i played a guy where he GGed 3 times, hid bases, then as my DTs were killing what I thought was his last base, someone rang the doorbell so I called GG for the fourth time and told him i had to go, assuming he'd leave. When I came back 15 minutes later the score screen was up and just said "Defeat!"

IMO, if you're stupid enough to fall for this, which has been happening well into the beta, you deserve to lose. Granted, it's not fair for the newer players who just encounter it.

This supposed scam has so many holes in it anyone that has played at least 1 match shouldn't fall for it. Like you said if the guy really leaves there's the return to game/score screen box.

Second, the game also types out that you are victorious(which could by typed out as well I guess,but it would show his name before yours and without your name being colored).

I honestly doubt that this is much of an issue but if really that many people fall for this then Blizzard could just add a confirmation box when you click surrender.

I think worse is the people who type "GG" and then just don't leave the game, but keep playing.

That's a dirty underhanded trick, since my micro and macro will certainly slip when I've won.

You should never fall for this trick ever lol. I only leave when i see the victory thing comes up, and if i never hit the hotkey to stay in the game since im always hitting s for selecting larva.

How does typing that make you leave? I never got that, it's so dumb... When they do that to me as long as the pop-up isn't in my face I am not leaving because I dont look at chat for victory I look at the pop-up. It's a stupid trick and shouldn't work unless you're that dumb, and in that case you would deserve it.

a win is a win, if you were outplayed, outmicroed, outmacroed,outsmarted. you lost fair and square.
In a boxing match the ref gives rules before each fight, and he specifically states that you gotta keep your guard up at all times or hes stopping the fight. So the moment you let their words get to you, and you drop your guard- thats entirely your fault. It may be retarded and a waste of time most of the time for the player trying to trick you, but it's still a tactic you should be on guard about.

Makes me wonder what would happen if someone pulled this off in a tourney match or something important.
