![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/ESTua.jpg) There is a thread about this show already but I noticed that my translated episodes disappeared in the stream of other posts so I decided that maybe it would be a good idea to create a thread focused on subtitled releases.
Show information Rematch is a E-Sports show which is currently airing on SVT (the Swedish equivalent of the BBC). The show airs every friday and will consist of eight episodes in total. I would encourage my fellow TL members from Sweden to get on the Rematch Facebook page to give them some feedback (they do seem to take that feedback to heart). If we're lucky we could probably get them to make more episodes. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rematch/218447964847614?sk=wall
While the show is not set out to focus on SC2 specifically, its the biggest thing in swedish e-sports today so there seems to be plenty of comparisons and talks about SC2 even when the topic of the episode is some other game.
Also, just to clear any confusion up before it arises: This show does not actually air on TV. The show airs on SVTs website every Friday at 15:00 and is then archived along with every other "normal" TV-show that SVT airs on their web-tv site SVTPlay
I love them for putting it in the Sport category rather than Entertainment <3
Disclaimer This is something I do for fun. These episodes are the first ones I have ever done timing or subs for, I had to learn the program from scratch just to get this out there. My english isn't perfect, I may have misheard a word here or there, some sentence structures might be off. So no, its not perfect. Man up and deal with it. I do all the timing/translation on my own in about 3 hours per episode so there are bound to be quality control issues. This is just my way of giving something back to the community, if it isn't good enough for you then I suggest that you simply refrain from download any more episodes. Episode information & Download You do not need to get all the files from the download links listed. It is the exact same file at each location but since some people have issues with certain sites I decided to upload to a few different ones. Just pick the one you find the most reliable.
Us proud vikings can watch the program on SVT Play (without subtitles ofc): http://svtplay.se/t/146533/e-sport
While the subs are turned on by default they can be turned off.
If you have issues playing these files I suggest downloading CCCP ( http://www.cccp-project.net/ ) and using the included MPC-HC player to run the files.
Since there are so many links I wont be able to check them all to see if they work all the time.. poke me if any episode disappears completely. Episode 3 is 720p, I'll try and get Episode 1 and 2 up in 720p as well tomorrow.
Episode 1 The first episode deals mainly with the history of E-Sports from arcades to the games of today. They also met up with Jinro and talk about Korea as a E-Sport nation. + Show Spoiler +

Episode 3 Finally we get back to good old Starcraft! This episode contains a bunch of interviews with Huk, IdrA, TLO, Morrow and Jinro but above all we get a good long interview with White-Ra himself. In the studio is dignitas manager NewmaN and greykarn from Rakaka (a swedish news site dedicated to e-sports, also the ones behind the Road to Korea tournament). + Show Spoiler +
Episode 4 -NOT SUBBED- May 20 In the fourth episode Rematch takes a closer look at Super Street Fighter 4 and send their test pilot Josef Fares to a training camp with one of the best swedish players out there, Leo 'Yagami' Sundholm. Interviews are done with TLO, Morrow, Bischu and Sjow and we get a closer look at what drives them and how things work around the house. The second part of this episode focuses on Counter-Strike scene and the Swedish player 'threat'. + Show Spoiler +
Episode 6 -NOT YET AIRED- June 3 + Show Spoiler +
Episode 7 -NOT YET AIRED- June 10 + Show Spoiler +
Episode 8 -NOT YET AIRED- June 17 + Show Spoiler +

Awesome work! Love to see "real media" supporting eSports, now non-swedes can enjoy it aswell!
|
Yeah its great to see. SVT has been doing broadcasts from Dreamhack events for a while now but I've always felt like the quality/budget has been questionable. This series is really nice though. I like that they seem to have producers with a lot of insight into the scene and guests that know their stuff.

Shame that the deal that made them get these were based on backstabbing and dirty doings, the main project leader is getting sued and got fired.
Sad to see that even thought esports isn't even established enough to warrent rivalry there are still sneaky assholes who are trying to make money on it...
Do always enjoy the further progress of Esports though.

Cool I haven't seen ep 3 yet.

oh this is awesome, thx man <3

i just saw episode three and it was very interesting. I think it is important that a site like teamliquid that is basically THE go-to site for sc2 try to push for some sort of player driven umbrella organization in order for sc2 to be able to go more mainstream. we'll see what the future holds

Actually SC2 just took a major step in that direction with the MLG and GSL joining togheter to have a exchange program to ensure the top players getting to go to each tournament. That is a big step in just that direction and it is a great move by them as they are the two biggest organisations.

Be more specific, "the deal that made them get these"?
What dirty doings?
What Project leader, one at SVT or the production company?
As a viewer I'm just happy that we will get a new production for SVTs broadcast from deamhack, the old one lacked in the sc2 casting. Something i guess is covered in "the deal".

Had totally missed this program. The setup of the program is really professional to me and it doesn't feel like they're talking out of their asses. Really interesting.
Good stuff.

I feel like this is far superior to the past coverage of Dreamhack so on a personal level I'm not too bothered. I just hope it turns out ok for us viewers in the end.

It seems like most foreigners don't really care much about this show so I'm not really sure if I should bother translating the rest of the episodes.. Are any of you actually watching this stuff? Might translate the rest just for fun but if noone is watching the anyway I'm not sure if it even makes sense to continue or not.
This weeks episode is apparently delayed a bit due to some technical difficulties but should be up later tonight which means that I probably wont be able to do a "0 day" translation like I've done previously (show airs at 15:00, subs/encoding completed within 6 hours). They also premiered some new gaming show called Gameplay (same presenter/production) that seems to be focused on games in general. Today they talked about the new mortal kombat, portal 2 and some other stuff but honestly there wasn't really any new info in that show, more or less just reviews of different games and discussions about them so unless someone is interested in that show I wont bother with episode 1 atleast.

Dane here. Really enjoying, so please dont stop "subbing and upping" - sorry, couldnt help myself.
Very good program. Still a little bit general in its tone, but not nearly as much as U feared. Good question about a unified sc2 ranking system
P.S. No I cant understand swedish.

Alright! I wasn't sure if more than 2-3 people had even looked at an episode considering the lack of replies (1500 views, 15 replies). The episode that came out yesterday focuses mainly on street fighter and quake live but next episode looks like it could be really interesting, looks like they've gone and visited the pro gamer house where sjow, tlo and the others are staying. Also contains a bunch of interviews with the people living there.
I'll sub this weeks episode anyway, maybe someone likes the series as a whole.
|
Episode 5 was first half preatty much dedicated to TLO & Co and how it is living in a gaming house together. Then they interviewed David Gustavson (Chairman of Sverok, "Swedens role- and conflictassociation") about how they help smaller groups create societys and redistribute government fundings (about 8-9 million sek per year) to smaller gaming societys.
And a interview with the CS player "Threat" (who was a bit concerned about SC2s popularity stealing audience from other games).
Preview for ep 6 was SC2, TLO, SJOW, and more SC2.

Idk if it's possible but I'd LOVE if someone could upload the sub'd versions to youtube or another form of streaming, downlmoading isn't pratical at all for me :/
|
Great program. I love how you can see the swedish culture when it comes to talk about money in episode 3 when morrow is asked aboout his salary and he's like "Huh, I beg you pardon!?",
Geat to see someone subing this for the rest of the community. Thank you.
|
Thank you so much for releasing this episodes with subtitles. I can only speak for myself but im sure theres more eager to watch them and having no other way of reaching the content besides whats available through your effort.
Once again, thank you and im loving the "Rematch"
|
Thanks alot for the translations! Really nice

Wow, todays episode was the best by far :D loved the TLO fight and Morrows interview!!!
|
Okay, THATs why the Swedish players are so good and there are so many of them. This has been one of the most asked question in the last weeks. Now we know it: Because E-sports is BIG in Sweden

Sweden truly is becoming the mecca of "foreigner" esports.
Soon it will be Sweden vs Korea vs The World!!!
Of course Canada and the US are always on the same team

omg, just found out about this! eSports coverage on svt? Who knew O_o

New episode up:
Rematch season 2 episode 2
First 6 minutes got an interview with July. Amongst other things he reveals his favourite ice cream: a mix of vanilla and chocolate.
If people want to I could translate the whole interview.

Rematch is back but now on TV 4, I have not watched the earlier episodes so I dont know if it is the same people running it.
But here is a link to the shows main page: Rematch and the first episode: Episode 1

Its a nice initiative, but these programs don't give us anything we cant get better/faster elsewhere unfortunately..
except for the interviews, like the ones with NiP, but other than that old news and bad articles, like the SC2 'in-depth strategy' is a complete joke
|
Yea it was not a very interesting first episode, can only hope it gets better later.
