You can't stop piracy, and there's no excuse to give your paying customers an inferior product just because some people are going to steal it. The people who bought the season pass weren't going to illegally download NASL if they'd made VODs downloadable; if anything, more people would have bought the pass. The people who want to pirate NASL are already doing it. Thats complete bs..... ofc they have stopped some piracy, you can't get everyone... but you can try. If they made stuff downloadable, how long until you think some enterprising soul puts it up on a torrent site or uploads it to a filesharing site and starts giving it away for free? (which some already do.... and guess what..... there would be way more) The fact that you have to work at it to be able to download them (and its not much work.... 1 program unless something has changed) means that LESS people will download them and therefore there is LESS chance for people to pirate. They will never stop piracy all together, but they have to do everything in their power to minimise it because after all... pirates cost us money to.... and I'm no stranger to torrenting..... but when it comes to esports, its not a multi billion dollar movie industry that doesn't get £16 for a DVD from me because £16 is way too much for a fucking movie when i can get it for free. Esports lost out when people pirate, that simple, and if watching a VOD via a browser is such a damn chore for you, go find the 1 program you need, and download them. Most people like Tyler want to be able to fiddle with the playback speed, if someone made a web player that could speed up and slow down etc.... problem solved on all fronts.....

Would apriciate any answer! Also big fan of SOTG, keep doing what you do but with moar idra and artosis! @Question What do you think about the korean Brood war scene still holding up a year into Starcraft 2? When do you think BW pros will switch to SC 2 and when they do how will it change the game? There's an interview where Flash said he'd play BW for another 5 years before he'd switch. ( should be some time in 2010 of august-october ) There's already some that did switch anyways... MVP/Nestea/July/Nada/MC/MKP ( weren't necessarily doing all too well, but brought their mechanics with them and they are doing pretty well now/The latter two were practice partners and Nestea played a lot of 2v2/Coaching//Nada wasn't really as good as the new kids when he quit ) They don't get paid as much in SC2 anyways. Btw, Artosis is 0-6 in tournaments so far...

Although preferably some other race maybe since protosses seem to have an overwhelming presence on the show as it is. Demuslim perhaps? He seems like the kind of person who would be interesting to have on SotG in case he's willing to wake up 4AM on a weekday. Wake up? DeMusliM will come straight from the pub, piss drunk, after smashing some faces (or getting his own face smashed). It would be hilarious.

I was listening to this recent State of the Game (late, I missed the live cast) and it seemed that the general attitude of Protoss players Tyler, Geoff, and the others was that the PTR patch 1.3.3 to Protoss Gateways was because lower-level players were still having troubles with 4-Gate strategies. As Tyler pointed out, the pros are learning to deal with 4-Gate builds and the strategy is no longer as big a bugaboo as it used to be, and therefore the patch must be directed towards lower-level players on the ladder. I feel this is wrong based on my experience with Dustin Browder. I can't speak for Blizzard, but I did attend GDC this year and I heard Dustin Browder's talk on turning Starcraft II into an e-sport. I was looking for some mention of the actual Q&A, which I could (sort of) find on this thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=198452. I personally asked him during the recorded Q&A on how Blizzard handles balance changes considering the wide breadth of the player base: Browder said that balance changes would always be made with the progamers in mind more than any other SC2 demographic. It seems to me that messing with a build as ubiquitous in all levels of SC2 as 4-Gate, given what Browder said, is obviously done concerning progamers. The reason why it's being patched now that (in Tyler's opinion) 4-Gate is no longer a problem may be because of bad timing - as in, it was such an issue in recent history and the balance team is just now getting around to pushing it onto the PTR.. Or it may be because Blizzard still feels that (by Tyler's estimation) "50%" of the PvP openers are forms for 4-Gate is too much. And of course, they could be very wrong for doing it for those reasons. However, the idea that they're doing it out of concern for the lower-level players is very likely wrong.
