QXC explains the MLG bracket system from the perspective of a pro-seeded player, talks about his recent move to FXO, and discusses his hopes for this MLG season.
I wonder how qxc feels about the fact that ROOT revealed sponsors shortly after he left. I hope they parted on good terms, it always sucks to have to make decisions based on finances.
Idra! Strangely, his top 8 (ranked 7?) finish at MLG has gotten him more fans than I think even a 1st would have thanks to the epicness of Huk's trolling.
Let us know if you like this "spotlight" player mini-documentary. We are thinking about doing one of these at every major live event. So the spectators really get a sense of how the best players in the world react to intense pressure and the stamina needed to make it through the tournament.
Thank you very much we are definitely putting a lot of thought and time into this as we will be traveling a whole lot more to live events such as MLG. Who knows you may even get some Korea footage down the line =)

Funny how it's the shortest (by height) players who go at it.
In all seriousness though, if we're ever to connect with players more than casters, they do need to show persona and drama is the easiest way of achieving that. Drama and or personality coupled with a stable winrate over a prolonged period of time is the recipe for success in SC2. All we can hope for with this game is a FBH, we'll never see a skill based domination from any Bonjwa, too many balance issues so far.

This. The interviews were great, we got good information and analysis with a little drama mixed in their. I will definitely be keeping up with the CSN (agghhh so many good sites now).
Love the Idra interview. He's always entertaining and says what he thinks.
Also want to say how great Rachel is. It's always awesome to see females getting into e-sports, be it playing, commentating, or just journalism and interviews. She seems to know what she's talking about when it comes to SC2 and she seems interested and excited about the games which rocks.
with the chaos at MLG this past weekend it was definitely a challenge to know what is going on with all the players and teams at any given time. We managed well though, thanks to the help of qxc and other players!
Huk is lying through his teeth in the end of his interview haha. He says in a none joking way that he is 35-5 against idra and that his teammates can vouch for it.
This is after calling out idra as a lier etc, pretty ironic. I dont care about the actuall numbers, but when you say somthing stupid like 35-5 then be ready to back it up. He lost 5 games to idra this tourny, so he is 32-0 or somthing before MLG then? Maby he could do that IF he had top 3 control in the world lol.
Thanks so much to CSN!!! These player interviews are amazing!
On another note, I gotta say, I'm loving this Huk-IdrA thing. This probably isn't the best place to say this, but I feel like I'm for IdrA here. Not that I don't love Huk. He's pretty amazing himself.
On the subject of Rachel: She's attractive enough to keep the viewers attention, but not so attractive as to take away from the interview at hand. Perfect for the job.
As for the interviews themselves, I really enjoy how in-depth you go, keep it up.
I love the fact they're doing something for the community, but what I think disturbed the whole picture a bit was the following:
This rachel girl just isn't much of a good reporter. I only watched HuK&IdrA, but she seems to be a little too shy in front of the camera and in fact was biased. Telling IdrA his memory is acknowledgeable is fine, but really, I as a viewer of those interviews do not care at all what she thinks about certain things. If you want to comment, get some casting going.
Still: I think it's great they covered so many players and such. Keep the work coming, keep improving.

I'd argue that we should have personalized reporters instead of robot-like reporters. I care what the personalities think, but, to each his own and there are going to be people who have differing opinions.
I don't think she was too shy, either. I can see why you'd feel this way, though.
To Rachel: Having your hair the way you do creates the feeling for the viewer that you may not be looking into the camera as much (because it covers half of your face). I'd suggest pulling your hair back, or straightening it and letting it fall flat (the pulled back approach is considered more professional, though)
Edit: Oh yeah, look at the camera more, not the person you're interviewing.

Approaching journalism on different levels is nothing to fight about, I guess - I personally would have liked it more if she just would have kept interviewing IdrA normally and telling him about how she feels about him later. Maybe I am just spoiled, but I just think if you are doing an interview, you shouldn't have people yelling the stuff you wanted to say at you or even express personal feelings. Then again, that is just me - I, for example, also had the feeling the interviews I have seen (HuK&IdrA, can only comment on those) were greatly focussed on the drama between the both of them. I would rather watch SC II interviews like Sport Center instead of some generic sudser. This obviously is a bit exaggerated, but you get the point.
Concerning her being shy: I just rewatched an interview and I figured it had something to do with the way she wears her hair. You pointed that out pretty well.

I can agree with you to a certain extent, and a lot of people are going to feel like you do.

Wow, what a nice alternation of what usually happens when people on the interwebz have different opinions on a certain topic

I appreciate the feedback as I am always looking to improve! Unfortunately for some whose tastes lie more towards completely unbiased reporting, I am still a fan and will have my favorites, but my main goal is to let the players tell their own stories. Please keep watching and letting us know what you would like to see!

Don't do what this person says and look at the camera. EdwardStarcraft does that in some of his interviews and it looks stupid.
lol, "9th place is the maximum I can expect when I play zerg", does it serve him as a consolation that the only higher ranked zerg player was IdrA at 8th?
I like Ret's interview, difficult to say whether he's pissed or just bummed
Incontrol's interview is really good. Rachel is a great interviewer, a nice person to see and hear, making nice comments and asking well-thought questions. Incontrol btw, such a lucky dude. I wish I had a girl who supported AND liked e-sports!!
Thx and congratulations for this content! Keep it coming!
all around great interviews! good personal atmosphere, natural in front of the camera, interesting/insightful questions, smooth transitioning, very refreshing to see
Rachel is in Korea for this season of GSL to bring you guys some quality photos and interviews! You can view our album at the link listed below, but here is some photos from Day 3 of Code S!
Just wanted to say I just saw the justin.tv interview and found it very interesting so I watched lots more of your stuff. Haven't been paying attention close enough I guess because I totally missed that this was out there. Thanks for your hard work!
