New questions that haven't been asked might be a better idea, since it opens up a NEW can of worms for IdrA to talk about. My question to IdrA: (contains a spoiler) + Show Spoiler +oGsMC said during his championship interview for GSL3 that had he played Terran he'd have won 3 GSL's already. Do you agree with him, that it's just a fundamentally easier race? And, if so, why aren't you playing Terran to go for the "Free wins?"
My friend, he has answered that question ages ago. "self-respect"

it's only 10AM EST right now- it's in 12 hours... Calendar mismatch.

I can't wait to watch. Thanks for doing this! It's great that IdrA is willing (of course with money involved) but still, lots of fun for people that love watching sc2!

My mistake guys, sorry about that. I read the times as AM instead of PM, whoops! The event is supposed to start at 10PM EST tonight.

This is pretty awesome. Next time anyone wants to try this, consider being cocky and arrogant for the sake of the storyline.

It's not to late to change! OP, send some aggresive messages to IdrA claiming that you have improved miles since challenge accepted. And that you will crush him, with a smile on your face.

$50 is joke and way undervalues what his time is worth. High tier poker coaches charge in excess of $500/hr and even the mid-tier quality coaches charge $75-125.
Coaching from elite level players is a niche market. It targets a very specific type of player in a very specific point in their gaming careers. It is NOT for the general population to get better. In order to get anything out of a coaching session with IdrA you would need to already be very good. You would need to have no major faults in your play but instead you might be having trouble with a specific match up or need advice on how to better execute a build.
This is something that would be an excellent use of time with an elite player. You're basically paying to pick their brain on something that only they would know, or something that could expedite your learning process significantly (high level tips and tricks).
Any run of the mill Computer Programmer can bill $50/hr. Heck, many high school kids charge that once they build up a decent skill set. Poker coaches can charge more because professional poker is a well-established game with huge amounts of money in it, even at a local level. Even the more minor tournaments have GSL sums of cash on the line. Similarly, programmers can charge a lot because the end result of finished websites/software is a profit. If I hire a web developer to make my business' site, I'll earn it back and then a lot more. Very few people make good money off SC and none of them are actively coached by other players.
It's a simple case of supply and demand tbh not even getting into what is established or not. What people will pay is what they think his time is worth. If IdrA can only afford time for 2-3 hours a week for coaching lessons and only 2-3 people a week are willing to pay $150 or whatever sum of money for those hours then he has set his price point correctly.
If that time was worth $500 an hour in their eyes and someone out there is willing to pay that. Then it is up to whoever is receiving the coaching to feel that $500 was worth that time from IdrA to coach them.

were there any Vods or could some one who saw it post a synopsis?
|
I think IdrA may enjoy early aggression, the quicker the match is over the more $/minute he made. To my knowledge it's a set price to play a Bo3, doesn't matter if the series lasts 10 minutes or 1 hour; he gets paid the same.
