IMO early pressure. proxy 2rax all-in with bunkers I think you underestimate the skill difference..... putting up a good fight =/= winning When was the last time you saw a legit Gold level player put up a decent fight against a mid Diamond player? Because that's probably a good representation of the skill gap between 2500 and IdrA..... It might actually be more severe than that.....

I expect these games to be similar to the game when I hit Strifecro on the ladder. An absolute roflstomp, but extremely enjoyable to watch.

Question for Idra: If it was up to you to decide the 4 foreigners that will be recommended for the second GSL code-A tournament, who would you choose (if any)? And any particular reason(s) why?

Boy oh boy sir, do you have a fight on your hands ;p Should be really interesting to watch though.
Best of luck sir, have fun!
PS: So jealous that you get to play with IdrA...He's totally my fav player.

I really dont think thats a good comparison. A gold level player is probably stuck in the gold division because of his/her lack of fundamentals. They wont do a good job scouting, they'll not keep up with marco, or their cheesey tactics stop working at higher levels. A 2500+ diamond player has enough games under their belt (probably) to have a decent game sense, have a decent build order, and a good response to certain compositions. I dont understand why you feel so uneasy at the fact that a progamer may not just completely face-roll another person who plays the game a lot. If look at their win/loss records, they actually have losses on the ladder.

I'd pay 150 for idra to coach me. I suck..he'd rage and bm me. I know it.

A more accurate comparison is an olympian world-record luger versus a top amateur. Both have solid rides, but the olympian has refined his skill to go just faster and cut more corners enough to crush the amateur's time, every time.
If it were a game of complete information, IdrA would be top 5 in the world. Unfortunately, we live in a world where the best player in the world will still always lose a quarter of his games against random ladder opponents (imagine a fluctuation between luge runs of 25%). It's going to be that way for a while yet, so enjoy the days of swashbuckling Starcraft.

I don't think $150 is overpriced.
$50 is joke and way undervalues what his time is worth. High tier poker coaches charge in excess of $500/hr and even the mid-tier quality coaches charge $75-125.
Coaching from elite level players is a niche market. It targets a very specific type of player in a very specific point in their gaming careers. It is NOT for the general population to get better. In order to get anything out of a coaching session with IdrA you would need to already be very good. You would need to have no major faults in your play but instead you might be having trouble with a specific match up or need advice on how to better execute a build.
This is something that would be an excellent use of time with an elite player. You're basically paying to pick their brain on something that only they would know, or something that could expedite your learning process significantly (high level tips and tricks).
Any run of the mill Computer Programmer can bill $50/hr. Heck, many high school kids charge that once they build up a decent skill set.

Yeah it was just a joke, I meant no disrespect towards Idra :/. But seriously if you don't mind divulging the amount it took, I would like to know how much Idra thinks his games are worth. If not its cool, I was just curious. Well, Idra charges $150/hour for lessons, so that should give you an idea. The OP did say Idra was kinder to him, so my guess is somewhere between $50 and $200.
Wrong :D
Turns out IdrA was kinder than I expected, and allowed me to stream the event.
He was kind in that he was allowed to stream the event. Work on you interpretation skill sgood sir.

Hey guys,
I'm looking for someone to cast the game in better quality.
My stream would be the question and answers during games with IdrA and there would be another stream to watch both players in better quality, let me know if anyone can stream.

I hope your practising hardcore NaYeBo, I want your very best game when you VS IdrA
Oh and thx for putting this livestream on for everyone. I am going to make time to see this live!

you should seriously make one of the conditions of this showmatch that if idra loses he doesnt get the money
that would make it a bit more entertaining

you can earn 500/hour playing poker on a high level you can win 100/day in tournaments playing with the best players in the world, so the prices are relative
