As you surely know FXO will participate in the upcoming GSTL as the first non-Korean team ever.
We'll pick questions from the community and have an interview with all the FXO guys soon.
The list of players that will be participating in the team league from team FXO are:
Shawn "FXOSheth" Simon - USA / Zerg Kevin "FXOqxc" Riley - USA / Terran Karl "FXOpTiKzErO" Angeles - Canada / Protoss MinGyun "FXOmOoNan" Kim - USA / Terran Andrew "FXOSLoG" An - USA / Protoss Phil "FXOFilthy" Edwards - Australia / Terran Wolf “FXOWolf" Schröder - Stream and Media / Protoss / GSL Caster Bradley "FXOtgun" Seymour - Australia / Zerg
If there's anything you'd like to know, go ahead and ask!
Past GSTLs have seemed to encourage a fair bit of post-game jeers/taunts upon crushing one's opponent. Have the FXO teammembers been preparing any particularly glorious victory parades, or will we see only shy, stoic foreigners to accentuate their mighty accolades?
With a lot of talk about Korea being a bastion of hard competition, there is also a lot of talk about the Korean metagame being behind the rest of the world. How do you think the level of competition will be comparatively (honestly, not hyped)? If its higher, do you think you have to rely on more creative play styles to compensate?
What are your opinions on the custom maps used in the GSL (ie Terminus, BelShir Beach, Crevasse, etc.) compared to custom maps used in NA/EU, and recently Korea like Testbug, Neo Enigma, etc. ?
will any of your players be playing in the standard GSL? I think Sheth has seeding into GSL code A from mlg, will any of your players be trying/qualifying automatically?
On June 14 2011 12:54 Tanatos wrote: According to GOMTV GSTL schedule, FXO is only playing for week 1 to week 5. Why?
I'm guessing it's scheduled like that so that the team is only committed for ~5 weeks to GSTL and if they don't make the playoffs, then they can start making plans to go home.
Question to Filthy, do you practice with your North American FXO teammates? If so, is that a pain for you? Or do you just practice locally with mOOnGLaDe/iceiceice/tgun?
Also for the team in general, why no GLaDe and iceiceice in Korea?
EDIT: Another question, are you still looking to make your roster deeper? How many players from FXO will live in Malaysia? Will you be interested in perhaps picking up some local players there?
How do we get a job as part of the FXO esports organization.
Is Sheth really the coolest nicest guy ever or is he actually the most sinister evil character ever, but a true evil genius in that he is luring all of us into a lover submission be4 he breaks all of our hearts ?
Will you prepare snipers for notably strong players? Or even beyond that, will you have a plan for every notable player for each time?
Are you in it to win it? Or is every player going to get their fair shot over the coming tournament?
Have FXO players done any specific training for the GSTL? Or is it the standard training schedule?
Finally: have your players familiarised themselves with the GomTV maps adequately? In the event of a loss, what players will typically go with what maps? (since loser chooses the next player AND map, they almost go hand in hand)
As an Aussie, I'd like to hear how moonglade is going, previous posts by Boss alluded to him having non-sc2 issues popping up so if he would like to keep things personal I'm sure I and the community will understand however.
Also interested in possible additions to the roster for GSTL with a couple of notable players recently back on the market.
How long do you plan on staying in Korea? let's say these two extreme (and hypothetical) scenarios: 1) you get all-kill roflstomped in every single match 2) you win the GSTL
Also: do your players plan on participating in Code A?
It's too bad Moonglade won't be going for the GSTL, but oh well
Question for Moonan, do you still have a physical progamer license or some documentation of it? Because I think that its freaking AWESOME that you're one of the only people, if not the only person ever outside of Korea to win a Courage tournament
Will all (obviously not wolf since he is caster, unless im mistaken) players attending actually compete? or will some be there only for support/practice/publicity only?
How much are you all going to practise per day? Will you stream the Code A qualifiers for us? Will you ever speak to glade not going? Who are you practising with? What teams do you expect to beat if any? What is unstable's role while you guys are there? Are you (boss) staying there the whole trip?
What kind of training avenues are you going to explore while in Korea? Is the team just going to be ladder heroes or mass custom games in house? Or will you try and branch out to other Korean teams/individual players and set up some cross team training.

Wow moonan won a courage before? That's awesome how come I never knew that.
Are all of the teammates practicing extra hard to prove themselves as a competent team in the GSTL? What will happen if you guys do not meet your expectations?

in the liquidpedia, it says he was a semi-pro in BW, but no mention of a courage.

He did in fact win courage, under the tag "allaboutyou"
What happened to the FXO pro house you guys were setting up? I searched around the forum to see if I could find the thread but I think maybe you guys gave up and took the thread down? I dunno
Does the general opinion of the community (that you'll do poorly), motivate you or demotivate you?
So, does it upset you that most people aren't giving you much of a chance, or are you just excited for the opportunities to improve, and prove them wrong?

He talks about his BW career and winning Courage in this interview. (Ctrl+F courage).
How long are you guys going to stay out there? Even if you don't do well, is there a possibilty that all or part of the team will remain in Korea to compete in the inidivdual leagues or as mercenaries in team leagues?

Wow, damn. I can't believe I didn't know he won a Courage. Gives me a little more hope for FXO to win a match or two in GSTL.
Where is Wolf from? Why is his country not listed? Is Wolf short for "Wolfgang?"? (his name sounds German). Does that explain his German-sounding accent?

To my understanding, watching Wolf explain it himself during the Solo-casts, Wolf is from the "south" of America. His name is definitely of Germanic origin (with the umlaut :D), but He's a through and through American.

Please do an AMA in reddit starcraft community. Also I have a question: Are there any plans on recruiting Korean players or it will strictly be "foreign" players only?
How will you deal with the language barrier between the team and it's new addition?
Why is FXO going to Korea when Korea is becoming more and more irrelevant in perspective to the burgeoning SC2 Professional Market that's growing everywhere else BESIDES Korea?
How do you feel about your chances in the GSTL? I see players like tgun simply losing to high diamond and mid master players in both macro games and all-in builds vs him. I feel these opponents aren't even worthy of facing an IMMVP, NesTea, Alicia, MC, etc, yet your players are losing quite convincingly.
I know ladders are locked in Korea, and I know the Korean ladder is "harder than NA".. but I don't think those are valid excuses coming from players that are supposed to face the most practiced players in this game shortly.
Since FXOBoss is obviously balling, do you think we could ever see him endorce some into Broodwar tournaments and into the BroodWar community? you now if FXO endorced into the BW community it could alone save foreign pro gaming scene in Broodwar too
EDIT : in all seriousness, are you guys undergoing completely new training regiments? more korean style training? ^^
From your streams, it seems from a viewer's perspective that you guys are taking training a bit lightly compared to what we'd expect from a Korean pro team. Clearly a lot of effort has been going into the stream, and while I as a viewer enjoy watching lightheartedness and joking around, I'm a bit concerned about the GSTL. Especially as there is the notion of you guys needing to play catchup to reach the skill levels of some of those teams.
Now of course I have no experience with pro gaming, so if it's a bad question please forgive me. But given that you guys are shortly going to be competing against Korean teams, will you be training in a more regimented fashion once more of the roster makes it over there?

The streaming pc (rest time for any players on it) ... What you don't see is the practice. And thats because we are hiding it from people. Each player is playing at least 70 ladder games a day. The stream is less serious, to release the tension.

Ah, thanks for the answer! =) Have the players felt that they have been increasing in skill since playing in Korea? I know it's only been a short while but it would be interesting to know.

Korea is THE place to be those players will improve so much by playing against the best be it on ladder in custom games or in the tournaments.
What is your favorite event in an SC2 game? For example, I love fungle growthing High templar. Like, what makes you smile when something happens in a game.

Of which there have been 3 invitationals held to date, with a 4th coming soon. The 4th has regional invite qualifiers to a bigger prize pool main event.

(if you meant the one weekend format I believe they changed that because they need to accomodate players from all over the world and a really long couple of days play can be nightmarish when some players are having to play through the night and finishing up with bo5's at 6 in the morning (poor strelok))
I'm interested in knowing what is your relation with Carn that lives in the GSL house! He's in the stream right now, do you think he his skilled enought to be in FXO and will he be in FXO ?

Hi, I'm a bit surprised there is no FXO team dedicated webpage, or at least you usually link the FXOpen page where I don't really see an e-sports section. Anything like that in works? It could draw more people to your page.
