Lets say top #4 placement last GSL gets an invite to MLG However this is fucking awesome and im sooooooo looking forward to MLG cbus Please read the MLG format changes.

As a Korean player, to even get into Code A, you have to go through a series of grueling Code B qualifiers, which will offer a lot more competition than any MLG. However, any foreigner that places top THREE in a circuit tournament is fast-tracked into Code A? Foreigner privilege, I guess. I'm not at all saying that I'm opposed to this collaboration. In fact, I think this is a great opportunity to encourage home-grown talent in the US since winning a local tournament might mean you have a shot at the GSL. It is just a little unfair to Koreans. As opposed to the previous four Code A invites that were given to foreigners for absolutely no other reason other than being "not Korean and available to participate"?

Plus all the other online tournaments and team leagues and I really think people are going to be dissapointed when almost all the top players decline the invite. naniwa would accept and he is the best foreigner .

I did My point is that the koreans that gets invited to MLG should be the top #4 placment in Code S. Giving koreans even more ambition to reach a top 4 spot. I know that the distribution to which koreans get into which pool is based on points, i just think the invites should be the same Like MMA and Moon is both in Code A atm

There could be tons of reasons why it didn't work out for one or the other player this time. Seeing this is one-time only before the new system kicks in, I don't consider this much of an issue.

Where is the new system based on invites? Also GSL fixed the scheduling error making the "super tournament" take a break while MLG is on, giving every korean the ability to attend MLG if they so desired. So in simple words: They can invite whatever player they so desire to, i just think those invites should be based upon placement in GSL's and not fame.

Do also note the koreans don't have too go through the open bracket. They get straight into the championship bracket. So in reality its all fair. 3 Foreigners get too be in code A without going through qualifier, 4 koreans get too not go through the 256 bracket and straight into group play.

A partnerships a partnership. Koreans want to see foreigners and the MLG wants foreigners to be available for their events. It's a fair trade even despite somewhat unfair changes to native Koreans. I would say MLG is almost the same as Code B, if not a bit harder. There are 256 players I believe in live events, not to mention there are championship pools. Naniwa proved that he himself was able to make it through. Other than that, it's a good deal, and many aspiring foreigners would love to take in on this opportunity. I hope KiWiKaKi is sent to Korea, he can really show them some stuff!

I know that the distribution to which koreans get into which pool is based on points, i just think the invites should be the same Like MMA and Moon is both in Code A atm First of all, part of the reason for this exchange program is to allow for foreigners to be placed in the GSL. The top fnishers in MLG get an opportunity to play in GSL: one in Code S and three in Code A. Why would the top four Code S players want to come to MLG to win a spot in Code A? The reason Koreans will most likely want to participate in MLG at this point is that they are given the chance to win $5000 in MLG over one weekend and they do not have to pay for transportation or lodging due to being invited. Some may want to come just for the experience in playing a North American LAN, but at this point MLG's prize pool is not high enough for the top GSL players to really want to come. As was said, some top Koreans already declined their invites. If the prize pool was as high as the MLG national championship, it would be much more likely that the top Code S Koreans would play at MLG, however, it still wouldn't make sense from an exchange program perspective.
