That's a huge site, that reaches a huge number of people, and has showed little interest in esports in the past. Just how happy are Gamespot with the page views Slasher's articles are getting? Pretty happy I would expect. Encouraging mainstream gaming sites like Gamespot to get further involved in esports can only be a good thing. Keeping it all limited to reddit and TL is just preaching to the choir. You aren't reaching new eyeballs there. Not to mention that Slasher has his own career to look out for. How many people can make a successful career out of esports journalism? That being possible is an important step forward too. Listening to Alex right now, he is basically saying "if it's not good for us then it's not good for esports". Sour grapes. Journalists pissing people off by leaking information is nothing new. It's an arms race and if teams are losing then that's their problem and it's not Slasher's responsibility to back off for him. Don't expect the fans who just want to get the news to side against Slasher either. The problem is that ESPORTS isn't yet in a position where it can really afford to have information leaked like this as consistently as it is. If companies (teams etc.) can't get traffic to their site with news because someone else beats them to publishing THEIR OWN news, then why should they bother?

It's not endangering any human beeing so its legit... He is being a complete hypocrite by calling Slasher selfish. Alex is also only thinking of his own interests here. Does anyone think for a second that he would be getting this worked up about it if it weren't HIS information being leaked? And justifying it by resorting to the old "killing esports" as if that and his own interests are one and the same.

Breaking the news first is a huge deal. He can write his article after and get a fraction of the views. And that's the basis for Alex's annoyance, that he isn't getting the biggest slice of the pie.

At this point no one is listening to each other, they are only shouting "YOU ARE WRONG" at each other. The discussion is really boring now.
