Old GSTL is 7 series (2 per day times 3 days, plus 1 final) 5 times the content.

For not being in as good of a financial situation, where i can mindlessly throw a way $25 dollars with out thinking about it first. When GSL, And GSTL were 10, and 5 dollars respectively, they gave me an insane amount of utility for their price. There was nothing in the world at that price, that i could buy to match the amount of utility received from buying GSL and GSTL tickets. However now that the price is 25, its not nearly the blow out it was, I could buy something for 25 dollars and realize decent utility from it. Given that GSTL would probably win out, though its certainly worth thinking about the potential opportunity cost i'm giving up at the new price.

This may be five times the content and five times the price, but how many matches are going to make a difference once the playoff scenario starts to take shape? I figured the GSTL was going to be around $20 since it's three months long and all, and I was also hoping for some sort of GSL/GSTL package deal for maybe $25 or $30 at the most. At this point if I want to purchase everything it's going to be $35 this month? It's not that I can't afford it, I just don't know if I can justify it. You said you're not willing to part with 25 bucks easily as you are 5. He said since you're 5, as in five years old, he can imagine parting with 25 dollars isn't easy. I thought it was funny, anyway.

This seems like a reasonable answer. On one hand, I can see GOM really trying to up the production value of the GSTL, which probably will be more expensive over a longer period of time. On the other hand, the GSTLs have been extremely popular with viewers and have been creating some of the best games of SC2 ever played. Consequently, I suppose that it would be profitable for GOM to raise the price considering the huge demand and popularity for the GSTL. Although quite a few people will opt out due to the price increase, I think GOM expects some amazing games to lure them back in.

Just because $25 is nothing to you doesn't mean its nothing to everyone else.

I don't waste my time with baseball/NBA same reason got a life to lead. esports is about speed and instant gratification and it's not like players need to sit in a hot tub for a couple days to heal after a game, esports built for multiple games a day. My fav format is 3 days dreamhack/mlgs etc

For what .. at least 1-2 hours per day Honestly, some people can never be pleased I'm so sick of these retarded comparisons for everything, make an apt comparison to something else in the same spectrum. I can just as easily say, "You can pay $20 for a video game with 100 hours of content, this is a total rip-off" or "You could pay $40 for a single meal at a restaurant, this is a great deal". It's not exactly the same, you could compare it to bloody television shows, or Hulu's access to shows for free, or the like, don't make these comparisons because there are dozens that can be made that make it seem like a good/bad/horrible/amazing deal depending on which one you choose. On topic: There's so much Starcraft 2 content around right now, and so much available for free or at a very low price that this, with $40 for an ad free experience seems like a bit of a stretch in comparison. The GOM has always provided some of the best production values but I still don't know if it can justify this price for VODs, particularly for me since I generally like watching content live if at all possible, since the GSTL is on in the middle of the night, it's slightly problematic but it's still not enough motivation to shell out for a non-ideal situation for watching games. I'd pay more for a live experience or deal with large numbers of ads for something like MLG which is on at a decent hour, but 25-40 dollars for something I'll be watching primary/entirely through VODs doesn't really work for me since I prefer watching things live and it's a non-ideal format.
