I think it's probably fair to say that he receives constant, wildly divergent feedback anyway.

I sort of took two things I heard him say out of context. One is that if a stranger sends him negative feedback he ignores it (as opposed to personal feedback), the other that once he had his volume too high on accident so he disregards "you're too loud" feedback. It's the issue of whispering, whispering, SCREAMING, SCREAMING, whispering. And of course in tournaments overhyping - as the caller said, one time he interrupted djWHEAT with some "oh my god oh my god look gas" type of screaming. Long story short, he's just too flamboyant for my taste. In some cases it's really funny (“LEARN TO SING”), in most cases it's just irritating (similarly to incontrol trying to be funny - he does it too much so that half the time he's just rude and annoying, you can't expect every joke you say to be funny and trying to tell a joke in every statement will bite you in the behind).

Considering that this is "esports" it is funny how little attention that gets while 1.6 and quakelive that have had dying scenes for years and have 2 events a year get an hour on the show on a regular basis. Kind of sad that halo/cod gets more coverage from a show that claims to be about competitive gaming, considering the dota genre is by far the biggest competitive scene overall and has been for years.
