When reading that customized hotkeys were introduced, the only change I wanted to make was to bring back the BW preset camera hotkeys (F2, F3, F4).
I went into the menu, changed all of the camera location hotkeys (shown below) and hit OK.

While no errors were given to me during the process (for which there is a system), after hitting OK I was notified that many hotkeys had become unbound. The list is pictured below, and includes several crucial and unrelated hotkeys, including Attack and Cancel.
+ Show Spoiler +
Sure enough, Attack and Cancel are now unbound on each indivdual unit. Attack can be reset to A, and Cancel can be reset to Esc, but each reverts the other to unbound status. I can't find a way to bind A and Esc back.
I'm not sure if this is universal or if I'm just doing something wrong, but I wouldn't think that this problem was caused by changing unrelated hotkeys.
Edit1: All changes can be reverted to default, but that also undoes the changes I wanted to make. Edit2: It seems the error comes up when I bind Ctrl+F2 to anything. I tested it in several different spots and it continues giving the same error.

This fixes the problem, but doesn't solve the problem of not being able to change the hotkeys I want to change.

So all you did was change the F keys and everything went to hell? This may very well be a major error, have you looked on blizz forums for similar issues/ troubleshooting?
(If no one else has mentioned it on blizz forums, maybe try reinstalling or something?)

Yes, that's the only change I made.
No, I don't see anything related on the bnet forum.

Hmm I just changed to bw F2-F4 keys and nothing happened to me. You sure you didn't mess with any other hotkeys?

My friend also changed his with no errors, but it seems that mine goes nuts anytime I bind Ctrl + F2 to anything.

Try shift + F2 hopefully doesn't fuck up again :D

this could be a stupid Q but did u use any of the previous hotkey customization methods? like the custom .sc2hotkey or whatever the extension was.
|
Just another maybe problem, I'm messing with the standard option and just remapping everything (kind of a modified grid layout with a few tweaks)
I can make attack move q for probes and drones, and make produce probes or drones q. When I do the same for the scv it unbinds the attack move for q for everything. Or likewise when I rebind the attack move, it will unbind the make scv.

Yeah for whatever reason ctrl+fkey causes craziness. It probably has something to do with MBS, because shift+anything works fine for all the fkeys. Unfortunately I think it's something we'll need to swallow, just like how we can't rebind shift&ctrl&caps.
|
i cant create a ctrl+fkey or a shift+fkey combination on location, it used to work with only f3 but it doesn't anymore. really sucks i was looking forward to this
edit: apparently works now with ctrl, still cant get it to work with shift and it doesn't always work with ctrl so it is kind of random

So far it;s worked well for me. I have bound f1-f4 to control groups and corresponding shift and control that go with them as well. I wonder if it's related to your hardware or if there has been some corruption in the files of people.
Has anyone who is having trouble tried a different keyboard or reinstalling?

There's another bug in that you cannot change the hotkey for the creep tumors spell.

I'm playing on NA with a german keyboard layout. The Z and Y and some other keys are swapped and I use the grid hotkey setup. Warp Gates on default is Y with other keys like Chronoboost also on Y.
I wanted to change Warp Gates to Z instead of Y, which unbound the grid Y, and if I set the grid to Y, it unbinds the Warp Gates Z.
In the end I picked the space bar, but I hope it gets fixed.

try manually editing your SC2hotkeys file in \Documents\StarCraft II\Accounts\"NUMBER"\Hotkeys\hotkeyfile.SC2Hotkeys just open it in notepad or similar

For some reason assigning the Numpad keys to select control groups doesn't seem to work. It lets you type it in, but when you go in-game, they don't actually select the groups.

Does anyone have any idea if the custom hotkeys are saved on bnet or locally on you PC?
Thanks.

Thanks. Doesn't it say right when you save the hotkeys that they are saved globally so you can use them on any machine?
