He asked for service. My goodness. Yeah lol I can't believe how many people are getting upset over it. I can understand why Day doesn't like viewing the forums especially after he's done something cause people are so dumb getting all over day for his waiter story just I don't get it.

It's your job as a waiter / waitress to provide the most quality experience you can regardless of how the customer acts. No matter how big of an asshole they are , you put on a shit eating grin and you eat that shit right up, because that's your job. Some people (like the waiter in this story) are just bad at their job. Don't get me wrong, food service is possibly the most frustrating experience an employee will ever come across, but at no point does that give you the right to lose your composure, its just unprofessional. Totally agree, I did some Silver Service (waiting on tables at a function for rich people) and my god did they treat you like dirt, but you stuck on a smile and ignored it or else you didn't have a job anymore. If someone really is being obnoxious you talk to your supervisor and let them deal with it, you never confront them yourself. If this guy had just said "hey man, can you not point, its a bit embarressing" or something similar i'm sure Day would have been like "sorry man, didn't mean to". My gf works in a nursery, the parents treat her like shit, the children misbehave and she has to keep a massive smile on her face all day while looking after children for people who work because they like money and can't be assed to bring up their own kids. She complains like holy hell at home and in the staff room but she would lose her job if she ever said anything in front of one of the parents. When you work in a service industry, you are there to serve, if your customers have to wait for something then you are flat out shit at your job, if they politely ask your colleagues to fetch you then you walk up to the table and say "sorry about the wait, what can i get you?" and you do it with a smile and a light tones in your voice, if this guy worked for me he wouldn't have a job very long if he talked to customers like that.

OT: Really liked the PAX discussion. Husky did seem to be selling the 'i have been talking to many companies' with about every thing he said but overall he was surprisingly well spoken. I was surprised by incontrol after he had said he was going to hold back a bit but was good to see him still making fun of people especially the call on pokebunny. I really hope that we can see day9 sooner rather than later back into competetive SC2 but by the sound of things if he ever comes back probably wont be until he finishes his thesis, which really is smart on his part even if its somewhat annoying for all his fans to have to wait that long for him to smash artosis again. Anyways great show and keep it going always interesting to listen to.

And i don't know if day9 was being dense or nice to artosis when incontrol pointed out " its getting harder and harder to knock artosis out because you have to meet him in earlier rounds ( otherwise he would already lose to other people of course) and day9 kinda shrugged it off and went yeah beating artosis would make my tournament. Now if only day9 would make an nasl video even if its just for fun. That would make everyone's day.

He created the Let's bash incontrol thread over at Reddit as well. Guess some people like drama more than others. I haven't really browsed Reddit but that thread is still one of the reasons I don't particularly feel like giving it a shot at any point in the future either. It was fucking disgusting, no matter how right or wrong they were in the first place.

The site in general is actually pretty friendly/helpful, there's a lot of spreading of important news, user contributions, indepth discussion, etc., but of course there's also a part of the typical internet bullshit going on. /r/starcraft is similar, it is a great site for SC, especially if you just want to follow an overview of things that have happened in the community recently.

However, there are certain behavior which is not tolerated, and these things do vary greatly from location to location/workplace to workplace. For example, while working somewhere you're supposed to treat customers really well and cater to them etc., but if there are people there who's not going to to buy anything and are indisputably disrupting the actual customers, you "ask them to leave". I agree with you overall though, the waiter shouldn't have responded like that at all, especially considering how Day9 doesn't exactly ooze with harmful intentions. I still find the idea that people can treat others who work some place badly simply because they pay for the food to be stupid. But that is actually besides the topic, because Day9 obviously didn't treat the waiter badly, at least not intentionally... The thing is everyone has been the victim of that rude customer/employee at least once. But as far as I am concerned regardless I will always be polite back then the way show my disgust with the service is by no or lower tip. There aren't many people who can say they have never been frustrated by something and it showed to the customers whether the thing that you were frustrated about was work related or not. This does not excuse this particular waiter but shit happens its not the end of the world if a waiter is rude to you. No reason to go get their supervisor or all this other random crap that you can do a simple reduction in the tip is more than enough and saves the person who wants to complain time as well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tip_(gratuity) TIPS to insure prompt(polite) service

People bashed him on their own right, the thread was not made to bash him, only discuss what he had been doing. Just because I made the thread doesn't mean I agree/posted everything in it, learn how the internet/reddit works before you say stuff like that. + Show Spoiler + http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_forum Stop complaining about people discussing stuff about the podcast in the podcast thread

I rarely state my opinion on forums and just live my own life but this time I really felt like telling. Ever though about doing it twice a week? Since there's so much thing going on with SC2 this past couple weeks, you already have alot to talk about! Then again I know it takes more than just that but that would be great! *How about 5 times a week? Wait now I'm just daydreaming.
