USA has only 3-4 top players. IdrA, HuK (Also Canadian), Sheth and Gatored ( I think if this guy was picked up by a big team, he would shine; I love you gatored). Sweden also has a very strong lineup with Nani, Sase, Thorzain and Morrow.

Can you really say USA behind France??? Idea, sheth, qxc, gatored vs Stephanie and them a. Bunch of people I never heard of...

Plus players like spanishiwa and destiny, who revolutionize the game.

Well, destiny and spanishiwa wouldn't stand a chance agaisnt players such as Adel, who beat IMMvp or SarenS who beat Sen in one of the most macro and multitask oriented bo3 ive seen and also faced IdrA in the finals of one the first IEM. I mean, their creativity is very entertaining but in the end their level isn't just high enough.

No need to mention Stephano, whos just the best foreign zerg imo. So yeah, even though Idra, sheth, qxc are top foreign players I don't think they that the overall level reaches the french top 5.

And yes my opinion is biased cause im french :}

You're really citing Adelscott vs IMMvp as a piece of evidence? Those games, like most of TSL3, were played with horrendous lag. Don't you remember the Genius lagfields? Or Mvp, arguably the best Korean terran, losing a reaper to a probe surround? Or him missing entire cycles when hes kiting his bio army?

If Adelscott played Mvp right now, he wouldn't win a single game out of ten.

USA so overhyped!
For me :
-Sweden(Naniwa, Thorzain , Morrow, Sase, Bischu)
-Ukraine ( Kas,DIMAGA, White-Ra, Strelok, Bly)
-Poland ( Nerchio, Mana,Tarson, Diestar, Tefel or Paranoid)
-France(Stephano, ToD, SarenS, Adelscott, Kenzy)
-Germany(Socke, Goody, Hasuobs, Darkforce,Xlord)
-US(Idra,Sheth, qxc, Gatored and a last one)

Korea's >decade of professional BW competition is probably the biggest factor. Barely any foreigners could afford to even get to Korea before the exchange program. Looking at how insanely huge the foreign community has grown since the release of Starcraft 2 I'd say It's only a matter of time before we see a non-K GSL champion, the 2012 prophecy comes to mind :D

add Huk to the USA

I don't know what is so hard to understand.
Huk claims that he is canadian first even if he is American too so we can't count him in the US team.
You know, Zidane is also algerian, but he was competing for France and Algerians didn't say that he could play for their team.

I think what USA has going for it is tons of random B-rank pros. As in S-rank is HuK, Naniwa, Idra, Stephano etc, A-Rank is like Sheth, Demuslim, etc. I mean we have:

QXC
Tyler
Gatored
Kawiirice
Axslav
All of team Vile, It's Gosu, most of EG

etc etc. I don't think any other country has a roster quite as deep as ours. So we'd lose Winners League to Canada, Sweden or France, but we'd beat France in proleague bo5, beat Canada bo7 and beat Sweden bo11 or so.

Anyway, it's really hard to measure.

I think the most proper way to assess country dominance would be

"If all countries got to send a 5 man team to the GTSL, which team would win?", since GTSL and IPL team arena are both 5 man, right? So we should be thinking of this in terms of who has the 5 best players.

In such a case, I think Sweden wins. naniwa, Thorzain, Sase, Morrow, Jinro

I feel like there is another Swedish heavy hitter I am missing, but I do think that Sweden has the strongest 5 man team. Ukraine and Germany are of course also really strong countries, but they don't have as strong of a 5 man team.

GSTL is winners league, so the teams with the best aces would win - the bo's I was referring to were proleague style.

i'm surprised he considers himself canadian.

if i was born and raised in USA and then moved to france when i was 16 (22 now), i would definitely call myself an american.

Where did Huk say he was Canadian first? AFAIK everytime he's asked he considers himself half and half.

No where. There is just a lot of US hate from many TL members and you just have to roll with it.

Sweden, China. Sweden in terms of notoriety, but honestly, there are some serious monsters lurking in the Chinese scene. That Zerg who played MVP in the finals of WCG was far more terrifying than any foreigner I've ever seen competing in Korea thus far. I'm only sorry I forgot his name before starting this, and even more sorry that I'm in a hurry to burn one and don't care to check.

2)USA: IdrA(pronounced ih-dra, kinda like idiot), Sheth
3) Canada: HuK, combatex, HairZerg(firezerg)
something high)France: definitely not. You have stephano kbye

Canada I think has the best individual player with HuK, with a Strong Follow-up in Kiwikaki.

Sweden has a strongest Top 5 in total...

So I think comes down to what the match was. Pokemon style, I'd take Canada. If it was set matchups, Sweden.
