It's just really embarrassing.
I like NASL very much, the games have been fantastic. Having IdrA guestcast just reminded me how great it would be if they restructured their current booth with new/fresh/articulate casters. I completely agree. The girth of the issue is quite apparent, in relativity. lol, you hit the nail on the head It's the one thing I want them to improve over everything else.
+ Show Spoiler +"all the roach count gets diminished" "finally the roaches can start their work onto this army composition" "more hydras are trying to be made on the way" Drives me craaaaaazy

i love the timer on the 'breaktime'.
i love the post match player interview.
i love the guest casters... idra is doing a fantastic job imo - and it's nice to see him doing something other than raging.
i love incontrol and gretorp's chemistry, and incontrol is a real life evil genius.
the tournament has the best range of pro gamers in the world - true world-wide event.
loving NASL.
my suggestion: don't fall into the boring generic mould that most other casters fall into... banter and random comments are fun, and the insight is also great. the mainstream casters suck, please don't follow suit.

I agree 1000% I enjoy their casting a lot.

Before I post I need to appologise for not having read the previous pages as I usually would before posting, I'm on day 1 of week 5 at the moment and I'm trying to avoid spoilers, so if this issue has already been thoroughly covered (I'm sure it would have been mentioned) or even already fixed sorry for the wasted post.
I love NASL and will almost certainly subscirbe in the future but I also enjoy watching the pre show but that has recently been worse with the addition of the NASL 'classic' (half an hour of filler showing games already shown). Was there really anyone asking for a complete replay from the week before with nothing new?
It's so awful, and I can't think of an actual purpose to it. It's a complete waste of time and I really hope old games aren't shown again for no reason during the pre show in the future. I'm hoping it's already been fixed and I'm just behind (if so, awesome!).
Surely if anyone desperately wants to watch a game they've already seen or somehow missed and managed to make it a week without being spoiled and want to watch an NASL day with the player playing and hoping to not be spoiled (???), they could just go and watch the VoDs?

This one has really been bugging me:
Tell us who the hell is sponsoring you!
My theory is that it's .EG , just because iNc, and then Idra gets dragged in oh so easy, and they wouldn't really want it to be THEIR tournament because then people would suspect the participating .EG players. But how they get the money?? Scilicon valley man, scillicon valley. Right near West LA too ^^ (compared to e.g. Switzerland).

Show standings and brackets in between games when there is nothing else showing except a timer anyway. love the tournament but I would like to know what is going on without having to go to the website during live shows...
This is pretty much the only complaint I got... really good league. Gretorp has improved like crazy, InControl is always awesome and Khaldor fits in really nicely. Keep having guest commentators on, really switches everything up.

I have to say Props to NASL, at first the interviews were pretty unprofessional and kinda hard to listen to. But the interviews with white-ra and strelok in the last few days were both absolutely great. I think Incontrol is a better interviewer than gretorp, but gretorp is getting better and we have all seen his capacity for improvement. But i really am loving the improvements they have made. Casting has gotten good, although not great yet. Guest casters are fun, I like the friendly banter but they still clearly are prioritizing professionalism as well. The countdown until they breaks are over is a great addition. The backgrounds, while I think i would prefer some monitors to the green screen thing, are better and more pleasing to the eye than the grayness that was the first 2 weeks. All i can say is that they improves as much between season 1 and season 2 as they have between the first week and today, then we have alot to look forward to. Some potential improvements that i can see are maybe some pregame intro clips for the players, the interviews are great for getting to know the players and showing their personalities, but I also think some more bio stuff before the match might help us understand their place in the scene and so forth. I thin in general making the players more accessible, highlighting their personalities and the letting the people get to know them a little outside of their gameplay is a good thing for esports. Players in other sports are loved for their personalities and star power, and it brings in fans who arent necessarily that into the game itself to start with. Neway, keep up the good work and lets have more interviews! Please i must hear more white-ra english. I love how he just goes on and on like everyone can understand him. I think he thinks his english is really good, gotta love his confidence, but it is hilarious to listen to. I am ramblin, but keep it up NASL.

We did this because a lot of people said "30 minutes of talking is too boring" , so we switched it up. We're going to be tinkering with the preshow until we get to something that pleases the most people ~~

The only criticism I have so far, is to make the VOD's easier to find games. Basically, the titles maybe should say who plays during with video. Other than that, it is been great so far, good to see you taking the criticism and really working with it.

I think another option to try out with regards to the pre show would be to break it up and have it between every series. Maybe a 5 minute preview before each matchup might be worth testing out instead of having a 30 min chunk beforehand.
It would also be nice if at the end of the night you guys went over the standings for the Division that was cast that day, along with a preview of what match ups will take place the following broadcast.

None of you have tried casting in front of 10's of thousands of people and tried to sound both intelligent and engaging so as to entertain an incredibly fickle and critical audience. The result is nervous ticks like latching on to a word (correct or incorrect). Berrating the people about it doesn't actually help. Just makes you an asshole. Gretorp and I (as well as every other caster) don't do it on purpose. So be constructive and kind. If you can't then be a jerk I guess but just so we are clear, you ARE being a jerk when you call for a caster to get fired for using the word "problematic" too much etc.
I can actually tolerate all your mispronunciations. I can even tolerate the intermittent stream and sound problems.
What I can't tolerate though is your customer service, which is just horrible. I don't even know how the NASL can fail so badly at customer service, but you guys have done it.

How long is it going to take you guys to fix your absurdly loud music volume? So ridiculous...
|
Just a heads up "closeing" is spelled incorrectly.
|
You still havent fixed this, so ill write it again, its so easy to fix.
I am really annoyed by how closeup the camera is in the studio.. I want waaay more air on the sides of the commentators ...its way to much zoomed in .... it will look so much more professional and estetically soothing , if u fix that.
Been alot of good improvements though since it started, keep up the good work.
Just zoom out abit! not to much though.

my girlfriend bought me a HD pass and now we've been watching high quality streams every night =) keep up the good work

How about put all the games on a DVD set for sale! i would love to have a DVD of all the games and watch it on a HD TV! :D

Keep doing what you're doing. I love the timers in between games, give me an idea if I have time for a potty break in between matches XD But really though, the first week was rough, but it has been utterly amazing since then. I'm so glad I spent my 20 bucks, every penny was worth it (especially if you guys do like 5 or more seasons lol).
The only thing I wish you guys would do, would be to only have Gretorp, Idra, Cats Pajamas, and iNcontroL cast. Seems to be the people with the best chemistry. I've LOVED the commentary so far, and if this group of casters where the only ones to cast from now on I'd be so happy.
edit: Maybe you should have Anna call in during a cast haha. It's great in SoTG.

stop with the loud booming completely unrelated music that blasts my eardrums right after every GG. I don't need to hear bongos and amateur sounding guitars playing some sort of 50s pop in 1 game then some 70s cheeseball solo in the next.
I understand you want a way to break up the games etc but jesus learn how to manage your audio. Loud ass music out of nowhere is NOT GOOD, especially when 1/2 the time the casters are talking and you can't hear them.
Other than that you're doing great now. I like basically everything else.
|
add subtitles to gretorp during editing, plz
haha sometimes he just constructs the most incoherent sentences. he just said something like "very damaging cloak just went down" and mech armor "adds a lot of relative percentages". keep it simple, mannn
|
I think the issue most people are having with the casters' vocabulary is that it can feel a little bit condescending.
If you guys could speak more naturally like you were just talking to a regular person, I think it would be a lot better. That said, it's definitely not as bad as people are saying. There's just something that feels slightly off about it, and if you guys would speak a bit more casually, I think that would go away.
Sorry if this sounds like a complaint. It's not.
