Everyone I know mutes code A when they watch it because of her. I'm the only one I know who doesn't, and that's probably dumb of me, because Kelly's pronunciation is maddening. TL mods are beyond belief sometimes. PS: I have no trouble understanding her. She just sounds stupid as fuck when she pronounces "stim" as "steam", and says shit like this: "He forget to siege his tank?" "He need to steam his marine?" I add the question marks because her inflection makes everything sound like a question. Note the lack of pluralization. Because it's a one liner that adds nothing to the discussion. If the community wasn't aware that people were dissatisfied with Kelly's casting at this point, this guy certainly isn't going to break it to them. That said, I didn't really enjoy her casting, but I hope she enjoyed the opportunity and continues to do whatever it is she wants to do. It wasn't unreasonable for people paying for an english stream to want an intelligible english speaking caster who knows a little bit about the game. Good luck to her!

He was probably temp banned because he didn't add anything to the conversation. Ignoring that, it's a bit weird how the guy who called him an asshole didn't get punished in anyway back. Trolling is bad, but so is taking the bait and escalating it.

So much so that I don't think many people even gave her a chance (putting it on mute). She wasn't hard to understand, she just has a thick Singaporean accent. I can understand everything she says, even if she struggles with certain words... I was pretty ashamed when the community lashed out in such a negative way without even giving her a chance. This just further adds to it. Edit: Also my advice for the future. Don't jump on the negative band wagon if you see one. Be the better person and see for yourself. Did you srsly just say that we shouldn't complain because it's mean?

My issue with this community lately is we hated on her way before her first cast. And it seems if anything or anyone new comes in, its instant hate. Remember when tasteless wasn't the observer anymore? remember how much people raged? Now realize no one has cared or noticed the "bad" observer in a looong time. Things like this blow over, and the change gives us things to complain about without us even giving anything a chance. I just feel like no one gives anything a chance, and use any new change to complain and complain until finally they stop caring later on. I wish this wouldn't happen at every turn. Sad to hear she is going back but excited to see who replaces her.

It's sad beacause people will think that western gamers are racist idiots, maybe we should had talked only about her poor knowledge of the game. Anyway, good job gomtv: In the future, you will make any average code A caster look awesome.

It doesn`t matter if she is nice, works really hard, or understandable. People will and should judge based off on her performance. It also does not even matter why people dislike her casting, every single reason is valid because everyone has their own preference. Personally I thought she had her moments and sometimes funny. But overall, she has a terrible casting voice and hard to listen to during the exciting moments or when the battles get hectic or intense. I don`t think her voice is made for casting at all and it is not something you can just fix. Game knowledge and analysis seemed pretty below average as well. Lastly, she had a contract for one season so stop acting like drama queens as to why she won`t be back next season. When GOM does make a choice, it would be what is best for their business.

I also don`t see the same reaction to Doa, unless I missed something.

Come on, the accent issue is the front of the dislike and she gets a lot of unjust flak for it. But there are other glaring contentions as well. She had awkward pauses casting with Tasteless even after a few games, and Artosis can only carry her game knowledge so far... That said, it's amazing how far we came when back in the early days of tasteless casting, the terrible casters never played the game, but now the "bad" caster for this premier event is really a couple steps away from being the person for the job

He's saying he's glad she's gone so he can unmute the stream. How is that NOT adding to the discussion? You could say the OP isn't adding to the discussion because he's just reposting an article from another website. GomTV should get the best, and the best only. If I tuned in watching a well-known but more local tournament and Kelly would be one of the 2 casters I would be pleasantly surprised. But having to listen to her every game at the most prestigious tournament in the world is mind-numbing. I wish you well Kelly but you weren't on par yet. There are over 15 casters I listened to in the past and you are sadly on the last place. I can't speak for others except some friends and they agree with this statement: Kelly is ok, but almost every other caster is more enjoyable to listen to. I am referring to pro casters, casual co-casters and youtube casters. Also, I have to say that the article posted in this thread was very refreshing to read. That a magazine in Singapore dedicated an article on this topic is very cool.

Sad to hear she is going back but excited to see who replaces her. People raged a lot at the beginning because it's not her first cast. She has casted high profile tourneys before as well as a lot of SEA tourneys and events, she's hardly new to this. It's not because it's a change, it's because people really didn't like her before, and seeing a caster you absolutely don't like suddenly cast the biggest tournament in the world causes that sort of reaction. Of course, there's people who just flat out love to hate on things, but the majority of people just legitimately didn't like her casting. It's understandable. Comparing her to the observer isn't very appropriate either, since observing a game is a much easier task to learn than fixing issues with your voice, accent or grasp of another language.
