Actually there is nothing random about it, and it's a great way to make sure IN ADDITION TO THE STANDARD CODE A TOURNAMENTS that exciting players get a chance to go to Korea. Also nowhere in his post does Junkka say that they will pick the players who get the most votes in this thread. It's called feedback, and if you can't appreciate a community friendly organization like the GSL then you really don't know anything.

To be honest, I really dislike this idea - if a player already in Korea someone fails qualification they then get a place because their a foreigner? Just sounds really bad. Also the question is who is WORTHY. I would love to see players like DeMuslim and BratOK in Code A, but if your surely you must go for players who have proved themselves in tournament and ladder play, and this would mean SjoW and Dreamhack winner Naama, even tho, personally it is my feeling that DeMuslim and BratOK would perform better. Tyler has repeatedly stated it is his intention to play in North America, and I would assume with TLAF-Liquid he has already had, and turned down, the opportunity to go to South Korea, so suggesting him seems pointless. To me, ROOT.qxc is the most obvious choice, although how playing in GSL Code A would fit into him studying in Spain may mean that is a no go.

It's not like they're going to choose the player with mose votes or whatever, they're just asking for some feedback before they make their [own] decision. I hardly think that's a bad idea.

It doesn't matter if they take the people with the most votes here or not, if a bunch of goobers typing out names on a forum factors into their decision in the slightest it's a dumb idea.

Let's say they don't follow tournaments outside of Korea all that well. In order to get a better grasp, they ask a community what players they like/think are the best (popular players are good to gain popularity for a tournament as well). They get a list of x names and then check out their vods/replays to determine what players are best suited to be invited. Doesn't seem like a terrible idea to me.
