Former BW-pro and MBCGame HERO Coach Lee has decided to create a SC2 team based around Fruitseller ( Cool[fOu]), sSKS ( TesteR), and Clide. The team is called TSL - Team SCV Life.
According to the article the main sponser to the Team is G.SKILL, some of you maybe using G.SKILL memory/RAM. Additional sponsors are emTek, ASUS, TIMU, nKeyboard, EVGA, and ORION Jungbotongshin (apparently they make monitors?)

Anyway, from what I understand, the team is being managed by former MBC coach Lee, and the members at the moment are Cool, TesteR, Clide and Gas.
Some notable sponsors of the team are G.SKILL, ASUS and EVGA.

Lolwhat the hell? Leave oGs make your own team? I don't understand haha
Good for Cool and Tester though You could say they have one of the best line ups already.. Cool+Tester+otherguy.
|
|
after the hyungjoon show i love coach lee lol
|
Wow very unexpected news. A little sad cause I see bw dying a little more each day.
coach lee is moma bear?
|
lol TSL!!!
thats gonna be an insane team
|
TSL? Automatically my favorite team by default just because of the intials.
|
Defenitely confirmed ? Tester + Cool ...
|
|
i think the coach lee is indeed moma bear <3
|
Not sure what his SC2 ladder name is, which is why I didnt post it .. but I'm interested in seeing if they go after IrOn, seeing as hes been doing really well and Lee is his old coach.
EDIT: I think Clide is playing as Clide on Korean Ladder. I believe this is him. http://www.sc2ranks.com/kr/97827/Clide
|
Man... if only they picked up Idra, since he just recently left his team too.
|
Team SCV Life is an odd choice I've got to say.
|
|
Mama bear!
At the same time I guess he's leaving MBC's team...
My world is crumbling. T_T
|
It has begun.
Freaking awesome news, freaking awesome team name.
TSL FIGHTING!!!~~~~~
Edit: Nony and Sen should have a free pass to the team imo :D
|
freak amazing news for sc2
|
that's kinda cool. ^^'
get it? xD
|
Coach Lee! YES! LOL!!!
Edit: All said and done, the title of this thread should not be in all caps.
|
edit: Nevermind, guess I was wrong about that.
|
They get around $11000USD per month from the sponsors..good money!
|
lol Coach Lee was hilarious in Hyung Joon becomes a Progamer. Good luck to him.

coach lee left mbc game????
his new team should be called "Team Corndog"!
|
Coach lee? Wow, this is huge news. First person previously involved in pro-BW that came to Sc2 because of choice, not because his BW career was headed nowhere (tester, STC, July, Cool, Iron, etc)
|
Will Hyungjoon be playing for this team?
|
Very nice. Can't wait to see more.
|
TSL? something tells me they really love TeamLiquid.
|
|
SCV life? Hilarious name. Nice, let's get this pro scene rolling.

what happen to TSL 3? will TSL member be able to join TSL ?
|
Awesome news yo. Look forward to this progressing.
|
Sounds awesome but it sorta makes me wonder about the reasoning previously stated by tester and fruitseller about why they left oGs.
|
Awesome sponsor though. I love my G.Skill ram, I went through 3 brands before my G.Skill and its clocked in perfect first time!
I hope they're happy on their new team and look forward to seeing them play!

omg! I was waiting for something awesome for my 500th post ^^ This is absolutely incredible for the progression for SC2! They are a strong team no doubt but I wonder if this Terran is up to par with Tester and Cool.

is cool 하안사거리 guy in the ladder?
|
This is shit, can't believe those two bailed on our Liquid team.
|
Why do I feel so sad? Sigh, I guess the end of a great era is very close...

IdrA should have joined them lol, if 11k USD a month is true, good god.

TSL = TLO SHANT LOSE.
Good line up, and epic sponsors, but TL shall not lose to them.
|
So this the reason Tester and Fruitseller left... But Coach Lee left MBC!? noooooo He was there in the backstage in the Light v Jaedong semifinal a few weeks ago...
Good luck with his SC2 coaching career though, I hope his team succeeds. Their name could be better though, as joining the SCV life does not sound very appealing.

not 100% confirmed though

goddam that's some baller sponsors

Ah what a sad news. I hope this was not result of some falling out between him and coach Ha
|
Coach Lee's SC2 nickname is SCVlife. (He posted a lot of tips on sc2.gamemeca.com and other Korean media under this nick/pseudonym.) He collaborated with Fruitseller and TesteR on a project team as well. I guess this was a natural conclusion for their teamwork, but....still. I am so pumped up about this. LET'S GO FRUITSELLER! Show IdrA who's the boss!
|
Also, Clide also used to be a MBC game coach as well. They are joined by another ex-progamer named Hee-doo Hwang (Gas[fOu]) from MBC pro-team. So so far, they have 4 people...Well, I don't really know much about Gas[fOu] I guess...anybody?
|
So, is this team all ex-BW coaches?

There are other 'proteams'? In the GSL there are at least 3 teams that I can think of: oGs, WeRRa, Zenith... wouldn't really call any of them pro yet (TSL as well).
I may be mixing 'teams' up with 'clans' though (like there's a difference...).

yes the figure of $11,000 per month is correct. they are also looking to add ~2 players to join the team. not neccessarily established players but those with potential.

Shark would be quite a cool selection, didn't he get kicked out of MBCG recently?

That´s definatly big and good news for sc2! They will rock for sure!

Kind of weird for them to be sponsored by both Asus and EVGA at the same time. Both companies are the top producers of mobos/gpus and compete vs each other. Though Asus is more popular for their laptops.

are they the only sponsored sc2 proteam with salary drawing progamers right now? what about other theams like werra, ogs or prime?

TSL made me chuckle. Who wants his team to be called Team SCV Life anyway? Almost as bad as Starcraft Of Unbelievable Legend.

lol don't be so quick to be melodramatic.
SC2 is a new thing and nobody knows how big it might become: of course the possibilities are going to be tempting to a lot of people. Picture establishing one of the first big SC2 teams and then have the game become huge? Be a dream come true for many people.
But that doesn't mean BW is like a sinking ship.

But this is good news, i liked the skinny guy coach in Hyungjoon. Glad to see Tester and Cool in the same team aswell.

I don't understand why most of you are so excited about the name TSL (Team SCV Life) for this new team. The TSL "brand" is already in use by Team Liquid in the SC2 field.
This will only cause confusion and can potentially harm the TSL (Team liquid Star League) in getting sponsors etc. Especially if the new team gets successful. Not a good situation at all.
In my opinion Team Liquid should do everything in its power to have the new team change it's name.

Are you being serious? The TSL tag isn't copyrighted under Teamliquid, and after all teamliquid has used Altitude as part of their series name. Asking someone to change their team name just because of TSL seems abit overboard, and besides they already tattooed that name on their arms

Asking someone to change their team name just because of TSL seems abit overboard, and besides they already tattooed that name on their arms team liquid could always change to TLSL, dunno why the first L was dropped in first place
Well, with TLA sponsoring TL it sure could be TLASL too

This will only cause confusion and can potentially harm the TSL (Team liquid Star League) in getting sponsors etc. Especially if the new team gets successful. Not a good situation at all.

I'm very serious. Altitude is the sponsor and thus not part of the "brand" itself. Just as the first TSL was the Razer TSL and the second the Pokerstrategy.com TSL
Oh and if you REALLY believe they tattooed it on their arm you are very naive or they are very dumb.

They might have talent for sc2 but clearly they have bad taste in picking name for their team.

In the GSL there are at least 3 teams that I can think of: oGs, WeRRa, Zenith... wouldn't really call any of them pro yet (TSL as well). I may be mixing 'teams' up with 'clans' though (like there's a difference...). I'd say a pro team is a team where you actually earn money. A clan is just family.
i would say a pro team is a team that makes you able to play the whole day and lets you live from that. so thath would be the case for ogs, prime and tsl, as they live in the teams house.
werra is just an online clan as far as i know.

I'm so exciting to see team names starting to pop up
Edit: I'm not actually going to fix that grammar fail as a reminder of to double-check my posts after a sleepless night.
Edit 2: "reminder of to double-check"? ._.

I don't know about the tattoo then. But seriously, asking someone to change their name? TSL wasn't even officially recognized by korea, i bet nobody in korea heard about it and thus they put the name TSL as their team name.
But of course if it belongs to TL then i don't know, you can ask them to change their name if you like, if you think that taking the name TSL would severely impact the name Teamliquid and affect us getting sponsors or something. But if thats the case, then you won't have to worry, cause Nazgul, TLO and Jinro would definitely pioneer the course of changing the name.

The name is stupid as hell
|
ahaha this discussion is too funny. try owning any rights to the name TSL before you can make such claims. and what you never seen different organizations don't have same acronyms before? you are the naive/dumb one
|
Yes there are a lot of different organizations that use the same acronyms but the difference is that in those cases (at least in all the cases I can think of atm) the organizations work in different branches. So there is no risk in mixing them up.
As an example let's look at HP. HP is the acronym for Hewlett Packard. A computer manufacturer. However it's also a brand of sauce. As both companies do business in totally different branches there is no risk mixing them up and they can coexist peacefully.
However if my name is Harold Powers and I start a company that builds computers you can be sure Hewlett Packard is going to sue me if I try using my acronym (HP) for the brand name.
I don't know how these things are regulated in the United States but in the Netherlands it's even unlawful to use the same or very similar name/acronym as somebody else in your branch of business.

asian awareness association v asian american association i wonder how they coexist

Nice, I was waiting for the confirmation of this team, and it obiouvlsy seems like it'll be a great team.
I can't wait to see the future of SC2 esports, as more and more huge names are making the switch from BW.

.... names shouldnt matter much. Just like the teamliquid open is tlo. No1s gonna complain abt this strange occurence and nor should they be bothered.
really interested in seeing who else might get picked up over the course of the 2010 gsl's
