This one is going to be a bit of woozy. We just had some news that Linda Liao, a famous Taiwan MTV VJ, actress, singer AND Diamond Rank #1 Asia gamer who goes by the nick of 'Pikachu' just walked away with the grand champion spot for ESL Female Gaming StarCraft II Cup after beating 30 other gamers! Needless to say, we were really stoked when this video popped out on Taiwanese TV. It speaks about her accomplishments and her crazy 4 days of nonstop gaming without sleep. Oh - she absolutely rocks our Razer Orca and other gear too. We truly believe in a heaven on earth." Why should you feel bad for her bikini pics? Shes a famous Taiwanese MTV VJ, actress and singer.

I don't feel bad for her bikini pictures. I felt bad because I though they were showing TL as bunch of nerds fapping to a hot female gamer. I know that a lot of people here usually want to see tits when a female gamer is mentioned, I just don't want to be associated with them. But like I said I thought it was worse that it is. Also didn't know she was a singer/acress :>

Hahaha quality post A) for the realization that it doesn't contribute and B) for its bravery. I love how your search for this girl cannot be daunted by the threat of exile by the TL admins. THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is true love.

So many jokes that could stem from the end of this, though I've yet to get a ban and I'd like to keep it that way. Interesting to see that TL is getting spotlight as of late for things other than gaming :/

This is not a physical sport, the only reason for no female pros is that they don't try hard enough. It's not like people are against them, creepers or not, they are basically worshiped, not feared.

There is actually a physical aspect to why they can't compete with the top guys. But i'll let you research it yourself instead of me spoiling it ;-)

1. Her voice is quite low for her looks 2. Her APM seems quite low (from the 5 seconds of footage) 3. I think the video said she spent 4 days without sleep playing SC2 which is ridiculous even for progamers 4. She's says she's embarrased that people can see her body. But the pics were originally for a commercial?? How the hell does that even make sense, much more people would've seen her previously anyways so why does it even matter if TL nerds see it?

Well gaming there is very popular in general. Although I don't understand taiwanese she didn't seem that upset ig that was actualkly what she was talking about. She's speaking mandarin(nitpick!). But aside from the stuff people already said, she also stated she's embarassed/shy because she can't see anyone else, but we've seen almost all of her. Also, damn it, I need to go through with one of my plans to move back to Taiwan.

I hope you don't mean pictures of you wearing a bikini. Although that would be hilarious, and maybe make her feel more comfortable. Great to see it making the news over there, though.

I Loled when I saw they translated her name into "Linda" because where I live, girls called "Linda" absolutly don't look like that (Linda is a stereotype ^^). I guess the translation comes from the phonetic of here name?

I forgot that there really is a Taiwanese language that is similar to Hokkien. My grandparents are from Fukian (sp?) province like almost all Chinese in Southeast Asia. I just thought it's Westerners not knowing it's Mandarin Chinese, rather them mistaking it for a completely different language altogether.

Anchor: Linda the singer obtained the the European ESL girls championship. ------------------------ Reporter: Linda the singer played video games all the way out of the country. She joined the European ESL girls competition, beating representatives from 32 countries to become the world champion. ----------------------- Linda: So I started playing from 2 am to dawn, and uh...because you have to wait in between games, you have to keep your hands active and can't stop them, otherwise you will lose your touch. So, that's the difficult part. ----------------------- Reporter: After Linda won the tournament under the name Pikachu, everyone was curious as to who this girl from Taiwan was. Who would have thought that the web was so resourceful that people found old photos of Linda's underwear advertisements and put them up on the web. The people online were surprised that the winner was so "proper" and hot. ----------------------- Linda: It feels so exposing*, because I'm just a gamer, and I don't think that, because of my job, I am more special. And they, on their American website put my pictures up. It makes me feel very shy. Because I can't see them, but they see me so clearly**! ----------------------- Reporter: In order to play video games, Linda has had a personal record of not sleeping for four days. Her mom used to scold her for ________*** for video games. Now, since Linda came home with the world championship, her mother instead says that her daughter makes her very proud. * in the naked sense ** able to see so much (skin) that there's "nothing left to see" *** I don't understand what she said.

Alright, now thats out of the way, I kind of feel for her - but I mean, that's an issue with celebrity status - particularly when you have pictures taken of you with scantily clothes. I mean, what does she expect? Either way, its always cool when celebrities are caught playing this game, and it could be an indication of the growing status of starcraft 2 in popular cultures. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

the caster is a bit biased for Pikachu, but he's Taiwanese so that's understandable ![]() Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 + Show Spoiler + her opponent is honestly not too good - didn't even get warpgate tech in two of the games it's funny how taiwanese players call gateways "bg", cyber cores "by", robotics "vr", etc.

This is what it literally translate into. I couldn't catch who she practice with though, the reporter mentioned her practicing with an unfamiliar name in the second video. so proud to be taiwanese right now : )
