This.
Well. At least Destiny apologized. Incontrol on the other hand...

Destiny is correct, to a point. The onus is in fact on Blizzard to improve their game. Chat channels, a better way for UMS maps to be played by casuals, unranked 1v1, whatever. The problem is that Blizzard not only knows that they need to fix all those things, they know that we know that they know they need to fix all those things. And they still don't do it. No amount of #saveHotS twitter bombs or whiny reddit threads are going to make blizzard do anything.
This is where iNcontoL, IdrA, and DJWheat come in. They know that this is the case. They also know that there are things they can do that have the potential to increase or at least hold steady the amount of people participating in SC2 as an eSport. So they do them. They aren't worried about what Blizzard is or is not doing. They know that it's pathetic for there to be "lag screens at Blizzcon", but they can't make those lag screens not happen. So they focus on other things, things that they can improve and change.
And that is the real difference between what Destiny was saying and what ITG was saying.
On another note, I think DJWheat's "explosion" after Destiny hung up was not only warranted, but completely the response I was expecting from him. Because let's be honest, it was a "pussy-ass cop-out" on Destiny's part. The entire argument devolved into something that was deliciously devoid of fluff, which is why I watch DJWheat's shows in the first place. Glad someone feels the same way as me about this.
Same here. There is part to of me that Destiny was never on the show. I think other members of the community should be able to respond his approach as they see fit. If people think it is stupid, dumb or great, they should be able to do so and Destiny should be able to live with that.
Also, people should take a lot of the “disgusted with Wheat/incontrol/Idra” comments with a grain of salt. EG, Wheat, Incontrol and Idra all have a legion of trolls and haters who are just waiting for stuff like this to tear them down. They would be “disgusted” if any of the hosts raised their voices at someone, no matter how valid reason. It is the same idea as when some people emails sponsors, not because they love the game, but because enjoy trolling and feeling like they have some sort of power.

ALSO what the FUCK. ONLY on the internet would a fucking high five be anything other than a stupid fucking joke. I DON'T ACTUALLY HIGH FIVE GUYS. I Haven't since highschool when I played football. STOP BEING SO NECK BEARDY I hope you realise you are a neck beard oO cant believe people hate on idra and incontrol after the show. they were clearly the ones with the better arguments and tried to dicuss the topic. destiny just shouted his opinion over and over again and didnt even try to start a real conversation. for gods sake, pls watch the show and dont post such dumb lies over and over again, its really annoying
People hate them because of how they acted because basically they do agree with Destiny, just that they don't get hang on it so much. They prefer to do what they can to make the scene better with what they have while Destiny just claims that Blizzard made a weak foundation for this game to work on.

I think people just get a hard on getting upset at incontrol and people he is associated with..
Incontrol presented an argument counter to what destiny was saying, yes he said some jokes and poked fun but so did destiny.
You guys lost respect because djwheat was passionate? and everyone who is "upset" are completely ignoring Destiny who is as guilty as any one else in the show.
They had an argument and people raised their voices... big fucking deal, get over it. How do you guys exist in the real world?

It is sad that Inc still does not realize that casuals are also HIS base. Nobody pays him for playing the game. He is getting paid to cater to casuals.
He should be more concerned with the decline of casual players than anyone else on the show.
But then he argues that the game doesn't need casuals, which is the most stupid thing that has been said during the whole show. Yes, more stupid than anything Destiny said.

AND SELECT SWITCHES TO DOTA !!!! Anyone else wanna say sc2 isnt dying ? could not have come at a better time.

How far in is the shouting? Want to listen to it myself rather than read opinions whilst being uninformed...

Incontlol is in Hulk mode on the interwebs. I think the EG pr team is in vacation or smth
Destiny didn't expect the remark from idra. He thought they were just debating, so I understand his rage quit.

IMO, The last week or so has proved IdrA and Geoff's point that there is more we can do as a community without the aid of Blizzard. The community response to Destiny's bullshit has been utterly disappointing and it's caused a gaping wound in SC2. I understand he cares about SC2 but what he's done is hurt SC2 far more than he's helped it. Starting an open discussion about improving a scene is one thing, inciting panic and negativity is another.
I love SC2 but more and more it's the community that's pushing me away from it moreso than the game or Blizzard. Some downright ignorant, immature and pessimistic people.

What time in the VOD does this drama start? I can't seem to find it.

Yeah, Destiny is guilty, he admits it... And he apologized... What's your fucking point mate?
The host isn't supposed to be 'passionate' if that's even an excuse. If Obama vs Romney had a 'passionate' Romney supporter, then wtf? Are you even switched on?
And being passionate is an excuse for what djWHEAT did? Then you can excuse nearly everything Destiny has fucked up on as being passionate.

Wow man, you are really pushing this hard.
First off, when has Select mattered in the last year? When has he ever made a top 10 of anything in any league. I can’t remember the last time I saw him play anyone who mattered.
Second of all, who cares. Half of the Dota 2 teams lost a ton of members after the international. LoL teams are losing members and switch rosters after the finals. People switch teams. Jinro no longer play SC2 either.
People will leave games for new ones. They will come back too. This has all happened before and it will all happen again.

From what I get from this stupid argument is that there are two sides.
Side A (Destiny among many, many others) thinks Starcraft2 cannot be fixed by anyone but the Blizzard development team. There are some things that might help slow the death, but ultimately it falls onto Blizzard to change the game.
Side B (Incontrol, djWheat, and Idra) thinks that Blizzard cannot, or will not, change the game, and that it's the communities responsibility to reinvigorate Starcraft2's e-sports scene.
What I don't understand is how Side B plans on doing this... There has been ZERO suggestions. Do they even know that there is a problem? Are they going to stick their heads in the sand and hope it gets better?

Well he's not he was dodgy and acting immature during the call. The only problem i see is Wheat as a host should have been the bigger man call him names sure why not but don't go all mental. It's Destiny ffs not some one that actualy really knows what he's talking about.
I'll be watching next show again Wheat is an great guy, he just should have been the bigger man i hope he will be in the future.

What did djWHEAT do? Get pissed off cause he brought a guy on HIS show, supported by sponsors, and said guy acts like a child and then gives up completely by insulting 2 of the hosts and hanging up? That was utterly disrespectful to one of the most tenured, respected and knowledgeable names in eSports. Who is Destiny compared to djWHEAT?? Absolutely nothing. djWHEAT's reaction was completely justified given the circumstances.

Select said he's switching to Dota because he feels he's getting older and his hand speed isn't up to what's required for an RTS. What exactly does that have to do with however many people are watching SC2?

very well put! i hope they try to do it again, with the same lineup, the same level of passion, but less shouting and more good discussion. if destiny gave half of his energy to painuser i think it would be perfect.
