1. Sweden
- Morrow, Jinro, Thorzain, Naniwa, Sjow

2. Ukraine
- Dimaga, WhiteRa, Kas, Strelok, (couple of others)

3. Germany
- Socke, HasuObs, TLO, Goody, Darkforce

Well that would be my top 3, followed by Canada and USA...

A tourney is needed.

Something like the Clanbase nations cup back in 2004:

http://clanbase.ggl.com/news_league.php?&lid=1431

The best german brood war team ever won the cup:
Mondragon, Fisheye, Breakdown, Socke, OgerDaniel, Infinity, Cope etc.

Nobody thinks France is quite up there ?

Adelscott, Stephano, Moman, Song, Sarens would make quite an ace team...

Carn too right? But i dont think those are as good as a lot of other countries

I restricted myself to French players playing in Europe, but yes, if you count Fr in Korea, Karn and maybe Soju could also be strong assets to a team. Aures could be considered as well if making an «Fr team».

France is to underrated in the international scene... Hasu, Tarson, and Strelok came to the Gamers Assembly (biggest French LAN), the finals where Adel VS Aures.

By no mean I'm trying to say «France is the best European country in SC2», but it sure is completly underrated. I myself have discovered the French scene only recently and the least I can say is that I've been quite impressed.

First time ever I think the US is being considered underrated.

Idra, InControl, PainUser, Liquid Tyler, QXC ... these are good players. Is Sheth American?

incontrol, painuser, qxc and tyler arent rly the biggest names compared to swedens (Sjow, Morrow, Naniwa, Thorzain, Jinro) or ukraines (strelok, Kas, Whitera, Dimaga) top 5.
If you compare them to germany(Socke, Hasu, Darkforce, TLO, Goody, Mondragon) or canada (Kiwikaki, Huk, Drewbie, Slush, TT1) they are much more closer though yet I (and obviously many other ppl as well) would rate them slightly below those 2 countries.

All in all the US has a lot of decent players, but only few top players, which is why many ppl would expect them to lose in a tournemant against the other big nations since only the top 5 or so players get to play.

Also there should be an ENC this summer, so there will at least be a tourney for the european nations.

What the hell? Dimaga has beaten Nestea in zvz, Kas is showing consistent results, and Strelok must not be forgotten!

Poland gonna be/is pretty scary I reckon.

Sweden already pretty scary.

Ukraine scary as well.

USA has some great players, should do way better though imo.

Canada looking solid, always up there at MLG at least.

Germany solid as always.

France getting there.

Russia not enough info BRAT_OK scary though.

China potential powerhouse.

If going for top end talent over depth it would have to be Ukraine then Sweden, but if depth over top end talent then just switch the two... either way those two are definitely tops outside of Korea!

E-Sports is also huge in Sweden, much more popular than it is in US. Sweden always does well in E-sports because you can be a pro-gamer and have a nice living.

Anyone else consider HuK American? Didn't he move to Canada like a couple years ago? I wouldn't really consider Idra to be Korean if he lived there for a few years. Just like a lot of people here don't consider Select to be American. HuK hasn't been as great as of late though imo :/

one win against one player doesnt mean you are suddenly a top-tier player, even if its against Nestea ZvZ. Kas and strelok are good but not on the same level as naniwa/thorzain/whitera etc

They surprised me as well in the starswar, but i don't really know where to put them. I agree that it will need some time to really rate the chinese players. But i think they have great potential especially for the fact that eSports in China is getting pretty big as far as i've heard...

I don't like this country vs country business
Players from all countries can beat eachother on any given day

I love the country vs country discussions! If we want e-sport to become as big as possible we need as much rivalry and competition as possible. The flag in front of each player brings a lot of feelings into the game.

Korea vs Foreigner
East vs West
Europe vs America
USA vs Canada
My country vs Another country

There are a lot of sports I never watch and don't really care about unless Sweden plays because it automaticly gives me a team to root for.

Btw, my top list of non korean countries:
1) Sweden (yes, I am probably biased ^_^)
2) Ukraine
3) Germany
4) USA
5) Canada
