omg, people please stop saying iNcontroL, and take this a bit serious, Junkka said they very well may use this for serious feedback. no offense to Geoff or anything, but from what ive seen he is not on par with most top NA/EU players by a pretty big margin tbh. and i know the "BUT he almost qualified!" argument is coming, but that very well be due to (not saying it is) random brackets and a "he had good day, opponent has bad". he hasnt really proven that he can even get good results in the NA, so i dont rly consider him to doing anything in korea. imo the votes should go to people which has proven themselfs in various ways such as: tournament and consistency, those 2 are really the only things that matter imo.

My ideal 4 would be:

Fenix, HuK (HuK is already in korea so someone else might get invite before him, then someone like TT1, SEn or MorroW come to mind) , SjoW, Naama,

and btw Gomtv its a terrible idea to ask us for about this, for 2 reasons:

1. it can easily turn into a popularity contest, and people will vote for the fan favorites, ie iNcontroL for example (i am not a geoff hater btw, i think hes a very funny guy and an important community member).

2. alot of people may not be as informed at ideal, ie people saying qxc, dimaga, tyler etc. and alot of people from NA has 4 NA players and vica versa.

I am serious about Incontrol, this is why I mentioned in my post that he would have to be considered for entertainment value (especially if GomTV this this entertainment value could carry over to Korean viewers). As far as whether he's one of the most skilled foreign players, he's obviously in the second tier of professionals. Heck, while he'd dispute that he wouldn't argue his results have been second tier. That's not really the issue here.

Amazing post!
I will definitely watch the next one if Huk is in it, as with White-Ra - would love to see him invited. MeatyOwlWings deserves a shout too!
Would also like DeMuslim for BritPower - he just moved to USA didn't he, so he's clearly mobile?! That vote isn't based on his playstyle or anything though.

So many reasons for Huk though:
* need more protoss
* need more canada
* v popular (as stated above, I for one would watch more GSL just for him)
* already there
* 'baller'
* good attitude, funny to watch - actually a personality

Huk: He won an mlg and placed highly in another, and he's been tearing up the Korean ladder, beating players such as Top, who recently 4-0ed MC.

Qxc: The man's late-game management and harass is crazy.

Kiwikaki: Just a solid player who can beat players with standard play and wtf strategies.

WhiteRa: Great mechanics with tons of experience on his side. Would love to see him compete. If he doesn't want to, I would go with Select instead.

Ofcourse you could argue how much/little marketing value weights, as only Gomtv knows that, but (atleast imo) you should invite players based by skill, since were talking about the biggest tournament in the world, and i dont want foreigner fan favorites to go, and then lose in 1/2 round. Id rather have someone like (not gonna happen tho since he has said he wont leave cus of family) DiMAGA go, who i think personally would have a good chance in getting far.

edit: and just gonna repeat myself as i saw another post saying qxc: QXC, Tyler, DIMAGA, White-Ra, and DeMusliM are not going to go (Demu prolly will eventually get shipped, but hes staying for some time to compete in som ESL league), because of their commitments, qxc school, tyler+ra wife, dimaga family.

SjoW has won a BUTTLOAD of online tournies, and does not seem to slow down (a lot of which have rly good players from ro8~ and onwards, and Naama won DH. how does that argue against my point? im not really a fan of either, but they have put up good results.

All would do pretty well in Code A.

This isn't honestly the place for this discussion and I don't particularly want to insult/look down on some very good players, but Sjow doesn't really appear to have the mechanics he needs to be successful in Korea and Naama hasn't impressed his DH victory aside.

This poll is way too US biased
I mean qxc over ones like mana and naama?

Just be objective and look for tournament results

HuK, Incontrol, and SelecT at the very least (they were what, 1 game away from qualifying for GSL3?). I'm not informed enough about the european scene to give any more opinions.

To me it seems like this thread mostly is about who people like the best. You see americans obviously only voting for northern americans etc..
Yet there are probably like 30+ (probably way more) players in europe who are better than incontrol for example. there is a reason why quite a few northern americans go to the EU server to practise :p

Im not saying there no good american players, but i think especially out of the perspective of the americans they overrate themselves

Its hard to suggest people here, because quite a few of the people i would suggest probably wouldnt go, like Dimaga (said in an interview he doesnt want to leave his country coz of family etc), whitera (married), socke...

People who i think might want to actually go and are very good:
-Kas
-BratOK
-Huk
-Another Terran who has been successful lately, maybe naama strelok fenix qxc..

Just speaking on my own habits and being in the US, I don't watch as many European games and tournaments for various reasons. So, while I know most of the really good European players, I find it hard to distinguish the very best from that group, other than maybe White-ra. He participates in so many tournaments that it's impossible to miss him (and I didn't vote for him since he's married and would be unlikely to go to Korea). People mention Brat_OK a lot, but I could probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen him play, so it's hard for me personally to say how good he is.

You're right to some degree about people voting for players like iNcontroL (who I think could do well in Korea and would be fantastic marketing for GSL, but probably won't get invited due to other players having better results), but for the most part people are just voting for who they're familiar with, not necessarily because they think american players are better.

And you can say the same things about Europeans and European players.

Liquid guys in Korea needs these spots? I think they have to pull it off for themselves because they lives in Korea right now. 4 spots are for overseas foreign players imo.
