You will pay $5 for 4 days of play, but $25 for 25 days play is too much?
Hey would you look at that, a dollar a day. before you were paying $1.25.
There were also be more 1-sided stomp matches that just aren't worth watching.
I'll probably just try and tune in live.

Maybe someday the GSL will get with the fucking program and stop charging us... na that's never gonna happen. At least there's Dreamhack!
Yes, they should just provide daily SC with English commentary, HQ, etc. for free. They aren't a business or anything.
Derp.

I think it's a bit expensive compare ted to GSL
|
This all depends on if Tastosis is casting every game. If they aren't, it isn't worth the $25!
|
I would also support a monthly fee, the quality and timing of the GSL events is hard to quantify at this time whereas great events like MLG and Dreamhack allow for concentrated bursts of amazing play for around the same price. More games isn't necessarily better when I have to sort through all of the bad content myself. As of now It's looking to me like I will be getting old VODs and watching if I hear good things and spend my money elsewhere for now.
|
I'm not sure if I'll purchase the ticket for the GSTL, but if I do, I'm likely to skip the GSL. I haven't watched too much of it lately anyway.
I'd also like GOM to up the quality of their "HQ" stream a bit. As it is, it's not really what I'd consider HQ.
|
LQ rules no need for HQ!
I think OP misses 2 categories at the poll; "cheap, I'll purchase" and "cheap, I won't purchase"
|
Wow going to have to share this with friends, the price is ridiculous IMO. The only tournaments I will pay $25 for are super long ones such as NASL. So yeah, too expensive but "I" will still "buy" it.

5 times the content. But not five time the excitement. In the old format, any series one team would bite the dust.

They can't continue doing these shows for practically nothing forever. $25 is less than a pizza and a movie at the theater here in sweden. I'll pay cause GOM produces the best matches with the best casters.

Note to self: Never move to Sweden
Those are some pretty high prices :\

Those comparisons are silly, refer to earlier post. If the price works for you, that's great, but drawing such comparisons to pizza and a movie is a little bizarre to me since there are dozens of other instances you could think of which would be cheaper or more expensive based on what you choose.

What is the meaning of the quotation marks around "I" and "buy"?

Id sooner not buy code s/a than give up GSTL!

Please don't tell me you guys don't realize GSTL lasts like 3-4 months.. Sigh.. this thread is retarded.
I'm buying it.
|
I think I might just buy the team league and skip the GSL ticket.
|
For the hours of entertainment, $25 is incredibly cheap
|
Hmm, a hard decision to make. I think I'll just try to catch the games live and hope I don't miss anytihng good

Some interesting posts from the Reddit thread:
GSTL May: 7 sets, $5 (w/ ads). 71 cents per set. GSTL Season 1: 30 regular + 5 playoff sets, $25. Also 71 cents per set. It's an even better deal if you get the ad-free rate.
4 3-month team leagues per year:$120 12 1-month individual leagues per year: $120 You're not paying any more than you would if you were buying individual league passes, and gstl has historically been the better tournament. http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/i20n8/im_hesitent_to_buy_this_season_of_gstl_anyone_else/

I'm afraid this will be the first season of anything GSL related since season 1 of the open tournament that I'll be skipping. It might be slightly more bang for my buck[s], but it's still way more than I what I want to spend in 1 go.

The only difference is that GSTL>GSL. Still gunna buy both, going to request 2 more shifts from my boss.
