Can't wait til that day comes. ^^ This day in Starcraft II better be hyped by iNcontroL, because it will be the biggest match of the era! Artosis and Day9 on a serious note are such great analytical commentators that you have to love them both, and they both do such great work for the community.

Ya.. an offhand anecdote about a restaurant was definitely the focus of the podcast...

They talked about how PAX was going and then they answered a few questions where we learned once again how they picked their IDs.
I am going to take the incontrol route and say... Are you seriously whining about discussing a podcast in a podcast thread? Seriously?

I really want to see the showmatch the panel casted now.

I'm listening to the VOD / podcast of the live SotG - awesome at the moment.. Day9, don't point dude. edit:: ((just joking Day9)) <--- feel like had to be added.. lol is there any photos or some randoms video coverage or anything just to see the scene. Crowd seems awesome. ♥
great show. still listening :D

Are people seriously criticizing Day9 for pointing? The waiter was way more rude to Day9. There job isn't to give listens on etiquette, it's to serve food. If a waiter ever got angry at me (visibly) or talked to me like that, I would either walk out of there immediately or ask for their supervisor if I really wanted the food there. That isn't being a jerk. That's wanting a service that you're paying for.

Great SotG first off.
Listening to it, I thought a bit about the phenomenon of Commentators being so big compared to players in SC2, which is a bit of a unique case in the sports world.
I wondered why this might be the case.
I guess I came to the conclusion that since "the SC2 scene" is still a really fledgling entity, people gravitate to casters because those are the most accessible personalities in the scene. Casters in sc2 also act as community nexii or focus points, providing news and access to events/ideas/players.
'Wait wait!' you might say, 'casters do this in any sport.. what are you talking about'. I guess my response to that would be that all these other sports are establishments already-- they are multifaced entities that feed information to the community via many different outlets-- they have an infrastructure to provide information/access to the public and are interfaced with society at a really deep level already-- they are also built to hype players and make their personalities accessible to the audience. SC2 is fledgling in this aspect and isn't quite there yet.
Nothing bad about that, I love our casters, our players are great too. And SC2 is growing.
Just thinking and writing, this probably isn't all that well articulated-- its late. Anyways awesome SotG guys.
EDIT: LOL Geoff: "the archon... spell of invincibility" pure gold.

Geoff and JP --
Since you guys seem to read this thread and often have to read a bunch of unpleasant or stupid stuff (some of it from me), I want to do my part to give credit where credit is due.
This past episode was one of the best ever -- it had everything that made me fall in love with the SotG podcasts originally only the level of polish and comfort has been taken up a notch and the presence of Wheat and Husky (and the return of Sean) complemented you two really nicely. The live audience was a major bonus too -- it was great that you guys could hear the laughs and the applause.
It was funny and substantive and the discussion was really smooth and (dare I say it?) professional without being bland or sanitized at all. Great job all-around.
In particular for you two, it was nice to hear Geoff talk about his history and about the future. You've got a real gift for spinning a story and selling a vision. And for JP, it was awesome that you started off by directly clearing the air with Husky. That combination of going for a bit of drama and bluntness and balancing it with a feeling of goodwill is a tough balance, but today you guys nailed it.
I hope it was as fun for you guys as it was to listen to, and I hope you take a minute to let this feedback hit home because I know the negative stuff sometimes is easier to dwell on or focus on.

I don't have time to seach through 600 posts to see if this has been mentioned, so sorry if this is a known issue.
The iTunes download is ridiculous. I download from there as you said in a past show that it helps your numbers, but it is so sporadic. I have to pause and resume the download every 15 seconds to get any speed whatsoever, its really irritating.
Outside of this, great show!
