I very much doubt Idra will join Liquid. I think either SK, mouz, fnatic or MYM will pick him up, since they have the funds to provide a much higher salary than Liquid.
Or he might join oGs if they are sponsored at all.

Maybe I just don't understand the situation, but I can't see why someone would live in Korea and not learn Korean. Doesn't this put him at a severe disadvantage? Or is English just that common among SC progamers?

My guess is that Korean is actually a difficult language to learn, and that when you're following a strict schedule of 10-12 hours a day training, sleeping and eating, all week around, you're going to not have much time to focus on learning a new language as well?

True. Idra has stated himself that he was not very good at learning new languages and that he stopped learning the language after he felt that it was cutting into his practice time too much.

it's nice that he's getting away from kespa.

i dunno if he'd join sk or mouz or any team like that. i have the feeling that idra would want to be on a starcraft-only team. it leads me to think oGs is the best guess.

I wonder if the CJ Entus coach's ever found out about all of idra's bm? it wasn't so bad when he was playing brood war, but in some of the SC2 tournaments he was just a complete prick eg cursing his opponents out after losses, etc.

I can imagine them not wanting to extend his contract if they knew about all that. Maybe he's hoping to join a different team, but this sounds more like his bad attitude finally caught up to him.

Don't understand why there's so many people bashing KesPa.
You guys should know that belonging to a pro-SC team will greatly improve anyone's chance on being successful in SC.
Pro SC team provides you with coaching staff, who will give advises on builds and what not, and also give you plenty of practice partners in a structured environment.

I speculate that the only reason Idra leaving CJ is 'cause he isn't playing BW no more.

And for his own good, he should try to join up with TL and oGs, because oGs has a number of ex-BW pro gamers and they know how to practice.

But the point of this post is that there's no reason you guys should be bashing KesPa, making it sound like CJ was holding Idra back from becoming a better player, 'cause that is totally false.

lol. Its not about BM.

You need to play Sc1 if you have a progaming license. Since Idra is focusing 100% on SC2, its stupid to continue in a team like CJ. And it is stupid to keep Sc2 player in a sc1 team if hes not playing the game they are focusing.

Do you know anything about Kespa? Kespa players aren't allowed to play in the GSL because of the power struggle between them and Blizzard.

Surely teams must be lineing up to sign him.
He's the number1 most followed player and arguably the most skilled non-korean.

I reckon he takes some time off to enjoy Korea more, and start learning the language. It's gonna be interesting to see what team IdrA ends up with!

That isn't the reason why KesPa BW players aren't playing SC2.
They're sticking to BW 'cause that's where their money's at.

Yes the conflict between KesPa and blizzard is disheartening, but that's no reason to bash KesPa.
Simply put, KesPa = BW (as of now), and they aren't sponsoring SC2 tourneys/players just yet.

That's true, but there's evidence to suggest that Kespa won't ever really sponsor SC2. Take, for example, the recent showmatch between Nada and TLO. Even if Kespa was telling the truth and they didn't actually pull the plug (doubtful) they're still doing their very best to keep SC2 from having any kind of Kespa support (they said the showmatch could not be broadcasted to Korea).

Besides, they're pretty pissed at Blizzard over BW :\

Lol if IdrA wins the first GSL tournament he'll probably have more money than he made at CJ over past 2 years! XD

$85K first place? (Or even $25K second place...) I'd leave CJ too! XD
