I am NOT comparing the two because there is no relevant correlation between that statement and the argument so I am not sure why you are bringing it up. Before you confuse yourself even more, I am not saying multiple names will not lead to more trolls, but that is not the focus. In any event, the whole point, which I can't help but repeatedly mention that you missed because it really is quite amazing, is that you can't rule out something because there is a negative aspect to it. Almost everything has pros and cons, but you can't look at everything and say... "there is something negative about it... this conversation is clearly over! There is no way it should be included!" For example, many medicines have a slight risk of harming a user, but the benefits far outweigh the risks in most cases so it is considered a good thing. Not only did you not try to weigh the pros with the cons, but you immediately decided this wasn't even a discussion worthy topic after you completely ignored benefits. Do you now understand why your argument was so bad? | ||

What I mean by this is, lets say blizzard unleashes a new PTR that has some different changes, things that they're just doing some pubilc testing with, and aren't sure if they'll put it in the normal ladder. So maybe they want to let people go onto their 'unofficial' account (that will reset with every ptr), so that they don't ruin their main ladder stats in the event that some of the PTR changes are totally unbalanced. Ya know? I've heard that blizzard is going to implement a "$5 per name change" option in the future, so I doubt they'll allow users unlimited accounts. | ||

If anything this could be possible implementation of account merging so that you can have 2 paid accounts under 1 b.net id, but jesus christ people... come on, theyre not going to give out free accounts. Now as to why this is actrually there, blizzard has stated that this is for the ptr. if you used the ptr the first time around, and then used it again at a later version of it then yes.. you have 2 ptr accounts. Blizzard stated that this is a bug, and should not be visible in the live version of the game. But i cannot stress this enough, and although its my own opinion/common sense, people are getting awfully hopeful that theyre getting a free account. lol. | ||

In my mind, it will still be the same account, just more so another character to mess around on/do different things with. ie; WoW... You have an account, where you may have 3 different characters. On the one WoW account you may have a lvl 80 Priest, a level 76 Hunter, and a level 50.. Druid.. You can't log into two of the characters at once, as they are on the same account. Would like to see Blizz do something similar, simply so I can tell 'OK, I'm diamond with Zerg.... But I'd love to know where my protoss is at/advance at toss without sinking my rating..." Playing custom games is too far different from the ladder. Not only is it hard to get map variation, but you rarely find someone who is a fair fight. All for it. | ||
