Wchigo, Harris, ThatFrood, Domorin and I are Giantbomb.com community members and we have put together a StarCraft podcast. A while back, Giantbomb.com did a live event featuring a showmatch between HuK and Machine, and so I've decided to post about our podcast here in a further effort to encourage interaction between the respective communities of GB and TL.

Nice podcast.. You guys allways talk about phantom friday and koth matches.. Are all of theese on NA servers or îs there any love for Europe?

Glad you are enjoying our simple podcast; we are still developing our chemistry as a group but we hope to continue releasing these podcasts weekly. Sadly we are on NA accounts, but I encourage you to come watch KOTH matches on my stream whenever they are running, we have plenty of great participants from diamond leagues for players to enjoy. If you listen to episode 3, we also mention that the Third European Giantbomb.com community tournament is approaching on Saturday November 13. It's free to sign up for a regular giantbomb.com account so if you'd like to participate in that I'm sure you could get right in; the community on the site is very casual and friendly.

Yeah.. The problem îs that i have work from 5 pm CET to 2 am CET.. So i am on battlenet from 3am CET till the morning, so i live on US time most of the time.. Maybe i should get an US account, but i heard there are lag issues..

These guys have done a really good job of organizing Starcraft events within the Giant Bomb community. They also do a fantastic job with the podcast considering that they just started doing it.

For ep 5, we were unfortunately a bit low on material because of busy schedules (I can't speak for everyone, but I was swamped with work). So to pad out the length a tad, and to try something new, we put in a bit of an "extras" section at the end where we just talk about other games aside from Starcraft that we've been messing around with. More than a little bit of craziness ensues, and it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it went quite well and even just going back and listening to it, I was laughing my arse off at parts.
Once again, I want to thank everyone again for taking a chance and listening to our little podcast, despite the fact that we aren't top level players like LiquidTyler, Day[9], TLO or the like. We do it for fun and for the love of the game, and I'm just glad that we can share our shenanigans with other people and that they can derive some sort of enjoyment from it. To all you folks, my utmost thanks and I hope we can continue to count on your support.

Just to throw this out there -- there are dozens (hundreds even) of shows on a wide variety of professional sports where the people doing the talking are not and have never been professional athletes.
Dan Patrick, who I think has one of the top sports podcasts in the U.S., has never been a professional anything.
It's possible to be very informed about something and talk about it intelligently while still not being that great at it yourself, y'know?

DJ wheat has been casting e-sports for a long time, that's why hes given the benefit of the doubt. He is not a platinum zerg, that was his smurf account. At the time of the Day9 coaching he was 1500 Dia, probably more now.
The difference is this is a podcast with (No offence) nobodies. I don't see how anyone that isn't bronze-level-central would listen to this unless they're funny personalities or something

Maybe you should try listening to it and judge for yourself if its good or not instead of just being an elitist dbag on teamliquid forums.
Also, an overwhelming majority of players are in platinum or below, or simply don't even play multiplayer. Saying something is useless because it doesn't cater to your niche taste is pretty close-minded; particularly when you haven't even given it a shot.
Its probably useless arguing with someone who trolls a forum post promoting a new show just to be negative before even listening to it anyways (no offence)

After a Thanksgiving absence, we have returned and episode 7 is now available. Thanks for any and all continued support everybody.

I listened to most of one episode and like it, something different from the regular (SotG). It was nice to not hear someone say that every map/feature/change/unit was imba for their respective race. My only beef was someone was having mic trouble, I got past it for a short while but eventually my ears just got more sensitive to it. I'll try to remind myself to download the new episode tonight after i reformat.

Audio and recording has continued to improve as we record each episode. This week we used a new program and things turned out well.
