Just because you're in Masters doesn't mean you'll be taken seriously though. To gain a reputation, you need to be placing highly in tournaments and stuff like that. Your league alone doesn't really matter at all.

I don't think that this question deserves a whole thread so I just post it in here:

I was really looking forward some change the hotkeys with the new patch. But what I now realised that the main changes I'd like to make aren't available.

what I mean are units with 2 "modes" eg. tanks (sieged, unsieged), vikings (ground, air). I find it quite inconvenient to not have eg. siege and unsiege on the same key. (2 shortcuts instead of 1; I've lost a few battles because I pressed the wrong key)

Does anyone know why you can't put them on the same key? The only reason which came into my mind is that maybe if you have 3 landed and 4 flying vikings you'd like to eg land all your viking with one key or let them fly with the other key.

Anyone else bothering with this or is it just me?

There's an option to ignore hotkey conflicts which, if ticked, will allow you to set two things to the same key.

I wanna talk about the fact that eSports has a huge number of people (especially SC2) that have really, really bad sportsman ship. How come?

first of all I would disagree with the part "escpecially SC2", because when I watch a typical q3a/quake live etc player it doesn't sound nearly as nice as gl hf, gg etc.

but yeah in general I have to say bm happens quite often. I wouldn't expect a "gg" after 4gating, but I don't understand why people leave without anything said before after a nice long macro game. It seems that lots of SC2 players don't care about beeing good mannered

Double-post, but...

Can anyone redirect me to a good place to watch VODs about Terran?

I just played my last ZvZ and I admit... it was a well-played one. But I'm finally ready to learn how to play Terran but have no clue where to start.

Thanks!

Apologies if double-posting on two unrelated notes is consider spam!

I'm not that comfortable with the whole glhf/gg thing.. It feels sort of more like a programmed tick than anything polite... like achivements in WoW (for those who play that) how often do you say "grats" when someone dings/get an achivement? its simply a programed response that means next to nothing...
sometimes (usually my first games of the sitting) i go "evening/afternoon" whatever suits me then and there.. it feels more friendly...
and no i do not gg (maybe when i win and the other one says it first, but often they leave before i manage to even react) If it was in fact a good fun game (even if i lose) i dont go gg.. because then i try to strike a short convo with my opponent.. or going "that was fun" or things like that.. complementing whatever made the final break and such.

You do realize that's all the same thing. They're all mannerisms, some more automated because people are more focused on advancing and progressing and yours is more personal. It's just different application of the same intention. Despite it being automated and perhaps... less "personal", it's still a valid representation of good manners or conventional courtesy norms.

No different than people staying to the right on an escalator (going down) so those who are in a hurry can just rush buy on the left-hand side. Automated norm, but a small thought-process is initiated when doing so.

The "GG" is no different than in a sport where both teams slap hands with the other team and just chant "GG".

well, I can only speak for myself, but when I say "gl hf" or "gg (wp)" I mean what I say - otherwise I wouldn't say anything of course. In my opinion it is bm to not say a word. If people don't like the "gg" then say something else appropriate. or would anyone normally play a "normal" game and after the game is done stand up and go home without saying anything else?

I agree with Torte here. For example, in every single major league baseball game you see, at the end of the game, no matter how lame or one sided it might have been, they teams all come out of the dugouts and shake the hand of each and every other player.

It's not about what they think of the game. It's not about it being programmed. It's about showing a basic respect for your opponent and saying, "Hey, thanks for playing.", even if they acted like a dick.

It's just fundamental sportsmanship.

i can see the point here.. and for pros and high level and arranged games i can easily agree to it.. but the random of laddering i feel its abit more pointless.. atleast on my level i tend to never face the same person twice.. if i ever get good enough to go very high then sure i will face the same people again.. and then i feel that one should be more polite... you face the same players, you might even get to know them in some cases.. for pros they actually know eachother and all that..
In such cases the good manner something you actually want to do..

while in the lower levels of about any sport.. its not the same.. sure there's "sportsmanship".. I've seen soccer matches where the losing team lines up and shakes the hands and all that of the other team.. but its easy to see its forced behavior.

I would say that sure do what you will, but dont do it because its the norm and all that.. do it because you think its right.. its not realy bm to be quiet, while i do consider it very bm for people that won to complain about it afterwards.. kinda shows a need to get literal confirmation of their skill... in some cases i've been through it was a desperate need

Many individualized sports do not have every competitor shaking hands and congratulating each other after an event. Look at running or swimming, some athletes do it and others do not.

I do not believe saying "gg" should be expected because often times people who lose don't view the game as being a good one. People get mad a cheese, mad at themselves for making dumb mistakes, or just get mad in general over losing.

I gg 99% of my games I lose, sometimes forcing myself to when I don't feel like it.

I think bad sportsmanship has nothing to do with not "gging." Bad sportsmanship comes into play when people insult and harass each other before, during, and after games.

I thought the xbox CoD community was bad when I played competitive on it but I came to SC2 and countless games I've been called a fuck wit, dick head, bad player etc for doing a good build that they just can't defend and I always will only say gl hf gg because it is basic manners. I just versed 4 people who quit the game without gg'ing. It's poor.

I'm just going to go on a limb here and say probably at least 1/3 or 1/2 the community (especially in the lower leagues), don't know what 'glhf' even means...a chunk more probably know about 'gg', but even then I don't take it as a slight if someone doesn't gg before they leave - it's pretty stupid to assume 'ARG RAGEQUIT' anytime that happens (except in Tourneys). The only time I feel actual bm is if they explicitly start something.
edit: by community I mean sc2 in general, not TL.

What are your thoughts about having 7 T and 1 Z at GSL at the moment? Is it normal ?
