Hi all! 2300+ Europe Protoss here~ Decided to create replaypack of games I've played today. Critize, ask, give tips or give any feedback!
~7 PvZ's ~7 PvT's 1 PvR 0 PvP (:/)
Games include some crazy speed Void Ray action and 6pools on Shakuras Platseu =P
Download: http://www.2shared.com/file/1uAmFdJ3/Replaypack.html
If you guys give good feedback I may post another replaypack too~~
|
Will definitely check out thanks for posting!
|
my internet is lagging too much to play and SC2 atm. Now i have many replays to watch woooo
ty
|
Thanks for sharing! Do you think there is something particular one should look out for in these replays? Such as BO's/strategies/tactics. Thanks again!
|
Oh nice! Will definitely take a look.
|
I can't download it probably due to ad block.
|
lol @ the first replay. Such bm 0.o
edit: that osho guy is retarded

There is a very smal "click here" under the ad!
|
Sweet although pvps wouldve been so nice
|
Awesome watching now. A question, your nexus first build, have you ever held off 6pool with it?
|
Osho sure is a charmer.
Edit: Lots of 4 gating so far...
|
yes but the first PvZ not against osho is a nexus first.
|
hes a nice guy actually. if you talk to him 10 min after a game in which he was upset, he´ll be nice again
|
Wow this is one of the reasons I click refresh on TL every 5mins, so I don't miss gems like these. Thanks!

I'm surprised you don't build your first pylon at the natural's choke when you go nexus first. I feel like if you had better sim city you would be able to hold off a 6/7 pool.
|
6 pool on shakuras?
does not compute.
It's like such a bad idea I guess I could see it working.
|
Hehe, reminds of me when I was still unknown in Starcraft and was posting my iccup replay packs every season. Too bad you won't be able to do it anymore when you start competing seriously. Keep the good job anyway, good luck :D
|
ClouD su :D He needs to post more replays for us Protoss players :D
@welmu Hopefully you post more I love to see other protoss plays especially PvP which is very unfortunate since you haven't played any
|
Awesome!
Just watched the 6pool on shakuras. That was so damn hilarious... I spat my drink all over my keyboard.
That Osho fella.. oh my

im feeling nexus first builds die pretty easily vs roach rushes

+ Show Spoiler +In the first replay, he calls 15 Nexus, 16 Forge noob cheese and starts bashing on Welmu. All while 6 pooling.
|
yea cloud as you might know there are a lot of protoss players having trouble after the recent patch dont make him feel bad for being nice :p
|
Hey thanks for the post i will definitely be checking these out!

Nice
I don't have allot of time to watch these, can anyone tell me which of the replays aren't 4gate/Early all-in?

it worked because he fast expended, but the zerg only did it as a revenge because he canon rushed his expo the game before

where's the download link at the 2shared url? i keep getting ads

I just watched the PvZs and gotta say im a bit disapointed. Expected to see some solid builds but most of the games you lose and most of the wins are 4-gates. Oh well guess you proved that 15 nexus FFE doesn't work..

Good summary i would like to see more real games for a 2300 ... The level is that low in top diamond ?
|
Had a good giggle while watching the osho games. Proud to be in his division.
|
Thx for positive feedback everyone =)! My PvZ is my worst MU and FE is kinda vurnerable to all-ins, if I dont manage to scout all-in in time. Noticed that in that (epic) 6-pool game I forgot to cancel expand ._... I was wondering how I had so little minerals =PP.
Games against Chills are also pretty good, check em out!
|
Awesome games. I'm on a mobile internet connection (1mbps suprisingly tho.) so I'm unable to play any 1v1 really, so I was looking for a timewaster. Thanks.
|
That Chill guy kept making mass tanks and thors against void rays and then proceed to complain about them.
Sounds about right.
Good replays tho, gave me a lot to look at, ty.

do you win every game?
ops my bad never seen the post above,
im glad you posted the ones where toss loses to watch because as a zerg player i am having major trouble with 2200+ protoss and getting just swamped.
so thank you for helping the whole TL community and not just protoss!
props
|
Thanks! As a protoss, this is certain to help me.
I disagree with desrow, I think having losses in a replay pack is very useful. We can often learn more from these than from the wins. It shows us what can go wrong and what we have to look out for, so please include them if you release another replay pack.
|
Thanks! Definetly appreciated from a former terran who wants to get a grip of "tossing".
|
Haha lol I thought the title meant "I've got 2300 replays for you!"
I was gonna say "Wow..that's a ton of games to watch!"
|
This is great, just watched almost all of them this morning! Thanks a lot. I appreciate including both winning and losing replays.
How are you finding zerg? I'm a mid-diamond toss but I've been struggling PvZ lately. I notice you 15 nexus prettyoften. I tried that but always seem to die to something before 10 minutes (nydus, mutas, roaches, sometimes blings, etc...)
|
To OP, before i dl your replays can i have a look at your bnet profile?? thanks.

Nice games. Enjoyed the PvT(vs Chills?) on metalopolis, very nice way of dealing with a quick contain.

thanks, i need all the help i can get

thanks o much will watch these later!!!!
Be great if you could upload a few more of these packs
|
I was really looking forward to this..... Then I watched it. Is this really how you play at 2300? You 4 gate at least half the time, or do some fail fast expand that gets destroyed. wtf.
|
Thanks for posting your replays.

Man those games against Zerg pretty much sum up everything I've been seeing in the mid 1900's as a Zerg myself. Either try to play economic and lose to a FE protoss, or early pool and auto-win. It feels like such a coin flip right now haha.
|

This guy is being generous sharing his high level replay yet you guys criticize him by saying his games are not real and that he's low level diamond ? So what if he 4 gates, it's standard. I bet 99% of protoss 4 gates.
|
I watched a couple games and they were both lame. One vs a Z who didn't start making units till nearly 40 supply vs your 4gate (and obv got raped) One where you base traded with T and got killed. If this is a rep-pack at least pick good games? I don't doubt you are a great player but I didn't really see anything skilled in either of them. Maybe I just got unlucky in the ones I watched. Ill watch a few more before I delete the folder.
Watched two more, first one you get early pooled trying to nexus first and die, 2nd one was a decent PvT but didn't last long at all, you stopped his 3rax push and then killed his expo when he went for it and GG'ed him.
From what I've seen out of the first 4 reps I don't think its worth watching the rest. You may be good but I don't see it.
|
very good player, hope too see more replays : )
|
The game where you break a contain by doing drops and getting a mothership was pretty damn awesome dude, thanks for the pack.

Thanks alot, watched about half of the games so far. Really really like to see replays from ladder grinding. You get to see the timingpush wins, countering cheese and things going wrong. Such games rarely find their way onto replaysites since they are not so entertaining but are a good view of how top level sc2 are played today.
|
i recommend everyone watch welmuvsmanofbothway0, epic game that totally deserved to be in a replay pack.

Thanks Welmu for posting the replay pack! I really enjoyed watching it. I'm curious about your experience with mech in TvP (see some previous discussion here). The general consensus that I've seen thus far is that top level Protoss have no trouble dealing with mech because of how effective a late game switch to Void Rays is. I noticed you did this in the games against Chills. Have you ever had any trouble with mech? Has anyone been able to counter your Void Rays?
Thanks again for posting the replay pack. If you post another I'll definitely be watching it.

Actually, I lost to Predy's pure mech about 8 times row in custom games so I had to find out someway to counter mech and Void Ray's has been working superior. I think I haven't lost against Mech with Void Rays yet =P
FE games against Zerg may feel little weak, but I was trying that kind of FE first time yesterday and so wan't quite experienced with it ^^. I think I have to go Forge first before Nexus naow >_>
And thx everyone for positive feedback again! Gonna post new replaypack next week and I promise it will be better! Also gonna play those games on afternoon so you get to see more high-caliber opponents

ooh more reps...tasty. Since you're also on EU and im a lowly gold league-er, i was wondering if i could add you up and ask you for advice sometimes on what to do in certain situations? I promise not to be overly annoying :p

thx for the pack op! ive got a question on ur 2gate robo buildorder. why do you go second gas so early? you have 300 gas vor a very long time and ur expo comes relatively late because of that. alternatively maybe build a few senttys faster, or are they not woth their cost in an very early confrontation?
|
@ TheAntZ: Send PM here on Teamliquid and I'll answer your guestions =P @ phos4: It was just silly mistake. Normally gas is always under 200 >_>

haha probably first time a bronzie can give a 2300+ diamond advice;
I don't think you need to scout vertically on shakuras plateau, the enemy is always on the other side of the map, either horizontally, or diagonally.
Edit: Shakuras Plateau linky, all sorts of good info about this map

Ok, that 6 min 4G is totally brutal...how DO you stop that?

hehe that bm from osho was fantastic, especially the part where he blindly 6 pooled and just started trash talking as soon as he saw the expo.
nice pack

can anyone rehost this pack please?
Im getting an infinite "Loading file info..." instead of a download link on 2shared :/

Really? A 4 warpgate push can get you to 2300?
People need to learn how to play the game, on both sides.

|
Nice, I might take a look. Thanks.
|
Thanks for posting this Welmu.
However, this really wasn't much of a good replaypack man. I'm sure you could play for like a week and organize a proper pack with just decent games.
This pack had like 2-3 decent/good games with the rest just being poor 4 gate / 6 pool games and whatnot.
Interesting 15 nexus... Though, it didn't seem to work out too well most of the time.
|
"Speed Voidrays" Hmmm those words gave me the chills, even though I'm a Zerg player.
|
I've looked at the first couple of replays. I was really looking forward to such high level play (I'm a lowly 1600 Protoss myself...), I am kind of disappointed though. I thought 4-gate played a smaller role in 2k+ games, but loved the Prism play on Temple. Hope the rest of the games prove more interesting.

There is one game vs Chill that is really superb - the one with the mothership - The Terran does this horrible camp outside his base at 7:30 with two tanks two marauders, two marines and a viking and I couldn't see any way to get out of it easily! Really worth a watch. WP
The smac talk is so funny, that first guy who six pools and then you beat on Xel Naga Caverns is such a prick.
|
Great replays, thanks for the thread. I hadn't seen mass VR used like that before, very cool.
I had a couple questions if you have the time -- Do you ever have a follow up in your 4gate doesn't kill him?
Also, is there any map where you use another FE besides 15 nexus v Z?
Thanks!
|
I just made the mistake of reading pages 2-5 of this thread... please ignore the fools who are criticizing this replay pack in there.
Including games where you get 6pooled, or 4gate, or lose/get roflstomped (blind VR rush vs mass marine was HILARIOUS) are incredibly useful to those of us trying to learn the game.
First, it demonstrates the variety of builds at high level play. Second, it lets users who are paying attention see how to adjust play based on map/opponents Third, it shows how important scouting can be.
On the scouting note - I know I'm completely unqualified to give advice as a low diamond player myself, but I would recommend in PvT that you poke with your first 2stalker 1Zealot force. You already chronoboost it out so it will never be in danger of facing a superior enemy force and dying unnecessarily, and it allows you to do a little damage to overly greedy terrans while also getting some really amazing scouting info in that dead couple minutes before your first obs gets to their base. The only reason I can see not to poke with that force is fear of delayed reapers, but if I am wrong please correct me.

The smac talk is so funny, that first guy who six pools and then you beat on Xel Naga Caverns is such a prick. You watch the replays "backwards". They are sorted by date and time so the latest game is in the top of the list. So first he won on Caverns and then he got 6pooled. Those were the two last games in the pack.
