As Excal illustrated, points have different values in different divisions. In order to be in the top 200 you may need to gain more points. Note that it is still "fair" (since your division's points are easier to acquire therefore you need more of them), although confusing

its nothing new the people who mass game and mass cheese will be pretty high. of course it doesnt help when they play in tournaments because they will most likely lose. i see alot of cheesers in the top 50.

5 protosses in the top 10, hopefully this will reflect how they do in upcoming tournies. We really need more protosses duking it out far into tournaments for the game not to grow stale. You can only watch so many tvz's, zvz's and tvt's before it sort of gets a bit monotonous.

Nah, dude, lots of people on the Top-200 that aren't in divisions that fall in to his little theory. Medic Mu and Medivac Alamo are just fucking baller, that's all. Two of the first Diamond divisions, made-up by all the best Brood War/Beta players who got to Diamond first. Same goes with the other divisions with good rankings: most of them are just early divisions.

I'm not jumping on the buff toss band wagon until the toss players start playing better in gsl. In all the games played so far I think general consensus is that they were doing weird stuff in a lot of the games and there wasn't much straight up play. Plus I can name four times as many top zergs and terrans than tosses.

It's not a theory. It has been confirmed by Blizzard that different divisions have different weights to their points. It makes less difference in Diamond because players are good enough that they can rise beyond the "norm" for a given divsion (since they can be promoted). This is why people with high point values are ranked lower than people with lower point values.
